Jake was a 25 year old jock. He had a crush on John who was a straight 25 year old jock. Jake and John were both in their college biology class. Jake wished John would sexually crave him. His wish came true. John got hard and his erection clearly showed in his jeans because his dick was huge. John sat beside jake.

Chapter 1: The Unspoken Wish

The lab always smelled like bleach and desperation. Jake traced a finger through the fine layer of dust on the cold metal table, watching motes dance in the slants of late afternoon sun cutting through the high windows. Another two hours of cellular biology. Another two hours of sitting three feet from John Masters and trying to remember what mitochondria did.

His phone buzzed. A text from his roommate, Mike: u coming to the Sigma thing tonight? chicks.

Jake thumbed a reply without looking. Maybe. He wouldn’t. He’d go for a run instead, push his body until the ache in his legs drowned out the one in his chest. It was a routine.

The door sighed open.

Jake didn’t have to look. He knew the rhythm of that walk, the slight scrape of athletic shoes on linoleum. His spine straightened, his lungs tightening like someone had cinched a belt around them.

John slid into the seat beside him, his broad shoulder brushing Jake’s. A casual, friendly nudge. It burned.

“Hey, man,” John said, his voice a low rumble. He dumped his backpack on the floor. “Forgot about the lab report. You got the notes from last week?”

Jake forced a nod, his throat dry. “Yeah. Yeah, I got them.” He fumbled for his notebook, his fingers stupid and clumsy. He could feel the heat coming off John’s body, smell the faint, clean scent of his soap mingled with leftover fabric softener from his sweatshirt.

“Cool. You’re a lifesaver.” John leaned back, stretching his long legs under the table. The movement caused his thigh to press solidly against Jake’s.

Jake froze. Every cell in his body zeroed in on that line of contact. It was an accident. It was always an accident. He stared straight ahead at the whiteboard, at the professor’s spidery diagrams, seeing nothing.

Then he felt it.

A subtle shift. A tension. The pressure against his thigh changed, becoming firmer, more distinct. Jake’s gaze flickered down, drawn against his will.

John’s jeans, worn soft and faded grey, were pulled tight across his lap. There was no mistaking it. A thick, heavy ridge strained against the denim, tenting the fabric in a way that was blatant, undeniable. It was… substantial. The kind of thing you noticed. The kind of thing that short-circuited rational thought.

Jake’s breath hitched. He felt a dizzying, terrifying lurch in his stomach. This couldn’t be happening. His own body responded with a sharp, shameful twitch of interest, which he clamped down on viciously.

He stole a glance at John’s face. His friend’s easy expression was gone. John was staring straight ahead too, his jaw tight, a faint flush creeping up his neck. His knuckles were white where they gripped the edge of the table. He was completely still, as if moving would make it more real.

The fluorescent lights buzzed like trapped flies. The hum of the ventilation system was a roar in Jake’s ears. He could hear the quick, shallow rhythm of his own breathing.

“You okay?” The words left Jake’s mouth before he could stop them, quiet, barely audible.

John flinched, as if shocked by the sound. He turned his head, and those piercing blue eyes—usually so full of lazy confidence—were wide with a confusion that bordered on panic. They dropped to Jake’s lips for a fractured second, then back to his eyes.

“Yeah,” John said, his voice rough. “I don’t… I don’t know what’s…” He trailed off, his gaze dropping to his own lap, then snapping back up. A flicker of something raw and unguarded flashed in his eyes. Embarrassment. Fascination. Fear.

He didn’t move his leg away.

The professor droned on about endoplasmic reticulum. The golden light from the window glided across John’s forearm, highlighting the fine blond hairs, the corded muscle. Jake watched a single drop of sweat trace a path from John’s temple down the strong line of his jaw. He wanted to map that path with his own finger. The want was a physical pain.

Minutes stretched, taut and silent between them. The bulge in John’s jeans didn’t subside. If anything, it seemed more pronounced, a silent, rampant confession in the sterile room.

John finally shifted, just slightly, angling his body away from the rest of the lab and toward Jake. A private, involuntary gesture. His knee knocked against Jake’s again.

“Jake,” he whispered, the name sounding strange, loaded.

“Yeah.”

“This is…” John swallowed. “This is really fucking weird.”

A hysterical laugh bubbled in Jake’s chest. Weird. The understatement of the century. Here was John Masters, who dated sorority presidents, who slapped guys’ asses on the field, who lived in a world of unquestioned, easy heterosexuality—hard in his jeans sitting next to him.

