Chapter 1: Introduction
**Sam**
"Fuck me, what the hell is going on?" I muttered, staring at the stranger in the reflection. My heart pounded like a kick drum in my chest, echoing through the small, antiseptic bathroom. I blinked, rubbed my eyes, and blinked again. The image didn't change.
My body... it was different. Curves in places I didn't remember having, and a bulge where there shouldn't be one. I was... I was... I couldn't even think the word.
I reached out a trembling hand, tracing the outline of the unfamiliar flesh through my jumpsuit.
It felt real enough, but this... this wasn't possible. I was Sam, the tough-as-nails engineer who kept this godforsaken colony running. I didn't have time for this kind of... of... whatever this was.
I splashed some water on my face, trying to wash away the shock. When I looked up, the stranger in the mirror was still there, staring back at me with wide, frightened eyes. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what was to come. I had to figure this out, had to understand what had happened to me, and why.
I stumbled out of the bathroom, bumping into the cool, metal wall of my quarters. The lights flickered on automatically, casting stark shadows that seemed to accentuate my disheveled appearance.
"Sam? You okay in there?" A voice echoed through the thin partition between my quarters and those of my best friend, Alex. "You've been in there for ages."
Alex. Of course, he'd heard me. He heard everything, always had. It was part of what made him such a good medic. I hesitated, considering telling him about... this. But what could I say?
"Hey Alex, I woke up today and I've got... I've got a dick." I shuddered at the thought. No, I needed to keep this to myself, at least until I understood it better.
"I'm fine," I called back, trying to keep my voice steady. "Just... not feeling great. Must've eaten something bad."
There was a pause, then Alex's voice came again, laced with concern. "You sure? You sound... off. Want me to come over?"
I leaned against the wall, closing my eyes. I did want him here, but not like this.
Not with this... this thing between my legs. I needed time to process, to understand. "No, really, I'm fine," I lied. "Just need some rest. I'll catch you later, yeah?"
Another pause, then a sigh. "Alright, Sam. But if you change your mind, you know where to find me." His footsteps retreated, and his door slid shut with a soft hiss.
I let out a breath I didn't realize I'd been holding. I was alone, for now. I needed to get a grip, to think. I paced my quarters, my mind racing.
I needed answers, needed to understand what had happened to me. I grabbed my tablet from the table, swiping through the colony's medical database. I searched for anything that could explain my sudden... transformation. But the database was as sterile as the colony itself, offering no useful information.
I sighed, running a hand through my short, dark hair. I needed to talk to someone, someone who might understand. My thoughts turned to Alex. He was a medic, after all. Maybe he could help, maybe he'd seen something like this before. But the thought of showing him, of admitting what had happened...
it made my stomach churn. I pushed the thought aside, for now. I needed to focus on finding answers, not on the awkwardness of my situation.
I decided to take a walk, clear my head. The colony's main thoroughfare was bustling with people going about their daily lives, oblivious to the secret I carried. I kept my head down, avoiding eye contact, not ready to face the world just yet.
As I walked, I passed by the colony's central hub, a sprawling, domed structure that housed the colony's administrative offices, as well as the medbay.
I hesitated, my gaze drawn to the familiar green sign that marked the entrance to the medbay. Could I? Should I?
"Sam, hey! Wait up!"
I turned to see Alex jogging towards me, his white lab coat flapping behind him. I sighed internally, steeling myself for the conversation I'd been dreading.
"Hey, Alex," I said, trying to keep my voice casual. "What's up?"
He reached me, his brow furrowed with concern. "I've been thinking about you. You sure you're okay? You look...
different," he said, his eyes scanning me up and down. I felt a flush creep up my neck, hoping he didn't notice the subtle difference in my silhouette.
"Just not feeling myself today, Alex," I deflected, looking away. "You know how it is."
He studied me for a moment, then nodded, accepting my explanation for now. "Well, if you change your mind, or if you just want to talk, you know you can always come to me, right?"
I managed a small smile, grateful for his friendship. "I know, Alex.
Thanks," I replied, genuinely appreciative. We fell into step together, walking towards the colony's recreational dome. The hum of conversation and the faint scent of food wafted through the air as we approached the entrance.
"You hungry?" Alex asked, gesturing towards the food stalls lining the dome's perimeter. "I could go for some of Chef's noodles."
I hesitated, my appetite suddenly nonexistent. The thought of eating, of being surrounded by people, made my stomach churn. But I also didn't want to raise Alex's suspicions further.
