Chapter 1: The Morning Routine
The bathroom air was thick and wet, clinging to Teal’s skin the second he pushed the door open. Steam from Zane’s shower rolled out in lazy clouds, blurring the mirror and dampening his lavender hair until it stuck to his forehead in soft, dark strands. It smelled like Zane in here—that sharp, spicy aftershave cut through the generic lavender of the body wash Teal used. The scent was everywhere, a ghost in the humidity.
Zane was at the sink, shirtless, tracing a finger through the fog on the glass. His back was a map of defined muscle, still glistening. “Took you long enough,” he said, not turning around. His voice was a low rumble that vibrated in the cramped space. “Almost thought you forgot.”
“I didn’t forget,” Teal murmured, hovering in the doorway. He plucked at the thin fabric of his sleep shorts, the ones Zane said showed off his progress. They were definitely tighter than last month. His tank top felt small, too, the neckline slipping off one slender shoulder.
Zane finally turned, his eyes scanning Teal with a slow, approving sweep that made Teal’s toes curl against the cold tile. “I know you didn’t. You’re a good boy. Usually.” A smirk played on his lips. He reached past Teal and pushed the door shut with a soft click, sealing them in the humid box together. “Get over here. Time for your vitamins.”
The little white pill sat on the edge of the sink next to Zane’s razor, a tiny moon against the porcelain. Teal looked at it, then at Zane’s expectant face. A flicker of something—dull routine, maybe—passed through him. He picked it up. It was cool and smooth.
“Under the tongue first,” Zane instructed, folding his arms. He leaned against the counter, watching. “Let it dissolve a little. Makes it easier.”
Teal obediently placed the pill under his tongue. The initial chalky bitterness made him grimace, but it quickly faded to a faint, chemical sweet nothingness.
“See? Not so bad.” Zane’s voice dropped, softened into that coaxing tone he used when he was guiding Teal through something. “You’ve been doing so good, Tea. Look at you.” His hand came up, not to take the pill, but to brush a wet strand of hair from Teal’s cheek. His thumb lingered, calloused and warm, stroking the soft skin just below Teal’s eye. “So much softer. All over.”
A pleasant shiver trailed down Teal’s spine. He loved it when Zane noticed. When he confirmed the changes, made them real. He swallowed, the last gritty trace of the pill gone.
“Good. Now the pink one.”
The second pill was a vibrant, candy pink. Estradiol. Teal knew the name now. His ‘E,’ as Zane called it. The source of the softness, the new curves, the calm that settled in his chest like a warm cat. He reached for it.
Zane’s hand closed over his, stopping him. “Let me.”
It wasn’t a question. Zane plucked the pink pill from the counter himself. His other arm snaked around Teal’s waist, pulling him in until his back met the hard edge of the sink. The cold porcelain bit through the thin shorts, a sharp contrast to the heat radiating from Zane’s bare chest, now just inches away.
“Open up,” Zane murmured.
Teal parted his lips, a flutter in his stomach. This was new. Zane had handed him pills before, watched him take them, but this… this felt different. More deliberate.
Zane placed the pill on Teal’s tongue. His fingers lingered, pressing down slightly. The taste was sweet, artificially so, like a crushed berry. “Keep it there,” Zane whispered, his face close enough for Teal to feel the words against his own lips. His breath smelled of mint toothpaste.
Teal held the pill on his tongue, his mouth flooding with saliva. He didn’t dare swallow. Zane hadn’t said to.
“Good boy,” Zane breathed, and the praise melted into Teal’s core, warm and golden. Zane’s hand, the one not braced against the sink, slid down from Teal’s waist, over the swell of his hip, and cupped the full curve of his ass through the shorts. He squeezed, a firm, possessive grip that made Teal gasp around the dissolving sweetness in his mouth.
“So pillowy,” Zane mused, his voice thick with something Teal couldn’t name. His fingers dug in, kneading the soft flesh. “All this, from being good. From listening to me.” He leaned in, his forehead almost touching Teal’s. “Now swallow.”
