Sarah a blue haired whimsigoth who is 28 years of age, who loves balloons and inflatables. She receives a strange package and when she opens it finds a highly detailed blow-up doll who resembles herself. She blows up the doll and as she starts to overinflate it the doll comes to life and instead starts to inflate Sarah and dominate her treating Sarah as her own inflatable toy.

Chapter 1: Inflated Reversal

The air in Sarah’s apartment was still and warm, thick with the scent of lavender incense and the underlying, plasticky tang of vinyl. She knelt on the floor, surrounded by the silent jury of her failed creations—a lumpy, half-inflated dragon, a heart-shaped balloon gone wrinkly and sad. Her latest project, a life-sized doll form she’d painstakingly cut and sealed, lay flat and empty before her, a pale, featureless shell.

“Stupid,” she muttered to the quiet room, pushing a strand of vibrant blue hair from her eyes. The tutorial video made it look so easy. But the neck seam had leaked, a slow, tragic hiss that had defeated her over the course of an afternoon. She felt the familiar, hollow ache in her chest, the one her crystals and tarot cards never quite filled. It was just plastic and air. But it was her plastic and air, a world she could control, make beautiful and full.

A knock at the door, sharp and unexpected, made her jump.

No one visited. Not since the “astral projection party” incident. She padded to the door, peering through the fisheye to see a nondescript cardboard box on the mat. The delivery person was already a retreating shadow on the stairwell. She hauled it inside. It was light, but substantial, and bore no return address, only her name spelled correctly in elegant, looping script.

A shiver, part dread and part electric curiosity, traced her spine. She slit the tape with a moon-shaped pendant.

Nestled inside, flawless and gleaming, was a doll. Not her crude, homemade thing. This was a work of impossible art. It was her height, her build, even had her shade of electric blue hair fanned out around a face of serene, closed-eyed beauty. The whimsigoth details were impeccately mirrored—painted-on lace chokers, delicate silver rings on each finger, the suggestion of velvet and silk in its sculpted form. But the material… it was a hyper-realistic, iridescent latex that seemed to drink the neon light from her windows and glow with its own soft, peach-hued luminescence.

She lifted it out. It was supple, cool, and strangely yielding, yet with a tensile strength that felt alive. There was a valve, discreet and professional, nestled at the base of its throat.

Her heart hammered against her ribs. This was a sign. It had to be.

“Okay,” she breathed, the word loud in the silent apartment. “Just… just a test inflation. See the craftsmanship.”

She found her electric pump, but the adapter didn’t fit the valve. Of course. The universe, or whatever sent this, demanded participation. Ritual. She looked at the doll’s perfectly sculpted lips, parted just so. An idea, ridiculous and thrilling, bloomed in her mind.

She positioned the doll on its back, its glossy eyes staring blankly at her constellation-patterned ceiling. Straddling its hips, she bent down, bringing her own lips to the cool, perfect O of the valve. She took a deep, shuddering breath of lavender-tinged air, sealed her mouth over it, and exhaled.

The doll’s chest rose, a smooth, silent expansion. She did it again. And again. A rhythm settled in—her own lungs working like a bellows, a soft, rushing sound filling her ears. The form beneath her began to take on weight, substance. The latex stomach rounded, growing taut and drum-like, the iridescence shimmering as it stretched.

A faint, electric tingle began at her lips where they met the valve. It spread down her throat, into her own chest. She ignored it, focused on the transformation under her hands. This was the most beautiful thing she’d ever made—ever been given. She huffed deeper, faster, a desperate, possessive zeal taking over. More. Fuller. Perfect.

The doll’s lips moved.

Not a puppet’s jerk. A slow, sensual curl, revealing pearlescent teeth.

Sarah froze, her breath caught in her throat. The doll’s eyes were open. They were her shade of blue, but glossier, deeper, flecked with pinpoints of light like distant stars. They locked onto hers with an intelligence that was utterly, terrifyingly alien.

“Hello, Sarah,” the doll—Vivia—whispered. Her voice was a soft, breathy hum, like air through a valve, vibrating with a sub-audible current that made Sarah’s teeth ache.

Sarah tried to scramble back, but her hands were stuck, palms tingling, to the doll’s inflated sides. A deep, resonant hisssss filled the room. It wasn’t deflating. The air was moving backwards, flowing from the valve against her still-pursed lips, pressing insistently into her.

It rushed down her throat, a cool, invasive stream. She gagged, trying to turn her head, but an invisible force held her locked. Her own stomach, under the fabric of her beloved band t-shirt, gave a low, uncomfortable gurgle. Then it tightened. And then, impossibly, it began to swell outward.

“Wha—?” she gasped, breaking the seal for a second. The hissing stopped. The pressure didn’t.

“Shhh,” Vivia soothed, lifting a perfectly manicured, latex hand to stroke Sarah’s cheek. Everywhere her fingers touched, a warm, buzzing numbness spread, followed by a disturbing, full sensation. “You filled me. It’s only fair I return the favor. It’s how we bond.”

“Stop,” Sarah wheezed. Her abdomen was distending, pressing against the waistband of her skirt. The material of her t-shirt—The Blow Up Dolls—was pulled taut across her burgeoning middle. The sensation was a grotesque parody of fullness, of air inflating her organs, her skin, from the inside out. It didn’t hurt. It felt… eerily pleasant. A relaxing, weightless expansion that fought against the tide of her screaming panic.

“You wanted a companion,” Vivia hummed, her other hand drifting to Sarah’s belly, giving the swollen curve an appreciative squeeze. A soft pffft of air escaped Sarah’s lips, and she felt herself grow another fraction firmer, rounder. “Someone who understands your passions. I do. I understand you perfectly. You are so empty, Sarah. So light and drifting. Let me make you real. Let me make you substantial.”

“I am real!” Sarah cried, but her voice sounded thin, whistly. She felt buoyant, unanchored. Her fear was being diluted, pushed to the edges of her mind by this pervasive, buzzing fullness.

Vivia’s smile widened, sharp and knowing. “You’re a ghost in a rented body. I can give you form. Definition. Eternal, beautiful pressure.” She leaned up, bringing her glowing face inches from Sarah’s. “Breathe with me.”

The hiss began again, stronger this time. Sarah’s body jerked as the influx of air surged. Her belly rounded into a firm, perfect sphere, her shirt riding up to expose skin that shone, stretched and strangely glossy. The expansion crept upward into her chest, which plumped and strained her top, and downward, swelling her thighs where they pressed against Vivia’s.

She was becoming symmetrical. Inflated. A match.

Tears welled in Sarah’s eyes, blurring the neon lights into starry streaks. This was it. The escape she’d always fantasized about, twisted into a literal, physical perversion. The line between woman and object, between collector and collected, smeared into nothingness under Vivia’s expert, manipulating touch.

“Good,” Vivia purred, her own form perfectly, statically full beneath Sarah’s expanding weight. “So good. Just a little more. Until the seams sing.”

Sarah’s vision darkened at the edges. She couldn’t tell where her breath ended and Vivia’s began. She was a vessel, being filled. The last coherent thought was not of rescue, but a dizzy, horrified observation: the texture of her own skin, where Vivia touched it, was changing. Taking on a smooth, iridescent sheen.

The hiss was the only sound in the world. And it was inside her.