"Sure, why not," I said, forcing a casual tone.
We joined the line at Chef's stall, the aroma of sizzling noodles doing little to entice me. Alex ordered for both of us, his chatter filling the silence as we waited. I nodded along, offering the occasional "Mhm" or "Yeah," my mind elsewhere.
We found a table near the edge of the dome, the expansive view of the stars beyond a stark reminder of our isolation. Alex dug into his food with enthusiasm, while I picked at mine, my appetite still elusive.
"So, what's been going on with you?" Alex asked between mouthfuls, his eyes scanning my face.
"You've been quiet lately, and now this... not feeling well thing. Spill it, Sam."
I sighed, pushing my noodles around my plate. I wanted to tell him, needed to tell someone, but the words stuck in my throat. How do you even start a conversation like that?
"Sam, come on," Alex prodded, leaning in. "You can talk to me, you know. Whatever it is, I'm here for you."
I looked up at him, his gaze steady and sincere. He was my best friend, had been since we'd arrived at the colony together.
I knew he meant every word, and that made it even harder to admit what had happened.
"It's... it's not something I can just talk about, Alex," I started, my voice barely above a whisper. "Something's happened to me, something... something I don't understand."
Alex's expression turned serious, his fork clattering onto his plate. "What do you mean? Are you sick? Do you need to go to the medbay?"
I shook my head, looking down at my hands, unable to meet his gaze. "No, it's not... it's not like that.
It's... it's my body, Alex. It's changed," I admitted, my voice barely audible. I felt the heat rise in my cheeks, a blush spreading across my face.
Alex's eyebrows furrowed, confusion etched on his face. "Changed? What do you mean, changed? Like, you're injured or something?"
I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what I was about to say. "No, Alex. It's not an injury. It's... it's a part." I looked up at him, my eyes pleading for understanding. "I woke up this morning, and I have...
an extra part," I finished, my voice barely above a whisper. I saw the confusion in Alex's eyes shift to realization, then disbelief, mirroring my own journey of discovery.
"An extra part?" he echoed, his voice laced with skepticism. "Sam, what are you talking about?" He leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Are you saying you've got... you've got a dick?"
I winced at the crass term, but nodded nonetheless. "Yeah," I admitted, my voice barely audible. "I mean, I think so.
I'm not..." I trailed off, struggling to find the words. "I'm not used to looking at it like that. I don't know what it is, exactly."
Alex sat back in his chair, his eyes wide with shock. "But... how? I mean, that's not... that's not possible, is it? We're not built like that, Sam."
I shrugged helplessly. "I don't know, Alex. I wish I did. All I know is, I woke up this morning, and it was there. And I'm scared.
I don't know what this means, for me, for my life here on the colony. I don't know if it's permanent, or if there's a way to... to reverse it. I don't even know if I want to."
Alex stared at me, his mouth agape. I could see the wheels turning in his head, no doubt trying to process the information and come up with a logical explanation. But there was no explanation, not one that made any sense, anyway.
"Sam, this... this is crazy," he finally said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I mean, what does this mean?
For you, for us, for the colony?" Alex's eyes darted around nervously, as if expecting someone to overhear our conversation.
I sighed, leaning back in my chair. I honestly don't. All I know is, I need to figure this out. I need to understand what's happening to me, and how to deal with it."
Alex nodded, his expression turning determined. "Okay, then. Let's figure this out. Together."
I looked at him, gratitude welling up inside me. "Together? You...
you're not freaked out?" I asked, surprised by his calm reaction.
Alex shrugged, a small smile playing on his lips. "Well, it's not every day your best friend wakes up with a... unique appendage. But hey, it's you, Sam. If anyone can handle this, it's you."
I managed a weak smile, appreciative of his support. "Thanks, Alex. I just... I don't know what to do. I don't know how to process this."
Alex leaned in, his voice low. "First things first, we need to get you checked out.
Properly, this time," Alex said, his gaze firm. "I know you've been to the medbay before, but this... this is different. We need to rule out any underlying conditions, any potential threats to your health, or the colony's."
I nodded, understanding his concern. The thought of putting others at risk was terrifying, especially now that I had no idea what this new part of me was capable of.
"Alright, let's go," I agreed, pushing my half-eaten noodles away. Alex stood up, grabbing our trays and stacking them on a nearby conveyer belt for recycling.
