Chapter 3: Voluptuous Betrayal

The lump didn’t stay a lump.

Chad sat on the couch for an hour, his hand a tense shield over the warm, smooth patch on his thigh. He told himself it was fine. A weird bump. A story for the gym. You won’t believe what my idiot roommate left lying around. But the warmth didn’t fade. It seeped deeper, a slow, chemical burn working its way into the muscle fiber.

A prickle, like a thousand tiny needles, started at the injection site and fanned out across his hip. He stood up, a jerky movement, and hobbled to the bathroom again. He needed to see. Needed to confirm it was just his imagination.

The fluorescent light buzzed overhead, harsh and revealing. He shoved his shorts down again and twisted, catching the reflection of his back and legs in the mirror.

The smooth patch had grown. It was now a substantial, rounded swell on his outer hip, softening the sharp V-line of his pelvis. The skin there was flawless, tanning-bed even, a stark contrast to his paler, natural tone. And it was spreading. Tendrils of that perfect, poreless skin were creeping around to the front of his hip, towards his abdomen.

“No,” he whispered.

As if hearing him, the process accelerated.

A searing heat bloomed in his lower back, twin points on either side of his spine. He gasped, grabbing the edge of the sink. The bones there, the iliac crests, felt like they were softening, pushing outward. A deep, internal cracking echoed in his ears, a sound not of breaking but of reshaping. He watched, helpless, as his waist narrowed. It wasn’t weight loss; it was as if an invisible belt was cinching him, pulling his structure inwards just above the hips.

His sweatpants, loose before, suddenly grew tight around the waistband. He fumbled with the drawstring, loosening it. But the pressure didn’t come from his waist. It came from below.

The heat in his back and hips intensified, becoming a furious, blossoming ache. The siligel, without a template, wasn’t stopping at one lump. It was reading his panic, his elevated heart rate, maybe the leftover chemical traces of Kyle’s full-body transformation in the air. It was improvising.

His glutes, already developed from years of squats, began to swell. But not with the familiar, dense muscle fiber he knew. This was an explosive, subcutaneous expansion. The grey fabric of his sweatpants strained across his rear, the seams shrieking. The curve wasn’t just bigger; it was a different shape. Higher. Rounder. An exaggerated, shelf-like protrusion that threw his posture forward.

He heard a long, slow rrrrip. A seam at the back of his left thigh gave way. Cool bathroom air hit new skin.

“Oh, come on!”

His chest tightened next. A sympathetic heat, a mirror response. He looked down, watching in detached horror as his pectoral muscles, defined and flat, began to loosen. They didn’t just grow; they liquefied and reformed. The hard slabs softened, becoming malleable, then pushed forward, rounding into two distinct, heavy masses. They felt anchored, a deep, unfamiliar weight that changed his balance. His t-shirt, once loose, now pulled taut across the new contours.

A wave of dizziness hit him. He slumped back against the bathroom wall, his breathing ragged. The changes weren’t stopping. They were feeding into each other. His hips widened further with a series of soft, palpable creaks. Another seam on his sweatpants popped, this time near the crotch. The fabric was surrendering.

His face felt hot, then cold. A crawling sensation scurried across his jawline, up his cheeks. He forced himself to look in the mirror.

His face was… smoothing. The stubble shadow on his jaw receded as if time-lapsing backwards. His jaw itself lost its angularity, the bone softening into a softer, heart-shaped curve. His lips, thin and usually pressed in concentration, tingled and swelled, becoming fuller, poutier. His nose refined, the bridge thinning slightly.

But the most disturbing change was his skin. His Caucasian pallor, tinted with ruddy gym flush, was being overlaid with a warm, golden-olive tone. It spread like a tide, a perfect, even tan from his newly-formed cleavage to his now-smoothing forehead. His dark body hair lightened, then vanished completely, leaving his arms and legs sleek.

He was a patchwork monster, half-Chad, half-someone else. A statuesque, curvaceous stranger being assembled over his original frame.

The front door banged open.

“I got sent home!” Kyle’s voice—Kayla’s voice—shouted from the living room, thick with frustration. “Manager said my ‘energy was off.’ My energy! I’m literally made of borrowed time and synthetic fat, of course my energy is off!”

Footsteps clicked toward the bathroom. Chad tried to call out, to warn him, but his voice caught. It didn’t sound right. It was higher, strained.

Kyle appeared in the doorway, still in the orange shorts and knotted top, her makeup smudged. She was mid-rant. “So I basically just paid forty bucks in Uber fees for a two-hour shift that—“

She stopped. Her eyes, lined in black, went impossibly wide. Her mouth, glossy pink, fell open.

She took in the scene: Chad, propped against the wall, his sweatpants split and sagging, revealing the sweeping, dramatic new curves of his hips and thighs. His t-shirt stretched obscenely over a full, rounded bust. The face, a haunting blend of Chad’s features and a stunning, unknown woman’s, flushed with gold-toned panic.

