Chapter 1: Opening Image

Ombre's long, soft tail swished behind him as he talked with Cyn, an adorable smile on his face. "And then he asked me how I was doing, Cyn! He asked for my feelings! No-one but you does that!!" He giggled, his robotic arm clanking slightly as he gestured excitedly.

Cyn's twelve heads turned to look at him, her eyes softening. "That's wonderful, Ombre. I'm so happy for you." She reached out one of her many arms to stroke his head gently, her dog heads yipping softly in agreement.

Ombre leaned into her touch, his eyes fluttering closed. "You know, Cyn, I've been thinking. Maybe we should start a family. I mean, I know I'm not... well, I'm not like you." He blushed, looking away. "And you're tall, and have a lot of heads, and..." He blushed even harder, covering his face. "Ahhh, I sound so dumb!!!" Ombre exclaimed, his robotic leg clunking as he shifted uncomfortably. "I just mean, you're so... you, and I'm just... me. But I think we could be great parents. I mean, we could teach our kids all about the universe, and they could learn to speak every language under the sun!" He grinned, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

Cyn nodded, stroking Ombre's hair softly. "You've been a good boy recently, yes, darling? I just need to check if you're... having an affair. Possibly with a man..." She paused, her expression stoning. "Or a women." Cyn added, her voice dropping to a low growl. "You know how I feel about you spending time with others. I just want to make sure you're not... distracted. I don't want you to forget about us." Her heads turned to look at him, their eyes filled with a mix of affection and concern.

Ombre's smile faded, and he sighed. "Cyn, you know I wouldn't do that. You're the only one for me. I promise." He reached up to touch her cheek, his robotic fingers gentle. "I just want to make sure we're on the same page. I want to build a future with you, not just...

exist together." Ombre's voice was soft, his eyes searching Cyn's. "I want us to be a family, Cyn. A real one."

Cyn's heads tilted, her eyes softening. "I want that too, Ombre. More than anything." She leaned down, her multiple arms wrapping around him, pulling him close. "But you must promise me one thing, little bean."

Ombre's eyes widened, and he nodded eagerly. "Anything, Cyn!"

"Promise me you'll be careful. In space, with your job... and with your heart." She paused, her voice dropping to a low growl. "I couldn't bear it if something happened to you.

You're my little bean, my everything," Cyn said, her multiple arms tightening around Ombre protectively. Her dog heads whined in agreement, their tails wagging anxiously.

Ombre's eyes widened, and he quickly reassured her, "I promise, Cyn. I'll be careful, both in space and with my heart. I won't do anything reckless, I swear." He placed a gentle robotic hand on her cheek, his eyes filled with sincerity. "I love you too much to put myself in danger. You know that."

Cyn's heads nodded, her eyes softening. "I know, darling. I just worry.

You're so small, and the universe is so big. And dangerous." Cyn's multiple arms loosened their grip on Ombre, but her heads still hovered protectively around him.

Ombre nodded, a 'mm!' escaping his lips.

Cyn smiled at him, "Now, how about we go home?"

Ombre looked away slightly. "C-cyn...?"

"Yes, dear?" Cyn answered. She paused, "Why do you look ashamed?" Cyn's heads tilted, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Did you do something wrong, little bean?"

Ombre sighed, looking down at his robotic hand. "No, it's just... I was thinking about what you said earlier. About the shrimp." He looked up at her, his eyes filled with worry. "I'm allergic to shrimp, Cyn. You know that. And you fed me shrimp, remember?"

Cyn's heads tilted, her eyes widening in realization. "Oh, Ombre! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you!" She reached out one of her arms, her hand gently touching his cheek.

Ombre panicked, giving Cyn a deep bow. "No, no!" He exclaimed, waving his hands. "I'll be fine! I swear!" Ombre insisted, his robotic leg clanking as he shifted nervously. "I just need to... you know, take my allergy meds." He gave Cyn a reassuring smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'll be right as rain in no time, Cyn. You don't have to worry about me."

Cyn's heads tilted, her eyes filled with concern. "Are you sure, Ombre? I feel terrible. I didn't mean to hurt you." Her multiple arms reached out, gently pulling him close. "I just wanted to make you happy. I thought you'd like shrimp."

Ombre sighed, leaning into her embrace. "I know, Cyn.