"Let's go to the medbay right now," he said, his voice firm with determination. "We need to get you checked out, and we need to do it discreetly."
I raised an eyebrow at him. "Discreetly? Alex, it's not like I can hide this," I said, gesturing vaguely towards my lower half.
Alex frowned, thinking for a moment. "You're right. But we can still be careful. We'll go through the service tunnels, avoid the main corridors.
Less chance of running into anyone that way," Alex suggested, his eyes scanning the dome, ensuring no one was within earshot.
I nodded, grateful for his foresight. "Okay, let's do it."
We left the recreation dome, turning left towards the maintenance access panel. Alex swiftly opened it, revealing the dimly lit tunnel beyond. I followed him in, the cool air sending a shiver down my spine.
"Here, take this," Alex said, handing me a small flashlight from his pocket.
"It's a bit of a maze down here, and I don't want you crashing into any pipes or wires."
I took the flashlight, giving him a small smile. "Thanks, Mom," I teased, clicking it on.
Alex rolled his eyes, but I could see the tension in his shoulders easing. "Very funny," he muttered, leading the way down the narrow tunnel.
We walked in silence, the only sounds our footsteps echoing off the metal walls and the distant hum of the colony's machinery. I followed Alex's lead, trying to keep my mind off the uncertainty that lay ahead.
The service tunnels were a labyrinth of narrow passages and low ceilings, a stark contrast to the sleek, modern corridors of the colony proper. The air was cool and damp, carrying a faint scent of ozone and something else, something metallic that made my nose wrinkle.
"Almost there," Alex murmured, rounding a bend. "The medbay has a private entrance down here. We should be able to slip in without anyone seeing us."
I nodded, grateful for his knowledge of the colony's hidden paths. We turned another corner, and I saw a small, unmarked door set into the wall.
Alex approached it, pressing his palm against a small scanner to the side. A soft beep sounded, and the door slid open, revealing a small, sterile room.
"Welcome to the medbay's VIP entrance," Alex said, stepping inside. I followed, the door sliding shut behind us with a soft hiss.
"VIP?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Since when do we have VIPs on this colony?" "Since the brass decided they needed a private entrance for their... special guests," he said, making air quotes around the last two words.
"You know how it is, Sam. The higher-ups always want to be treated differently."
I rolled my eyes, but said nothing. I'd always hated the favoritism that came with rank, but now wasn't the time to get into that particular argument.
Alex led me through the familiar, yet eerily quiet, corridors of the medbay. The usual hum of activity was nowhere to be found, and the lights seemed too bright, too harsh in the silence.
"Where is everyone?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Shift change," Alex replied, his voice equally soft.
"Most of the staff will be in the break room, grabbing a bite before their shift starts. We should have some time to get you checked out without being seen."
We reached the examination room, its door sliding open with a soft whoosh. The room was small, dominated by a large, adjustable bed in the center. Various medical devices and equipment lined the walls, their sterile surfaces gleaming under the harsh overhead lights. "Alright, let's get this over with," I said, my voice steady despite the butterflies in my stomach.
I climbed onto the bed, the paper crinkling beneath me. Alex pulled a rolling stool over, sitting down in front of me.
"Sam, I... I don't know how to ask this," he started, his eyes flicking up to meet mine briefly before darting away again. "But I need to know... have you... um... have you used it yet?"
I raised an eyebrow, taken aback by the question. "Used it?
Alex, are you seriously asking me if I've masturbated with... with this thing?" I asked, my voice laced with disbelief and a hint of anger. I couldn't believe he was asking me such a personal, invasive question.
Alex winced, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm sorry, Sam. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. It's just... it's a legitimate medical question. I need to know if there's been any... activity, to assess the situation properly."
I stared at him for a moment, my mouth agape. Then, I sighed, shaking my head.
I haven't. I woke up, freaked out, and came straight here. I haven't even touched it, let alone... used it." I couldn't believe I was having this conversation, but here we were.
Alex nodded, his eyes still avoidant. "Okay, that's good to know. Now, let's... let's get this over with." He stood up, rolling his stool back and turning to the array of medical tools and devices.
I watched as he selected a small, handheld scanner, similar to the ones used to check vitals.
He turned back to me, his expression now all business, any trace of awkwardness gone. That was Alex, professional to the core. I'm going to need you to... um... drop your pants," he said, his voice clinical. I could see the effort he was making to keep this situation as normal as possible, and I appreciated it more than I could express.
