Silje is straight, and a pushover. Very easily manipulated. Her friend dares her to go over to two other women laying on the beach and ask them both to make out with her

Chapter 1: The Dare That Unraveled Her

The heat was a physical weight, pressing down on the sand and the two figures tangled together on a faded striped towel. Silje felt it in the back of her throat, dry and tight, as she watched them from behind the jagged spine of a driftwood log. Anya, all sharp angles and confidence, her short black hair sticking to her neck. Freya, softer, with a cascade of fiery curls and a smile that seemed to warm the very air around her. They were a painting, one that Silje felt guilty for staring at.

“Just go,” Kristina hissed, her voice a gleeful nudge against Silje’s ear. Her fingers dug into the soft flesh of Silje’s arm. “Walk up and say it. I dare you.”

“Say what, exactly?” Silje whispered back, her eyes wide. “This is insane. They’re… they’re together. Look at them.”

That was the whole point, of course. The thrill for Kristina was in the disruption, in sending her shy, blond friend into the lion’s den. Or the lionesses’, in this case. “The dare is to ask for a kiss. From either. Or both, if you’re feeling brave.” Kristina’s grin was all teeth. “Or are you too scared to find out if you’d like it?”

The words landed with a quiet, terrifying thud in Silje’s stomach. She was scared. Scared of the rejection, scared of the laughter, but more scared of the weird, fluttering curiosity that Kristina’s dare had unleashed. She’d never let her thoughts wander there before, not seriously. But now, looking at Anya’s dark, amused eyes and Freya’s sun-dappled skin, the question suddenly had shape and weight.

“I can’t,” Silje breathed.

“You can. Or I’ll tell everyone you backed out. Forever.” Kristina gave her a final, not-gentle shove.

Silje stumbled forward, her bare feet sinking into the hot sand. The few yards between the driftwood and their towel stretched into a mile. The world narrowed to the crunch of shells underfoot, the lazy lap of waves, and the low murmur of the women’s conversation that died as she approached.

Anya noticed her first. She didn’t sit up, just tilted her head, a slow smile spreading across her face. It wasn’t a friendly smile. It was a predator’s smile, curious and assessing. Freya followed her gaze, her expression shifting from contentment to polite confusion.

“Hi,” Silje squeaked. Her heart was a frantic bird against her ribs.

“Hello,” Anya said. Her voice was lower than Silje expected, a smooth rumble. Freya just offered a smaller, warmer smile, sitting up slightly and brushing sand from her arm.

The silence stretched. Anya’s eyes traveled over Silje, from her sun-bleached hair to her trembling knees. She didn’t speak, just waited, one eyebrow arched. The sheer force of her presence was paralyzing.

The words tumbled out in a desperate, jumbled rush. “My friend dared me.To come over here. And ask. For a kiss.” She squeezed her eyes shut for a second, wishing the sand would swallow her whole. “From one of you. Or, you know. Whatever.”

There. It was out. A hot, stupid mess of syllables hanging in the salty air.

Freya’s lips parted in surprise. Then a chuckle escaped her, light and melodic. “A dare?”

Anya, however, didn’t laugh. Her intense gaze fixed on Silje, and she slowly, deliberately, unfolded herself from the towel. She rose to her feet, standing a full head taller than Silje. The air seemed to crackle around her. “A dare,” she repeated, as if tasting the word.

Silje could only nod, utterly transfixed. She caught the scent of coconut oil and something sharper, like ozone before a storm.

Anya took a single step closer. The space between them became charged, intimate. “And what do you want?” Anya asked, her voice dropping to a near-whisper that somehow carried over the sound of the sea. “Not your friend. You.”

It was the worst possible question. Silje’s mind went blank. She’d been so focused on the mechanics of the dare—walk over, say the words, survive—that she’d successfully avoided the real question entirely. What did she want? The curiosity flared, hot and sudden, mingled with a fear so sharp it was almost exhilarating.

“I…” she started, her voice failing. She looked from Anya’s captivating, challenging face to Freya’s kinder, more open one. Her mouth was dry. “I don’t know.”

Anya’s smile returned, different now. It wasn’t predatory anymore; it was knowing, and it held a strange promise. “Not knowing is a good place to start,” she murmured. She glanced back at Freya, a silent question passing between them. Freya studied Silje for a long moment, then gave an almost imperceptible nod, her own smile turning thoughtful, intrigued.

Anya turned her dark eyes back to Silje. “It’s a big ask, a first kiss. From a stranger.” She reached out, not touching Silje, but gesturing toward the empty spot on the towel beside Freya. “Why don’t you sit down? We can… discuss the terms.”

The world seemed to tilt. This wasn’t the swift, awkward rejection or the burst of laughter she’d braced for. This was something else entirely, a door cracking open into a room she’d never dared to peek inside. The dare was gone, vaporized in the heat. What was left was just her, them, and a choice.

Her legs, acting on a will of their own, carried her forward. She sank onto the edge of the towel, the rough fabric scratching against her thighs. Freya shifted to make room, her arm accidentally brushing against Silje’s. A simple, casual contact that sent a jolt straight up Silje’s spine.

Anya settled back down, mirroring her previous pose, but her focus was entirely, unnervingly, on Silje. “So,” Anya said, her lips curving.

“So,” Anya said, her lips curving. “Terms.”

Silje’s mind went blank. Terms? This was a dare, a stupid impulsive thing. Not a negotiation. She looked helplessly at Freya, who gave a small, reassuring shrug, her curls bouncing.

