Chapter 1: Chapter 1

"Hey, there, handsome," a voice called out to me as I was walking along the beach. I turned around and there stood this tall, dark-skinned, Good looking Man.

What are you doing here, all alone on the beach, Blondie?" he asked as he pulled up next to me.

"I'm here for the turtles, of course," I said without pause. "Turtle season is year-round here in Namibia. You can catch them any time of the year."

"And what brings you to this part of the world? Family Trip?", he asked nicely.

"No, actually. I'm on my own adventure. I'm from Denmark, and I'm here to see the world —or at least the part of it that isn't covered in snow during the winter."

He was a handsome man, with a great build and a strong jaw. "Oh, I see. And where is home for you, missy?"

"I'm from a place called Skanderborg. It's a town near Copenhagen. You l know it if you've ever been there; it's the oldest town in Denmark with a castle that dates back to the 11th century." I said proudly. He was looking a bit confused of what I said. How about you? Are you on an adventure of your own?"

My question seemed to throw him off guard. He stared at me for a few seconds, his eyes so brown they were almost black.

"I live here." He said. His eyes open wide when he told me this. "I'm not a traveler, but you are."

Then he starts playing Airplane with his Arms and Flys around me. He stopped after 2 rounds and I started giggling. He straightens up and stands something in front of me, which took my view of the sea. He leaned down slightly and looks at me with his beautiful brown eyes.

"So, you come from a place far away, but you travel around the world. That must mean you have friends all over the place, no?"

"Yes, I do. Everyone is my friend until they are not." I giggelt, knowing that he was perplexed about me."You don't know what you're getting yourself into when you travel alone. You need to be careful, especially in this part of the world." He said with a deep tone.

"OH I do not?", I said with a unconvinced look. "I can easily manage on my own. After all, this is not my first trip. I've been to 5 other countries before. Africa can't be that much more dangerous." I was almost arrogant. But I didn't want to put up with that. He has no idea. Always these prejudices. Before Amelie could get started again, he put his arm around her shoulders and said: "You're right. After all, you came here alone, probably even on foot. Then you'll have a few miles behind you, after all is the nearest town a few miles from here." He smiles at her with an almost cheeky grin. He must have been surprised that she cares so much about doing things of her own accord. But he also liked that she doesn't need a "savior". He liked this rebellious manner. "Well, if you don't want me to tell you about travel and the risks, at least let me show you around." Amelie agrees, knowing that she'll have to find a place to rest soon anyway. He led her through the dunes and along the beach until they reached a small fishing village. "Now this is where I live. My house is that way." He pointed in the direction of the sea. "And over there is the dock where I get my daily catch. Do you fish, missy?