I took a deep breath, unbuckled my belt, and pushed my jumpsuit down to my knees. I couldn't look at him, couldn't bear to see the reaction in his eyes when he saw it.
I stared at the ceiling, focusing on the hum of the lights instead. Alex was silent for a moment, then I heard the rustle of fabric as he knelt down in front of me. I'm going to examine you now," he said, his voice steady and professional. I nodded, my throat too tight to speak. I felt his hands on my thighs, warm and gentle, positioning me so he could get a better look.
I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to block out the reality of the situation.
This was Alex, my best friend, the person I trusted most in the world. If I couldn't be vulnerable with him, who could I be vulnerable with?
I felt his fingers, cool and impersonal, brushing against my new... appendage. I flinched involuntarily, my breath hitching in my throat.
"Sorry," Alex murmured, his touch retreating. "I didn't mean to startle you."
"It's okay," I managed to say, my voice barely above a whisper. "Just... just do what you need to do."
He nodded, his fingers returning, this time with the scanner.
I felt the cool metal press against my skin, the hum of the device filling the silence. Alex moved the scanner methodically, his brow furrowed in concentration. I could see the questions in his eyes, the confusion, but he kept them to himself, focusing on the task at hand.
After what felt like an eternity, he finally spoke. "Okay, I've got something," he said, his voice tight. "It's... it's not like anything I've ever seen before. It's... it's almost like a... a third leg, but not quite.
It's... it's got features, structures, that I can't explain. And it's... it's reacting to your nervous system, your hormones. It's not just... attached, it's integrated."
I swallowed hard, trying to process his words. "So, it's... it's a part of me now?"
Alex nodded, his expression grave. "As far as I can tell, yes. I mean, I need to run some more tests, do some scans, but based on what I'm seeing here..." He trailed off, shaking his head. "I don't know how this is possible, Sam.
I mean, we're not built like this. We're not supposed to have... to have that," Alex said, gesturing vaguely towards my lower half. I could see the struggle in his eyes, the battle between his medical training and his personal beliefs.
I sighed, pulling my jumpsuit back up and buckling my belt. Believe me, I know. But it's here, and I need to deal with it. We need to deal with it," I said, my voice firm with determination.
Alex nodded, his expression turning resolute. I'm sorry, Sam.
I wish I could say something to make this better, but... I don't know what to say," Alex admitted, running a hand through his hair. "This is... this is way beyond anything I've ever encountered."
I gave him a small smile, appreciative of his honesty. "It's okay, Alex. I don't expect you to have all the answers. I just need you to help me figure this out, okay?"
He nodded, his expression turning determined. "Okay. Let's start with some more tests.
I want to get a full scan of this... this new organ, for lack of a better term. And I want to run some blood work, check your hormone levels, see if there's anything unusual there," Alex said, standing up and rolling his stool back to its original position.
I nodded, steeling myself for the barrage of tests to come. "Okay, let's do it. The sooner we figure this out, the better."
Alex disappeared through a nearby door, returning a moment later with a portable scanner. He helped me lie back on the bed, positioning the scanner over my lower abdomen.
The machine hummed to life, casting a soft blue glow on the ceiling above. I stared at the patterns it created, trying to distract myself from the anxiety churning in my stomach. The silence between us was heavy, filled with unspoken questions and concerns.
As the scan neared completion, Alex's expression turned thoughtful. "Sam, I've noticed something," he said, his voice hesitant. "This... this new part of you, it's not just responding to your nervous system. It's also reacting to your emotions."
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued despite myself. "What do you mean?"
Alex gestured to the scanner, now paused mid-scan. "Well, look at this.
When you're anxious, like you were earlier, it's... it's responding," Alex explained, pointing to a section of the scan that showed increased activity in the new organ. "And now, when you're calm, it's... it's settling down, if you will."
I processed this new information, my mind racing. "So, it's not just... there, doing its own thing. It's connected to me, to my emotions?"
Alex nodded, his eyes scanning the scan results. "It seems that way. Which means, whatever this is, it's not just a physical change. It's... itt's a part of you, in every sense of the word." I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "That's... that's a lot to take in, Alex."
He nodded, giving me a sympathetic look. "I know it is, Sam. I'm sorry. But we need to face this head-on, understand what we're dealing with. And that means being honest with ourselves, and with each other."
I looked at him, grateful for his unwavering support. Okay, let's do this. Let's figure this out, together."
