Chapter 4: Chapter 4
Talon meditated with Anakin. Now she spent much of the day with Anakin. He was surprising. Sometimes she didn't know what was going on in his head. That scared her as much as it amused her. Yet Anakin liked her, that much was obvious. He even taught her the basics of what he learned at Czerka in terms of slicing and droid construction. In that way, their relationship went far beyond the usual master-sith apprentice. Like Anakin she saw potential in any sort of konwledge.
Though her focus still lay in the Force. She knew she learnt little from Baras. He didn't want an apprentice that could challenge her. She sometimes thought she wanted him to train Anakin for that reason. Maybe he thought she lacked sufficent training to train Anakin to be a threat.
That is why she like Anakin had begun her research into the library. In truth she lacked skills in the lightsaber. She trained relentlessly but she needed an experience duelist to teach herself. One preferaablly with skills in Form IV and III. Though she would take any mentorship she could get. She would breach out to Zash. She was already in her employee.
Now she was wondering if Anakin would ever really join her? Killing Baras would leave him adrift in the Empire. Though he already was. She herself was an apprentice. An apprentice teaching an apprentice wore a Death sentence. The Dark Council didn't want lesser apprentices teaming up and diminishing the Sith's power that way. The Council even didn't want a stronger apprentice to kill their master. Though that rule was as often disregarded as it was kept.
Zash had already ordered her to seek out some of the spies Baras had amassed over the years and turn them to their side or if not possible, assinate them. Soon she would move out. Then again they had a goal, but had yet to decide how to go about it. If Baras was revealed a traitor, all those who served him would be rooted out. There was little that could be done at that point. No she would have to go to the Dark Council betray him herself or if she couldn't find evidence against Baras, hope they never learned about his treachery against him.
And she already knew where to find them. Tommorow she would arrive on Dromund Kaas and plot with Zash. But there were more immediate concerns. She was tasked with targeting a rogue Sith lord, Lord Grathan. She was tasked with targeting his presence on Korriban, though she still had to travel to the capital to be assigned the mission.
Talon didn't mind. If