Teal swallowed. The pill was mostly gone, just a sugary film coating his throat.
A low, approving sound hummed in Zane’s chest. His grip tightened, pulling Teal even harder against him, and Teal felt the solid, undeniable ridge of Zane’s arousal press against his hip. A confused noise, half-moan, half-whimper, escaped Teal’s throat. His own body reacted, a sudden dizzying heat between his legs that had nothing to do with the steam.
“Shhh,” Zane soothed, his hand moving from Teal’s ass to cradle the back of his head, fingers tangling in the damp lavender hair. “It’s just biology, Tea. Your body thanking me. Showing me it’s working. It’s natural.” He pressed a rough, chaste kiss to Teal’s forehead. “You’re just so perfect now. My perfect project.”
The words wrapped around Teal’s confusion, smothering it. Project. Right. This was about helping him. Zane was his guide, his protector, the alpha who saw his true self before Teal even did. The hard press against his hip was just… a side effect. A sign of Zane’s intense investment in his transformation. It was flattering, in a strange, overwhelming way.
Zane finally released him, stepping back. The cold air rushed into the space between them, making Teal shudder. Zane grinned, that easy, dominant grin that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Go get ready for bed. I’ll be in to tuck you in.”
Teal nodded, his legs unsteady as he slipped out of the bathroom. The dorm room was cooler, quieter. He crawled into his bed, the sheets cool against his skin. He could still feel the phantom pressure of Zane’s hand on his ass, the grip that had felt so claiming. His body still thrummed with that strange, warm alarm.
When Zane emerged from the bathroom, he’d pulled on sweatpants. He crossed the room and, without a word, lifted the edge of Teal’s blanket and slid in behind him, his heavy arm draping over Teal’s waist, pulling him back against that solid, familiar wall of muscle and heat.
“Night, Tea,” Zane mumbled into his hair, his breath already slowing.
“Night, Zane,” Teal whispered back. He closed his eyes, sinking into the warmth. The last coherent thought he had was that the pink pill’s sweetness was still on his tongue, and Zane’s spicy scent was all over his skin, and maybe this was what safe felt like. Even if it sometimes made his heart beat too fast in a way he didn’t have words for.
Behind him, Zane smiled into the dark, his hand splayed possessively over the soft curve of Teal’s stomach, right where the estrogen was quietly, steadily doing its work. His perfect, oblivious project. All his.
All his.
Zane’s breath was even and warm against the back of Teal’s neck. The heavy arm around his waist tightened, pulling Teal’s soft body flush against the hard line of Zane’s. The friction was immediate, a slow, deliberate shift of hip against thigh.
“You’re getting so soft,” Zane murmured, his voice a sleep-roughened rumble in the dark. His hand slid up from Teal’s stomach, palm skimming the underside of his chest through the thin tank top. There was a new, tender fullness there that hadn’t existed a few months ago. Zane’s thumb brushed over it, back and forth. “Feel that? It’s working. You’re blooming.”
Teal shivered, a confusing jumble of sensations colliding. The touch felt good, a warm, grounding pressure, but it also sparked a low, unfamiliar ache. He pressed back instinctively, seeking more of that solid heat. “It’s kinda sore sometimes,” he whispered.
“That’s how you know it’s real.” Zane’s hand drifted down again, his fingers curling possessively around the curve of Teal’s hip. He began to move, a subtle, rocking rhythm that made the mattress springs sigh. “You’re gonna be so happy, Tea. I promise. This is just the start.”
Teal’s thoughts felt syrupy and slow. The grinding was insistent now, a persistent, warm pressure against the cleft of his rear. He could feel every inch of Zane, solid and demanding. It should have felt strange. It didn’t. It felt like being anchored.