Alex smiled, his expression turning determined. "That's the spirit.
Now, let's get you prepped for the blood test," Alex said, walking over to a nearby cabinet and pulling out a sterilized needle and a vacutainer tube. He sat down on a rolling stool next to the bed, his eyes meeting mine. "You ready?"
I took a deep breath and nodded. "As ready as I'll ever be."
Alex tied a tourniquet around my arm, tapping gently on the vein beneath my skin. "You know, I've never had to draw your blood before," he mused, a small smile playing on his lips.
"It's usually the other way around, with you patching me up after one of my 'adventures'."
I laughed, grateful for the distraction. "Yeah, well, I guess this is just another one of your infamous adventures, isn't it?"
Alex chuckled, his fingers deftly finding the vein. "I suppose it is. Alright, here we go," he said, inserting the needle with practiced ease. I winced slightly at the pinch, but it was over in an instant. Alex filled the vacutainer tube, his eyes focused on his task.
Once he was done, he withdrew the needle and pressed a square of gauze against the tiny puncture wound. "There you go," he said, giving me a reassuring smile. "All done."
I let out a sigh of relief, my body relaxing against the bed. "Thanks, Doc," I teased, grinning at him. "Very funny, Sam.
Now, let's get you into a gown so we can run some more tests," Alex said, standing up and grabbing a disposable gown from a nearby cabinet. He handed it to me, along with a pair of disposable underwear. "Here, put these on. I'll be back in a few minutes to take you to the MRI machine."
I took the gown and underwear from him, giving him a small salute. "Yes, sir. I'll be ready when you get back."
Alex rolled his eyes, but I could see the hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Very funny.
I'll be back in a few," Alex said, exiting the room and leaving me alone with my thoughts. I slipped out of my jumpsuit, pulling the disposable gown over my head and tying it closed. The gown was thin, the fabric soft and smooth against my skin. I could feel the cool air of the medbay against my legs, a stark reminder of the changes my body had undergone.
I sat on the edge of the bed, my heart pounding in my chest. I tried to focus on my breathing, tried to calm the storm of emotions raging inside me.
But it was no use. My mind was a whirlwind of fear, confusion, and a strange, new sensation that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I looked down at the unfamiliar bulge beneath the disposable gown, feeling a mix of revulsion and curiosity. What was happening to me? And more importantly, what was I going to do about it?
The door to the examination room slid open, and Alex walked in, his expression serious. "Alright, Sam, let's get you to the MRI machine," he said, extending a hand to help me off the bed.
I took it, grateful for the physical contact, the reassurance it provided. "How are you holding up?" Alex asked, his voice low as we walked down the corridor.
I took a deep breath, considering his question. "Honestly? I'm scared, Alex. I don't know what's happening to me, and I don't know what this means for my future. But," I added, squaring my shoulders, "I'm determined to figure this out. No matter what it takes."
Alex nodded, admiration clear in his eyes.
"That's the spirit, Sam. We'll face this together, and we'll figure it out. I promise."
We reached the MRI machine, a large, circular device with a narrow opening in the center. It reminded me of a giant mechanical jaw, ready to swallow me whole. I swallowed hard, trying to push down the sudden wave of claustrophobia that threatened to overwhelm me.
"Okay, climb on in," Alex said, patting the table that would slide into the machine. "I'll be right here with you the whole time.
You won't be alone," Alex reassured me, sensing my apprehension. I took a deep breath and climbed onto the table, lying down on my back. I closed my eyes, trying to calm my racing heart as the table began to slide into the machine.
The MRI machine hummed to life, the sound echoing around me like a mechanical symphony. I focused on my breathing, in and out, in and out, trying to block out the noise and the confined space. It was surprisingly comfortable, the table contouring to my body with a soft, warm cushion.
I kept my eyes closed, focusing on the rhythm of my breath, in and out, in and out. The machine whirred and clicked around me, the sounds muffled and distant.
"Alright, Sam, you're doing great," Alex's voice came through the intercom, steady and reassuring. "We're about halfway through. Just a little longer."
I nodded, even though I knew he couldn't see me. I took a deep breath, my stomach fluttering with nerves. "Alex, can I ask you something?" I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Of course," he replied immediately.
"What's on your mind?"
I hesitated for a moment, trying to find the right words. "Do you... do you think this is permanent?" I asked, my voice barely audible in the confines of the MRI machine.