For a full ten seconds, there was only the buzz of the fluorescent light.

“Chad?” The word was a breath.

“It… it didn’t stop,” Chad said. His new voice was alto, smoky, laced with a faint, indefinable accent that wasn’t his. It vibrated in his throat wrong. It felt performed.

Kyle surged forward, her performer’s shock morphing into a technician’s urgency. She pushed the bathroom door mostly shut, enclosing them in the tight, bright space. Her hands flew to his face, turning it toward the light. Her fingers prodded the soft jaw, brushed the full lips.

“You used more,” she accused, her voice low. “You idiot, you used the fresh vial!”

“I didn’t!” The new voice broke, surprisingly emotional. “I told you, it was the drop on the nozzle! It just… it kept going.”

Kyle’s gaze swept down his body, clinical and appraising. She saw the split seams, the new, expansive geography under the straining clothes. A weird, hysterical laugh bubbled in her throat. “Holy shit. It’s building a whole aesthetic. Without a template… it’s pulling from ambient data. Cultural signifiers. It’s giving you… a theme.”

“A theme?” Chad’s new voice rose in pitch. “What the hell does that mean?”

“It means you’re not just getting bigger boobs, bro. You’re getting Latina bombshell boobs. That skin tone? Those hip-to-waist ratios?” She gestured vaguely at his form. “It’s a composite. An algorithm’s idea of… maximum visual impact. You’re turning into a spicy Instagram filter.”

As if to prove her point, a final, profound shift occurred in Chad’s chest. The weight there settled, becoming impossibly heavier, fuller. With a soft ping, the stressed neckline of his cotton t-shirt gave way. A button flew off, hitting the mirror with a tiny click.

They both stared at his reflection. The torn shirt gaped open, revealing the deep, shadowed cleft of a substantial, flawless cleavage. The breasts weren’t just large; they were perfectly shaped, high and round, the skin the same uniform, warm gold as the rest of him.

Chad made a sound, a choked-off gasp that was entirely feminine in its distress.

Kyle’s professional detachment finally shattered. “Okay. Okay, okay. This is bad. This is really, phenomenally bad.” She ran a hand through her blonde extensions. “The dose is too big. It’s a cascade. It’s going to keep going until it runs out of gel or hits a stable form.”

“What’s the stable form?” Chad asked, dread icing his new, alien spine.

“This, probably!” Kyle waved at all of him. “It could take hours to fully settle. We have to… contain this.”

“Contain it? How?!” Chad looked down at the wreckage of his clothes, at the body that had replaced his own. The reality of it crashed down—the weight on his chest, the width of his hips, the strange, empty ache between his legs where everything had been pressed flat and rearranged. A visceral, gender-deep nausea rolled through him. “I feel… I feel all wrong.”

For the first time, Kyle’s expression softened into something like pity. It was brief, smothered by panic. “We need to get you out of these clothes. Before you completely destroy your only pair of sweats. And we need to… assess.”

Chad numbly allowed Kyle to help him. They peeled the torn t-shirt over his head, the movement awkward with the new obstructions on his chest. He stepped out of the ruined sweatpants, which fell in a tattered ring around his ankles.

He stood naked in the buzzing light.

He was a masterpiece of recombinant biology. A body built for stares. Every curve was exaggerated, dialled to eleven. His waist nipped in dramatically above the outrageous sweep of his hips and buttocks. His legs were long and sleek, tapering to surprisingly delicate ankles. And his chest was a blatant, breathtaking focal point.

He couldn’t look away from the reflection. The person in the mirror was breathtakingly beautiful. And it was the most terrifying thing he had ever seen.

Kyle whistled low, the sound slipping out before she could stop it. “Wow. I mean… wow. The algorithm has no chill.”

“Shut up,” Chad said, the smoky voice cracking. He wrapped his arms around himself, a futile gesture to hide what couldn’t be hidden.

“Right. Sorry.” Kyle snapped back into action. “We need clothes. My stuff won’t fit you… you’re taller. The hips might, but the shoulders…” She chewed her glossed lip. “Stay here.”

She dashed out, returning a minute later with an armful of fabric. It was Chad’s own clothes—a pair of stretchy basketball shorts and a large, loose hoodie. “These have the best chance,” she said, thrusting them at him.

Getting dressed was a clumsy, humiliating ballet. The basketball shorts stretched to their limit over the new hips but wouldn’t cinch at his narrowed waist. They hung low, threatening to slide down. The hoodie was worse. It fit his shoulders, but over the new chest, it zipped up only halfway, straining massively over the bust and hanging open in a deep V. The fabric draped in ways it was never designed to.

He looked absurd. A gym rat’s clothes on a pin-up model’s body.

Kyle assessed him, her head tilted. “It’s… a look. ‘Disgraced WNBA star.’ We’ll work with it.” She took a deep breath. “Okay. Priority one: nobody sees you like this.