“Imagine it,” Zane whispered, his lips moving against Teal’s hair. His hand slid down, over the swell of Teal’s ass, gripping firmly through the sleep shorts. He squeezed in time with his slow, rolling motions. “Next semester. Walking into a party. Everyone looking at you. Not ’cause you’re some scrawny kid, but ’cause you’re beautiful. Soft. Complete. They’re gonna wanna talk to you, wanna be near you. And you’ll just smile, because you’ll know. You’ll know I was right.”
The words painted a hazy, golden picture in Teal’s mind. Acceptance. Admiration. No more awkwardness. Zane’s hand groped him, kneading the soft flesh, and Teal let out a shaky breath. It was just Zane. Zane, who always knew what was best.
“It’s gonna be so good for you,” Zane continued, his voice dropping to a husky, confidential tone. The grinding became more pronounced, a slow, sensual friction that sent little sparks up Teal’s spine. “You’ll be confident. You’ll be yourself. Everyone’s gonna like you so much more. They’re gonna get you. And you’ll feel so right in your own skin. So pretty.”
Teal nodded, a small movement swallowed by the pillow. Pretty. The word echoed. Zane’s other hand came up, cupping Teal’s jaw, tilting his head back so their cheeks pressed together. The motion stretched Teal’s body, arching him back into Zane’s relentless, rhythmic press.
“My good boy,” Zane breathed, the word hot in Teal’s ear. His hand on Teal’s ass slid around, fingers teasing along the inner seam of the shorts, a blunt pressure against his perineum. Teal gasped, his body jolting.
He looked down. In the sliver of light from the hallway under the door, he could see the shape of Zane’s hand, pale against the dark fabric, moving, groping, claiming. He watched it, hypnotized. Zane’s thumb stroked a slow circle.
It was normal. This was just comfort. This was Zane comforting him, showing him he was doing well, that the changes were good. The grinding was just… closeness. A sign of how proud Zane was. The full, aching pressure between his own legs was just a biological echo, a sign the medicine was working, just like Zane said. A flush of gratitude, warm and syrupy, spread through Teal’s chest, drowning out the flicker of confused heat.
“That’s it,” Zane coaxed, his movements slowing to a deep, constant pulse. “Just relax. Let me take care of you. I’ll always take care of you.”
Teal closed his eyes, surrendering to the sensation, to the voice, to the promise of a happier, prettier future. He melted into the grind, into the groping hands, into the fantasy Zane was spinning just for him. It was the most comforting thing he’d ever known.
It was the most comforting thing he’d ever known.
Zane’s hand slid up from his hip, fingers splaying wide across Teal’s ribs before slowly, deliberately, cupping the new, tender swell of his chest. He didn’t just hold it. His thumb began to stroke back and forth, a soft, relentless friction over the thin cotton of the tank top, right over the sensitive peak. Teal’s breath hitched.“So perfect,” Zane whispered, his own breathing deepening. The slow, deep grind of his hips never stopped, a steady, rolling wave that pushed Teal deeper into the mattress. His other hand tightened on Teal’s hip, holding him in place. “So fucking perfect for me.”
The words seeped into Teal’s haze. For me. Not just perfect.Perfect for him. A fresh wave of warmth, confusing and deep, pooled low in Teal’s belly. Zane’s thumb circled harder, pressing through the fabric, and a sharp, sweet jolt shot through him.He gasped.
“Shhh, it’s okay,” Zane murmured, but his voice was tighter now, rough around the edges. His movements became less rhythmic, more urgent. The deep grind shifted into something needier, a harder press against Teal’s softness.“Just feels good, right? That’s the medicine. Making you feel good. Making you right.”
Teal could only nod, a weak little jerk of his head.It did feel good. That was the terrifying, beautiful part. The ache in his chest and the hot, pooling pressure lower down were weaving together, all connected to Zane’s hands, Zane’s hips, Zane’s praise. Zane pinched gently through the fabric, and Teal’s back arched, a silent plea for more.