There was a pause on the other end before Alex responded, his voice measured and careful. "I honest to god don't know, Sam. I wish I could give you a definitive answer, but this... this is beyond anything I've ever seen or learned about. It could be temporary, it could be permanent.
Until we have more information, until we understand what caused this, we can't make any assumptions," Alex said, his voice steady and reassuring. "But Sam, whatever happens, we'll face it together. You're not alone in this."
I let out a slow breath, his words calming the storm inside me. "Thank you, Alex. That means a lot," I said, my voice steadier than I felt.
The MRI machine whirred to life again, the sound filling the silence between us. I closed my eyes, focusing on the rhythm of the machine, the in and out of my breath.
The silence was deafening, broken only by the occasional beep or hum of the equipment. I tried to distract myself, to think about anything but the uncertainty that lay ahead. But my mind kept drifting back to the same question: Why me?
Alex's voice cut through my thoughts, reassuring and steady. "We're almost done, Sam. Just a few more minutes."
I nodded, even though he couldn't see me. The table began to move, sliding back out of the machine. I blinked, adjusting to the sudden brightness of the room. Alex was there, his face a picture of concern.
"How are you feeling?" he asked, helping me sit up.
I took a moment to assess myself. Physically, I felt fine. Mentally, I was a mess. "I'm okay," I said, offering him a small smile. "Just ready to get out of here."
He nodded, understanding. "Let's get you back to the exam room. I want to go over the scans and the blood work before we decide our next move."
We walked back to the exam room in silence, the weight of the unknown hanging heavy between us.
Once inside, Alex immediately began to pull up the scans on the holo-screen, his brow furrowed in concentration.
I watched as he navigated through the three-dimensional images, his fingers dancing in the air as he manipulated the holographic controls. He was in his element, his medical training and expertise taking over.
"Alright, let's see what we've got," Alex muttered to himself, his eyes scanning the scans intently. I stood beside him, my arms crossed over my chest, trying to keep my anxiety at bay.
"Alex, what are you seeing?"
Alex's eyes flicked up to meet mine, his expression troubled. "It's... it's unlike anything I've ever seen, Sam. This organ, or whatever it is, it's highly vascularized, with a complex network of blood vessels and nerves. It's also responding to your hormone levels, which are... elevated," he said, his voice hesitant.
"Elevated how?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest.
Alex sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"Sam, your testosterone levels are through the roof. And your estrogen levels... they're elevated too, but not as high as the testosterone. It's like your body is in overdrive, producing hormone after hormone."
I stared at him, my mind racing. "Is that... is that why I feel so... so horny all the time?" I couldn't believe I was saying these words, but they needed to be said.
Alex nodded, his cheeks flushing slightly. "Yes, that's a likely explanation. The high testosterone levels, combined with the new... er...
organ, are causing a constant state of arousal. It's not just physical, Sam. Your hormones are affecting your brain, your emotions. It's a perfect storm."
I swallowed hard, trying to process this new information. "So, it's not just... down there. It's in my head too?" And that's what makes this so complicated. We're dealing with a physical change that's also affecting your psychology. It's a double whammy." "Great. Just great.
So, what do we do now?" I felt like I was drowning, struggling to keep my head above water in this sea of uncertainty and confusion. Alex put a comforting hand on my shoulder, his eyes filled with concern and determination.
"We take this one step at a time, Sam. First, we need to monitor your hormone levels closely. If this is indeed causing your constant arousal, we might be able to regulate it with medication. It won't reverse the physical changes, but it could help manage the symptoms," Alex explained, his voice steady and reassuring.
"And in the meantime, we'll keep researching, keep looking for answers. We won't stop until we understand what's happening to you, Sam."
I nodded, grateful for his unwavering support. Let's try the medication and see if it helps."
Alex gave me a small smile, his eyes filled with determination. Now, let's get you started on the meds. I want to monitor you closely, especially in the beginning. So, you'll be staying here in the medbay for tonight."
I raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Stay here?
In the medbay?" I echoed, my eyebrows shooting up. "Alex, I appreciate your concern, but I can't just... stay here. I have a life, responsibilities. I can't just disappear into the medbay for who knows how long." "I know it's not ideal, Sam. But this is serious. We need to monitor your hormone levels, keep an eye on your new... organ. And we need to do it in a controlled environment.