“It’s a simple dare,” Anya continued, leaning back on her elbows. The movement stretched her torso, taut and golden.“A kiss. But a proper one. Not a peck.” Her dark eyes pinned Silje. “Tongue. For one minute. From each of us.”

“A minute?” The words escaped Silje in a breathy rush. That was an eternity. That was… intimate. That was nothing she’d ever agreed to.

“It’s the standard measure for a real kiss, don’t you think?” Anya’s tone was light, conversational, but it left no room for argument. “Freya?”

Freya nodded slowly, her gaze thoughtful on Silje. “A minute’s fair. It’s long enough to… know.”

Know what? Panic fluttered behind Silje’s ribs. Know if she liked it? Know if she was any good at it? This was spiraling far beyond a laugh with Kristina. This was a contract written in the shifting sand.

“I don’t…” Silje began, her voice thin. “I’ve never…”

“That’s rather the point, isn’t it?” Anya interrupted, not unkindly, but with a definitive finality. She sat up fully, closing the distance between them. Silje could smell the salt on her skin, the faint, clean scent of her shampoo. “The dare was to ask. You asked. We’re answering.A kiss. Each. One minute. Those are the terms. Do you accept?”

Silje’s eyes darted to the distant driftwood log. She could see Kristina’ silhouette, watching, phone probably out. Backing out now meant a lifetime of taunts, of being the girl who was too scared to follow through. But going through with it… Her mouth went dry. She gave a tiny, almost imperceptible nod.

Anya’s smile was a victory. “Good. Me first.”

There was no ceremony, no slow lean. Anya simply moved, one hand coming up to cradle the back of Silje’s head, fingers tangling in her blonde hair. It wasn’t rough, but it was utterly firm, preventing any retreat. Silje froze, every muscle locked.

“Relax,” Anya murmured, her breath warm against Silje’s lips. It wasn’t a suggestion.

Then Anya’s mouth was on hers. It was nothing like the sloppy, beer-tinged kisses from boys at parties. It was soft, initially. A press, a testing. Silje remained rigid, her lips sealed shut, her heart hammering a frantic rhythm against her breastbone. Anya’s other hand came to rest on Silje’s jaw, her thumb stroking just below her ear. The touch was shockingly gentle, a contrast to the unyielding hold on her head.

Anya’s lips moved, coaxing. She nipped lightly at Silje’s bottom lip. A tiny gasp escaped Silje, and in that instant, Anya took advantage. Her tongue swept in, claiming Silje’s mouth.

The sensation was a lightning bolt. It was wet, intimate, profoundly strange. Anya’s tongue explored with a lazy, confident thoroughness. It traced the line of Silje’s teeth, stroked the roof of her mouth, tangled with her own timid, unmoving muscle. Silje tasted salt and something faintly sweet, like pineapple. She couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think. She was drowning in the sensation, in the sheer thereness of this woman.

And Anya controlled it all. She set a deliberate, languid pace. Just when Silje thought she might pull away, the pressure would change, the angle would shift, and the kiss would deepen again. The hand on her jaw urged her face to tilt slightly, granting better access. Silje was mere putty in her hands. A minute, Anya had said.It felt like ten. It felt like seconds. Time dissolved into the slick heat, the scent of skin, the low sound Anya made in the back of her throat.

Silje’s body began to betray her. The initial shock melted into a low, unwelcome thrum of heat in her belly. Her hands, which had been clenched in her lap, uncurled. One rose shakily, hovering in the air before settling tentatively on Anya’s bare waist. The skin was hot, smooth.

Anya sensed the shift. Her kiss became more possessive, a hint of teeth, a stronger sweep of her tongue. She was consuming the minute, stretching it, ensuring every second was filled. It was a masterclass in control, and Silje was a hapless student.

Finally, with what felt like a reluctant sigh breathed directly into Silje’s mouth, Anya pulled back. She didn’t go far, just an inch, her lips still glistening. Her eyes were dark, satisfied. She glanced at a sleek sports watch on her wrist. “Sixty seconds,” she said, her voice a husky rasp. “On the dot.”

Silje blinked, dazed. Her own lips felt swollen, foreign. She could still taste Anya.

“Your turn, Frey,” Anya said, shifting back to her spot, looking utterly composed save for the faint flush on her chest.

Freya moved differently. She turned fully toward Silje, her expression soft, apprehensive. “Okay?” she asked quietly.

Silje could only nod, her mind still reeling from the systematic takeover Anya had just performed on her senses.

Freya leaned in slowly, giving Silje every chance to pull away. Her kiss, when it came, was a revelation. Where Anya was conquest, Freya was an invitation. Her lips were just as soft, but they asked a question. They moved over Silje’s with a tender patience. When her tongue sought entry, it was a gentle nudge, not a demand.

The difference unlocked something in Silje. A wave of relief, of a different kind of curiosity. This felt less like being acted upon and more like… participating. Hesitantly, she kissed back. Her mouth opened more freely. Her tongue met Freya’s in a shy dance. Freya tasted of coconut lip balm and sunshine.

It was sweet, exploring. Freya’s hand came up to cup Silje’s cheek, her thumb stroking softly. There was no ruthless control here, only a guided warmth. The minute with Freya felt entirely different—softer, warmer, somehow more real.

The minute with Freya felt entirely different—softer, warmer, somehow more real. But when sixty seconds should have passed, Freya didn’t pull away.

Instead, her hand slid from Silje’s cheek to the nape of her neck, holding her in place. The tender exploration deepened, turned hungrier. Freya’s tongue delved deeper, a low murmur vibrating in her throat as she tasted the girl. Silje made a soft, confused sound into her mouth, a half-protest that was swallowed by the kiss.