“Yeah, there it is,” Zane growled, approval hot in his ear. He took the weight of Teal’s chest fully in his hand, squeezing, kneading, his fingertips seeking out the hardened nubs beneath the cloth. He played with them, rolling and teasing, each touch sending bright, shocking sparks straight down Teal’s spine.
The deep, grinding pressure from behind became everything, the center of the universe.Zane was everywhere, all around him, inside his skin with every touch, every word. Teal felt himself unraveling, coming apart at the seams Zane himself had stitched. A low, relaxed moan vibrated in his throat, long and surrendering, as Zane pressed deep against him, squeezing him all over—his chest, his hip, the entire cage of his body. The sound seemed to flip a switch in Zane. His careful control cracked. His breath came in sharp huffs against Teal’s neck. The grinding lost all pretense of gentle rhythm, becoming a frantic, chasing pulse. His hand on Teal’s chest squeezed almost painfully.
“Mine,” he choked out, the word harsh and guttural, no longer coated in the syrup of guidance. It was raw, stripped bare.A statement.A claiming.
For one crystalline second, the fog in Teal’s mind cleared. That word. That tone. It didn’t sound like protection. It sounded like possession. The warm, comforting fantasy splintered, and a cold, sharp sliver of understanding pricked through.
Then Zane shuddered violently, a full-body tensing that locked them together. A hot, damp groan escaped him, and he buried his face hard against Teal’s lavender hair, his body pulsing in a final, intense rhythm before going utterly still, heavy and spent. The silence that followed was deafening. The only sounds were their ragged breaths, out of sync. The heat between them was suddenly stifling. Zane’s hand went limp on Teal’s chest, but he didn’t move it.
Teal lay frozen, his heart hammering against his ribs. The warm, wet patch cooling on the back of his shorts felt like a brand. The phantom echoes of Zane’s hands played over his skin, but the praise was gone from the air, leaving only the salt-and-spice smell of sweat and the echo of that one, shredded word.
Mine.
The silence stretched, thin and brittle as old glass. Zane’s weight was immense, a lead blanket of muscle and sudden sleep. His breathing evened out, deep and satisfied, within seconds.
Teal lay pinned, his mind a skittering, white noise. The only coherent thought was a pinpoint of sensation: a cooling dampness, stark against the skin of his lower back and the crease of his ass. It was... a lot. More than sweat. Stickier.
Slowly, carefully, he extricated himself. Zane grunted in his sleep, his arm flopping to the mattress as Teal slid out from under it. The room was dark, but the thin line of light under the door was enough.
Teal stood on shaky legs. He turned, looking back at the bed. Zane was out cold, a dark shape in the tangle of sheets. Teal’s own shorts were a darker shade in the back, clung to his skin. He reached behind, his fingers trembling as they touched the fabric.
Wet. Cold now. He brought his fingers to his face, peering at the faint gleam on their tips in the low light. A smell, musky and alien, hit his nose. His heart thumped a clumsy rhythm against his ribs.
He needed to see. To know.
He shuffled to the bathroom, didn’t turn on the bright overhead, just used the ghostly glow from the nightlight plugged by the sink. He locked the door, the soft click sounding like a gunshot in the quiet. Facing the mirror, he twisted, trying to see over his shoulder. He hooked his thumbs in the waistband of his sleep shorts and peeled them down.
The mess was stark against his pale skin in the dim light. Milky, glistening streaks painted the curve of his right cheek and the sensitive inner skin of his thigh. His stomach lurched. He stared, uncomprehending for a full three seconds. Then, with a numbness that frightened him, he swiped a finger through the slickest part.
He looked at the substance coating his finger. Without thinking, driven by a horrible, deep-seated need to categorize, to make the unknown known, he brought his finger to his mouth and touched it to the tip of his tongue.
Salty. Bitter. A biological sharpness that was utterly, definitively Zane.