I promise, it won't be for long. Just until we get a handle on this," Alex said, his voice firm yet gentle. I sighed, knowing he was right. As much as I hated the idea of being cooped up in the medbay, I knew it was necessary.
"Fine," I conceded, "but only for tonight. I need to check in with work, let them know I won't be in tomorrow. And I need to... pack some things, if I'm going to be staying here."
Alex nodded, understanding. "Of course. I'll give you some privacy.
I'll be right outside if you need anything," Alex said, stepping out of the exam room and leaving me alone with my thoughts. I took a deep breath, trying to process everything that had happened in the past few hours. My life had been turned upside down, and I was still struggling to find my footing.
I pulled out my communicator, dialing the number for my supervisor at the colony's hydroponics lab. She answered on the second ring, her voice brisk and professional.
"Dr. Hartley speaking," she said, her tone leaving no room for small talk.
"Dr. Hartley, it's Sam," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. "I'm not going to be able to come in tomorrow. I'm... I'm not feeling well." There was a pause on the other end of the line, and I could almost hear the gears turning in her head. "Not feeling well, you say?" she echoed, her voice laced with skepticism. "Yes, ma'am," I said, trying to sound as convincing as possible. "I've been throwing up all night, and I think I have a fever.
I wouldn't want to contagion the rest of the team," I added, hoping that would seal the deal. Dr. Hartley sighed, her voice softening slightly. "Alright, Sam. Take the day off, and if you're not feeling better by tomorrow, let me know. We can't afford to have you spreading whatever this is around the lab." "Thank you, Dr. Hartley," I said, relieved. "Get some rest, Sam. Feel better." She hung up, leaving me alone with my thoughts once again. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the next task at hand.
Packing. I tapped my communicator, contacting Alex. "Hey, I'm going to head home and grab some things. I'll be back in an hour or so." "Sam, are you sure you should be going out in public like this?" Alex's voice was laced with concern. "I'll be fine, Alex. I'll take a private transport, and I'll be in and out. No one will even know I'm there." I tried to sound more confident than I felt. "Alright, but be careful. And if anything...
unusual happens, call me immediately. I'll be here, waiting for your call," Alex said, his voice etched with worry.
"I will, Doc. Don't worry, I can handle myself," I replied, trying to inject some humor into my voice. It fell flat, though, and I could practically hear Alex's sigh through the comms.
"Just... be careful, Sam. Please," he pleaded, his voice softening.
"I will, Alex. I promise," I said, my voice steady and reassuring. I ended the call, slipping my communicator back into my pocket.
I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the journey ahead. I knew Alex was right to be concerned, but I also knew I couldn't stay cooped up in the medbay forever. I needed to face the world, no matter how uncertain it was.
I made my way to the private transport hub, my heart pounding in my chest. I kept my head down, avoiding eye contact with the other colonists as I waited for my transport. When it arrived, I slipped inside, grateful for the privacy.
The transport hummed to life, lifting off from the platform and soaring through the colony's atmosphere.
I leaned back in my seat, trying to relax, but my mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and fears. I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled in the pit of my stomach, the constant reminder of the changes my body had undergone.
As the transport approached my apartment building, I felt a familiar heat begin to build between my legs. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, trying to ignore the growing hardness that pressed against my thigh. Damn it, not now, I thought, gritting my teeth in frustration. But my body had other plans.
The heat between my legs intensified, my cock throbbing painfully against the fabric of my jumpsuit. I bit back a groan, trying to will the unwanted arousal away. My body was a traitor, responding to its own desires despite my attempts to rein it in.
The transport landed with a soft thud, the doors sliding open to reveal the bustling streets of the colony. I stepped out, my heart pounding in my chest. I needed to get home, and fast. I needed to relieve this fucking ache in my groin before it drove me insane.
I hurried to my apartment, my breath coming in short, sharp gasps. The heat between my legs was almost unbearable, my cock throbbing relentlessly. I could feel the dampness of my arousal seeping through my jumpsuit, leaving a wet trail down my thigh.
As soon as I was inside my apartment, I kicked the door shut behind me and leaned against it, my eyes squeezed shut. I could feel the cool metal of the door against my back, a stark contrast to the burning heat of my body. I took a deep, shuddering breath, trying to regain some semblance of control.
My body was consumed by a hunger I couldn't ignore, a need that demanded to be satisfied. I stumbled towards my bedroom, my hands already working to strip off my jumpsuit. I needed to get this fucking thing off, needed to feel my skin against the cool air of my apartment.