“Yeah,” Jake managed again, his own voice foreign. He was terrified to move, to break whatever this was.

John’s eyes searched his face, looking for something—disgust, maybe, or a joke. He found neither. Jake knew his own mask had slipped. Every hopeless, hungry months-long fantasy was right there, naked on his face.

The confusion in John’s eyes began to slowly morph, crystallizing into a dawning, intensity of focus. The panic receded, replaced by a sharp, predatory curiosity. It was the same look he got on the field when he saw an opening, a weakness in the defense.

He leaned in an inch. The scent of him engulfed Jake. “Is it…” John began, then stopped, his courage faltering. He tried again, his voice a rough whisper right by Jake’s ear. “Is it me? Or is it…”

He didn’t finish. He didn’t have to.

The unspoken question hung in the air between them, thick and electric. Is it this? This space between us?

Jake’s heart was a jackhammer against his ribs. He could see the pulse thrumming in John’s throat. He nodded, a tiny, almost imperceptible movement. His lips were numb.

“Yeah,” he breathed. “It is.”

The admission seemed to unlock something. John’s hand, which had been gripping the table, relaxed. His fingers uncurled, then brushed against Jake’s where it rested on his own thigh. It wasn’t a hold. Just a touch. A point of contact that sent a violent, thrilling shock up Jake’s arm.

The professor dismissed them with a wave, reminding them of the report due Friday. The noise of chairs scraping and bags zipping filled the lab.

Neither of them moved.

They sat in their bubble of silence as the other students filed out, laughing, oblivious. The door swung shut behind the last one, leaving them alone in the buzzing, sun-washed quiet.

John slowly turned fully toward him. His eyes were dark, the blue almost swallowed by the pupil. He looked at Jake—really looked—as if seeing him for the first time. His gaze traveled from Jake’s eyes, down to his mouth, to the hollow of his throat, then back up.

“I should go,” John said, making no move to stand.

“You should,” Jake agreed, his body screaming in protest.

John’s hand finally moved, covering Jake’s completely. His palm was hot, slightly damp. His thumb stroked once, slowly, across Jake’s knuckles.

“Meet me,” John said. It wasn’t a question. “The track. Nine. When it’s dark.”

He stood up abruptly, shouldering his backpack. The strained denim was still painfully obvious. He didn’t try to hide it. He gave Jake one last, long look—a look full of chaos and promise—then turned and walked out, his footsteps echoing down the empty hallway.

Jake sat alone in the bleach-smelling silence, the ghost of John’s touch seared into his skin, the shape of him imprinted on the air. The sunbeam had moved, leaving his side of the table in cold shadow.

He looked at the clock. Three hours until dark.

Three hours was a lifetime. Jake went through the motions. He walked back to his apartment through the crisp evening air, not feeling it. He showered, the water scalding his skin, his mind replaying that single, searing look in John’s eyes on a loop. He tried to eat. The toast turned to ash in his mouth.

At 8:45, he stood at the edge of the deserted track. The stadium lights were off, leaving the oval bathed in the cool blue glow of security lamps. The air smelled of cut grass and cold concrete. His heart was a frantic animal in a cage of ribs.

He saw the silhouette first, broad-shouldered and tense, leaning against the chain-link fence by the equipment shed. John pushed himself upright as Jake approached. They stood five feet apart, the space between them crackling.

“You came,” John said. His voice was flat, stripped of its usual easy warmth.

“You asked.”

John nodded, shoving his hands deep into his jacket pockets. He looked up at the sky, then back at Jake, his expression unreadable in the dim light. “I don’t know what the fuck is happening to me.”

“Join the club.”

A short, harsh laugh escaped John. “Right.” He took a step closer. “All day. I couldn’t think. I just kept feeling… that. From class. And it was because of you. Sitting there. Just… existing.”

The words were an accusation. A gift. Jake couldn’t breathe.

“What does that mean?” Jake whispered.

“It means I’m losing my mind.” John closed the final distance. He didn’t touch Jake, just loomed, his presence overwhelming. “I have a date with Lisa tomorrow night. I was thinking about what movie to take her to, and I got hard again. Because I was thinking about telling her no. About being here instead.”

Jake’s control snapped. He reached out, fisting his hand in the front of John’s jacket, pulling him in. Their mouths crashed together.

It wasn’t a kiss. It was a collision. Teeth, stubble, raw pressure. John grunted, a sound of pure shock, then his hands came up and grabbed Jake’s face, holding him still, and he took over. The kiss deepened, turning wet, desperate, and brutally clumsy. John tasted like mint and cheap beer. He kissed like he was trying to consume something, to solve a problem with his mouth.