He gagged, spitting into the sink, rubbing his tongue frantically against the back of his hand. He tasted toothpaste, soap, his own fear. But underneath it, the lingering echo of that salt.
He gripped the cold edge of the sink, head hanging, as the full picture assembled itself in his mind with brutal, slow-motion clarity. The grinding. Zane’s harsh breath. The claiming pressure. The shudder. This was the result. This was what that feeling was.
And it was all over him.
A hot wave of shame crashed over him, so intense it felt like vertigo. He squeezed his eyes shut. His crotch was damp. His skin was covered in it. Zane’s gooey, sticky proof of… of what?
The guided narrative in his head, the one Zane had built over months, scrambled for purchase. It’s natural. It’s biology. It’s a side effect. But this? This wasn’t a side effect. This was a primary effect. A conclusion.
A new, more terrifying thought slithered in, wrapping around the shame: Maybe I ground back on him too much.
The memory of his own body arching, pressing back into that rhythm, seeking the friction, played on a loop. The moan he’d let out. Had that done it? Had his own confused, traitorous body pushed Zane over some edge? Had he, by not lying perfectly still, asked for this? Caused it? Lost control of the situation Zane was so carefully guiding?
He was supposed to be the good boy. Good boys didn’t make their guides lose control. Good boys didn’t end up covered in… in evidence.
He cleaned himself with frantic, rough motions, using a wad of toilet paper, then washing with soap and water until his skin felt raw. He pulled his shorts back on, the clean fabric a scant relief. He stared at his reflection: lavender hair messy, eyes wide and spooked in the faint light. He looked like a startled animal.
He unlocked the door and crept back into the room. Zane hadn’t moved. Teal stood by his own bed, but the thought of getting back in, of lying down where it happened, made his skin crawl. He grabbed his pillow and a blanket and padded to the old, lumpy dorm couch on the other side of the room. He curled up on it, a tight ball facing the wall, pulling the blanket over his head.
The taste of salt was still in his mouth.
He heard the bedsprings squeak. Zane was moving. Teal held his breath, pretending to be asleep.
Footsteps. Then the couch dipped behind him. Zane’s hand, heavy and warm, landed on his hip over the blanket. Teal flinched, a tiny involuntary jerk.
“Hey,” Zane whispered, his voice gravelly with sleep. “What are you doing over here?”
Teal didn’t turn. “Couldn’t sleep,” he mumbled into the cushion.
Zane’s hand rubbed his side, a comforting, proprietary gesture. “Bed’s more comfortable. Come back.”
The thought of that mattress, that spot, made Teal feel sick. “I’m okay here.”
A beat of silence. Zane’s hand stilled. “You upset about something?” His tone was gentle, concerned. The guide. The protector.
Teal’s throat closed. How did you even ask? Did you come on me? Why am I tasting your cum? The words were impossible, grotesque. Saying them would make the bizarre horror real in a way it wasn’t when it was just a secret, sticky shame in the dark.
So he fell back on the simpler, safer guilt. “Maybe… I was moving around too much. I’m sorry if I, like, bothered you.”
Zane let out a soft, understanding chuckle. The couch shifted as he lay down behind Teal, spooning him on the narrow space, his body a familiar furnace. “Oh, Tea. You didn’t bother me. That was just… a thing that happens sometimes. Male biology. It’s nothing. It’s just proof you’re doing everything right, okay? It means the process is working. Don’t think about it.”
He kissed the back of Teal’s head, his lips dry and warm. “You’re perfect. My perfect project. Now get some sleep.”
The script was back. The narrative held. The warm, golden fantasy of a prettier, happier future reasserted itself, pushing the cold, salty reality down into a dark corner of Teal’s mind. It was easier to believe. It had to be easier to believe.
“Okay,” Teal whispered, his eyes wide open in the dark, staring at the blank wall.
Zane’s breathing deepened again, his arm a solid bar across Teal’s waist.
And Teal lay very, very still.