I shed my clothes in a frenzy, my breath coming in ragged gasps. My cock stood proud and erect, a thick, veiny column of flesh that jerked and twitched with every beat of my heart.
I wrapped my hand around it, the sensation of my own skin against my sensitive flesh sending a jolt of pleasure through me. Fuck, it felt good. Too good.
I pumped my fist up and down, my grip tight and steady. My hips bucked in time with my strokes, my body desperate for release. I could feel the pressure building in my balls, the heat intensifying with every passing second.
I let out a low, guttural moan, my eyes squeezing shut as I lost myself in the sensation. My hand moved faster, my grip tighter, my desire pushing me closer and closer to the edge.
I could feel my orgasm building, the pressure in my balls becoming almost unbearable. I gritted my teeth, my breath coming in short, sharp gasps.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck," I chanted, my voice ragged and desperate. I was so close, so fucking close. I could feel it, the electric spark that signaled the beginning of the end.
And then, with a final, desperate stroke, I was there. My cock pulsed in my hand, jets of hot, sticky cum shooting out and coating my fingers, my stomach, my thighs.
I rode out the waves of my orgasm, my body convulsing with each spasm. "Fuck," I gasped, my body finally stilling. I took a shuddering breath, my eyes fluttering open. My apartment was silent, save for the sound of my ragged breathing. I looked down at the mess I'd made, the sticky trails of cum that marked my passage. I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction, of primal triumph. I'd taken care of myself, had given in to the hunger that consumed me. But it wasn't enough. Not nearly enough.
But it'll have to suffice.
For now. I clean myself up, using a towel to wipe away the evidence of my desperation. I look at myself in the mirror, really look at myself for the first time since this all started. My reflection stares back at me, a stranger with familiar features. My hair is a mess, my eyes are wild, and my cheeks are flushed. But it's my body that catches my attention, or rather, the changes it's undergone. My breasts are fuller, my hips wider. And there, between my legs, is the most obvious change of all.
My cock, still semi-hard, rests against my thigh, a thick, veiny column of flesh that's a harsh contrast to the smooth, soft skin of my legs. I reach out, tentatively touching the tip, feeling the soft, spongy head beneath my fingertips. It's strange, this new part of me, both alien and familiar. I trace the length of it, feeling the ridges and veins, the way it jerks slightly at my touch.
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what comes next. I need to pack, need to gather some things to bring back to the medbay.
I open my closet, the door creaking softly on its hinges. I scan the contents, my mind racing. What do I need? What will I need for this... this new life I've been thrust into?
I grab a duffel bag from the top shelf, tossing it onto the bed. I start with the basics: underwear, socks, a few changes of clothes. I try to pack light, to only bring what I need. But it's hard to know what I'll need, when I don't even know what's happening to me.
I pause, my hand hovering over a lacy bra.
I stare at it, this small piece of clothing that has suddenly become a symbol of my new reality. I've never been one for frills or lace, preferring practicality over aesthetics. But now, faced with this tangible evidence of my changing body, I can't help but feel a pang of longing. Longing for normalcy, for the simplicity of my old life.
I sigh, grabbing the bra and adding it to the pile in my bag. I can't ignore the changes in my body, no matter how much I might want to.
I'm not the same person I was a week ago, and I need to face that fact, no matter how difficult it may be.
As I pack, I can't help but notice the way my body moves, the way my hips sway with each step. It's a subtle difference, but it's there, a constant reminder of the changes that have taken place. I catch my reflection in the mirror, and I'm struck by the curve of my breasts, the way they fill out my shirt in a way they never did before.
I shake my head, trying to clear my thoughts.
I need to focus on packing, not dwelling on my past. I grab a few more clothes, including a pair of jeans and a straightforward white blouse. I don't want anything too flashy or feminine, just something I can wear around the clinic without drawing too much attention. After I've gathered enough clothing to keep me comfortable for a few days, I move on to the smaller items. I select a pricey leather wallet, knowing that I'll need a valid ID and medical information while I'm staying at the clinic.
I slide my credit card, identification, and insurance card into the wallet, making sure they're easy to access. I also grab my trusty digital diary, which is a gift from my older sister before I left for the space colony. It was her way of staying connected with me despite the distance that separates us.
I take one last look around my apartment, knowing that I'll be away from it for a while. Part of me is sad to leave, but another part of me is excited to figure out what's happening to my body.