When they broke apart, they were both gasping. John’s eyes were wild.

“I need…” John started, then shook his head, his breath puffing white in the cold air. “I need to know if this is real.”

“What?”

John’s jaw worked. He looked away, then back, his gaze dropping deliberately. “I want you to do something for me. Something a girl would never do. Something that would… make this real.”

A cold trickle of apprehension slid down Jake’s spine, but it was drowned in a flood of heat. “What?”

John turned and walked toward the open shed, a dark maw smelling of fertilizer and weathered wood. He stopped in the shadows just inside. When he looked back, his face was all harsh angles and darkness. “Come here.”

Jake followed, his legs unsteady. The shed was pitch black after the ambient blue of the track. He could hear John breathing, hear the rustle of his clothes.

“Turn around,” John said, his voice rough. “Face the wall.”

A command. Jake obeyed, his forehead coming to rest against the cool, rough plywood. He heard the rasp of a zipper, the shuffle of jeans being shoved down. His own body was screaming.

Then John’s hands were on his shoulders, turning him back around. John had his jeans and briefs around his thighs, his impressive erection jutting upward. But he wasn’t presenting that. He was turned, looking over his shoulder, his expression a grimace of fear and defiant want.

“I want you to eat my ass,” John said, the words blunt, obscene in the quiet dark. “I’ve never… nobody’s ever done that. I need to know you want it. All of it. The part that isn’t clean.”

The request hung in the fetid air. It was a test. A line. The most vulnerable, dirty thing John could think of. A way to make this so undeniably real, so irrevocably not straight, that there’d be no going back to pretending.

Jake’s mind went blank for a second, consumed by a static roar. Then every fantasy, every hungry, secret thought he’d ever had about John, coalesced into a single, driving need. To have him. To be the first. To be the only.

“Yeah,” Jake heard himself say, his voice already thick. “Okay.”

John braced his hands against the wall, his head bowed. The musky, distinctly human scent of sweat and skin filled Jake’s senses as he knelt on the cold, dirty concrete. It was pungent, earthy, the smell of a long day and athletic exertion. It was honest. Jake didn’t care. He leaned in, his heart hammering against his sternum, and pressed his mouth to him.

John jerked, a full-body flinch, and a choked sound ripped from his throat. His hands fisted against the plywood. Jake did it again, licking a slow, firm stripe. The taste was salt and skin and something fundamentally John. It was not sanitized. It was not pretty. It was overwhelming.

And it was the most electric thing Jake had ever felt.

A deep, guttural moan tore from John’s chest, something broken and grateful. He pushed back against Jake’s mouth, his hips shifting. “Fuck,” he breathed, the word trembling. “Fuck, Jake…”

Jake lost himself in it. In the brutal intimacy, the total surrender. He worked him open with his tongue, listening to John’s ragged breaths turn into low, continuous groans. The shed, the world, everything narrowed to this dark space, this smell, this taste, this powerful man coming completely undone above him.

John’s thighs began to shake. His groans turned urgent. He reached back blindly, his hand finding Jake’s hair, not pushing, just clutching, holding him there as if he was the only anchor in a storm.

“Stop,” John gasped suddenly. “Stop, I’m gonna…”

Jake pulled back, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. John turned, his movements frantic, his jeans still tangled around his legs. He grabbed Jake by the front of his shirt and hauled him up, slamming him back against the wall and kissing him again, deep and messy, a hand fumbling between them.

It was fast, and frantic, and silent except for their ragged breathing and the slick, hurried sound of John’s fist. He broke the kiss, burying his face in Jake’s neck, his body bowing tight. A hot, wet stripe painted Jake’s jeans. John shuddered, a series of full-body tremors, and went limp against him, his weight heavy, his breath hot and damp on Jake’s skin.

They stood like that for a long minute, in the dark, in the smell of sex and dirt and fertilizer.

John slowly straightened. He didn’t look at Jake as he pulled his clothes back up, the zipper loud in the quiet. He ran a hand through his hair, his back turned.

“I have to go,” John said, his voice hollow.

He walked out of the shed without looking back, disappearing into the blue night.

Jake slid down the wall until he was sitting on the concrete, the cold seeping through his clothes. He touched his lips. They felt bruised, alive. The taste of John was still on his tongue. He sat there in the profound silence, the echo of John’s moans the only thing left in the dark.
