Chapter 2: Dose and Devour
The harsh fluorescence gleamed on Reece’s exposed skin, turning pale flesh almost luminous against the sterile blue drapes tucked roughly under his hips. He lay utterly slack, arms secured loosely at his sides with soft straps, head canted slightly back, mouth slack around the endotracheal tube. Only the rhythmic hiss-clunk of the ventilator and the frantic, steady beep...beep...beep of the cardiac monitor confirmed he wasn’t a wax model. His erection, flushed dark and rigid, stood untouched, a stark, vulnerable exclamation point against the clinical indifference of the operating room.
Kennedy knelt on the padded step stool between his spread legs, her red hair a shock of color in the monochrome room. Her gaze was fixed not on Reece’s face, lost in chemical slumber, but on the straining evidence of arousal jutting upwards. She traced a cool fingertip along a thick vein throbbing visibly beneath the skin, feeling the trapped heat radiating from it. "Christ, Daniel," she murmured, her voice thick with a mix of clinical fascination and something darker, hungrier. "Look at the pressure in that dorsal vein. Textbook engorgement. Even with the propofol dripping." She pressed her thumb firmly against the pulsing vessel, watching the flesh indent and rebound. Reece didn’t move. The heart monitor stuttered, then resumed its rapid pace.
Daniel stood beside the ventilator panel, his lean frame silhouetted against the machine’s soft green glow. He watched the waveforms scroll across the screen – blood pressure holding steady at the elevated level they’d come to expect, oxygen saturation perfect. He’d already prepared the next syringe, a small vial of milky-white propofol resting beside a clear ampule of vecuronium, the paralytic. "Parasympathetic override," he said, his tone conversational, almost academic, but his dark eyes were fixed on Kennedy’s exploring hand. "The brainstem doesn’t need cognition for basic autonomic functions. Including… that." A smirk touched his lips. "Lucky for Reece’s little fantasy, huh?"
"Lucky indeed," Kennedy breathed. She leaned closer, her hair brushing the inside of Reece’s motionless thigh. The scent was intimate, musky, utterly incongruous with the antiseptic air. "He’s drowning in it," she whispered, her lips hovering mere centimeters from the swollen, glistening tip. "So much sensation… trapped." With deliberate slowness, she pressed her lips against it, not a kiss, but a firm, warm pressure. Her tongue darted out, tasting salt and heat. Above her, the heart rate monitor suddenly accelerated, a rapid-fire beepbeepbeepbeep filling the room.
Daniel’s gaze snapped to the screen. "Whoa, there we go. Significant tachy." He wasn’t alarmed, just observant. Intrigued. He picked up the propofol syringe, flicking off the cap. "Let’s keep him submerged. Don’t want any pesky near-wakefulness interrupting the program." He injected a small bolus into the IV port. Almost instantly, Reece’s breathing pattern deepened further, becoming utterly synchronized with the ventilator’s artificial rhythm. His body relaxed another fraction, a profound letting-go only achievable under deep anesthesia. The frantic beeping slowed slightly but remained elevated. "Okay," Daniel murmured, eyes back on Kennedy. "He’s sunk. Deeper than Lake Tahoe."
Kennedy didn’t look up. She was captivated by the immediate, unconscious response her touch provoked. She wrapped her fingers loosely around the base, feeling the incredible hardness, the thrum of blood under her palm. With her other hand, she gently lifted Reece’s hips, tilting his pelvis upwards. "Here," she said, her voice low. "Secure him like this." She wanted him angled, exposed, immobile.
Daniel moved quickly, grabbing a padded strap from a nearby tray. He slid it under the small of Reece’s back, buckled it snugly but safely to the table rails, locking his hips in that presenting position. "Secure," he confirmed. The pose was vulnerable, almost obscene under the bright lights. Reece’s erection pointed rigidly towards the ceiling, untouched skin flushed and taut.
Kennedy settled back onto her knees. Her eyes, dark and intent, roamed over the exposed flesh. "Let’s see how much he can take before his body betrays him," she whispered, more to herself than to Daniel. Her fingertips returned, tracing the length again, circling the sensitive ridge beneath the head, exploring every contour with a detached, almost scientific curiosity that couldn't hide the heat in her touch. She applied pressure, varying it, gauging the give of the skin, the resistance of the rigid core. Her thumb rubbed slow circles over the slick tip, smearing the pearly bead of moisture that welled there.
Reece remained a statue. No twitch. No sigh. Just the ventilator forcing air in and out, his chest rising and falling with mechanical precision. But the monitors sang a different song. The heart rate climbed again, a persistent, urgent drumbeat. The blood pressure reading on Daniel’s screen nudged upwards another few points.
"Vitals are spiking," Daniel observed, his voice tight with a mixture of professional assessment and raw anticipation. He picked up the vecuronium ampule, snapped the top off, and drew the clear liquid into a fresh syringe. "Parasympathetic system is throwing everything it’s got. Fight or flight… except he can’t do either." He tapped the syringe, clearing air bubbles. "Gonna shut down the voluntary muscle response completely. Lock it all in."
Kennedy didn’t pause. She leaned in, her breath warm on Reece’s skin. She pressed her lips to the tip again, this time opening her mouth, taking the swollen head slowly inside. Her tongue swirled, exploring the sensitive frenulum with firm, deliberate strokes. She sucked gently, then firmly, establishing a rhythm mirrored only by the ventilator and the frantic beeping.
Beepbeepbeepbeepbeep!
Daniel watched the cardiac monitor jump erratically. "Jesus, Ken. He’s peaking." He quickly injected the vecuronium into Reece’s IV line. "Paralytic going in. Full neuro blockade." He watched Reece’s face. The already slack jaw seemed to loosen infinitesimally further. The tiny muscles around his eyes, which had held the faintest tension, relaxed utterly. It was a deeper stillness. Utter, absolute physical surrender.
Kennedy intensified her rhythm, her head bobbing slowly, steadily. She moaned softly against him, the vibration traveling through the trapped flesh. She glanced up, her green eyes locking with Daniel’s over Reece’s motionless torso. Her gaze was fierce, triumphant, glazed with the power of the moment.
Reece’s body remained profoundly still. Paralyzed. Oblivious. Yet the monitors screamed his body’s desperate, involuntary plea. Heart rate hammering against the physiological ceiling the drugs allowed. Blood pressure elevated, pulsing with trapped energy.
Kennedy pulled back slightly, her lips glistening. She wrapped her hand tight around him again, stroking firmly in time with the accelerating beepbeepbeep of the monitor. "He feels it," she breathed, her voice ragged. "Somewhere deep... past the drugs... past the paralysis... he feels this." She squeezed, watching the flushed skin darken under her grip. "He’s drowning in it. Drowning in pleasure he can’t even process. Can’t move. Can’t scream. Just... trapped."
Daniel stepped closer, drawn to the edge of the table. He watched Kennedy’s hand work, watched the unresponsive flesh in her grip, watched the frantic dance of the heart rate tracing across the screen. A thrill, dark and electric, surged through him. "Then let him drown deeper," he murmured, his voice rough. He picked up the propofol syringe again, his thumb hovering over the plunger. The faintest tremor ran through his hand. "Let’s see how far down the rabbit hole goes." The hiss-clunk of the ventilator marked time, a relentless counterpoint to the frantic, trapped rhythm of Reece’s drugged heart.
