Chapter 2: The Point of No Return
The silence after his exhale was a living thing. It pulsed between us, thick with the truth of that tented sheet. I let it hang there for three more heartbeats, my hand still a warm, steady weight on his lower back.
“Alright,” I said, my voice breaking the spell with practiced calm. “Let’s flip over. We need to work the front to really balance everything out.”
He didn’t move for a second. Then, with a stiff, almost jerky motion, he began to turn. He kept the sheet clutched to his waist, a pathetic, transparent shield. As he settled onto his back, he stared at the ceiling, his jaw working. The flush had spread from his neck to his chest. He was beautifully built, the defined ridges of his abdomen rising and falling with quick, shallow breaths.
I warmed more oil, the ritual unchanged while everything else had shifted. “You really do take care of yourself,” I remarked, my gaze openly traveling over him. It wasn’t a therapist’s observation. It was an appraisal.
His eyes flicked to me, then away. “Trying to,” he muttered. “Had a lot of… angry energy to burn lately.”
“I can tell.” I smiled, a small, knowing thing. “It’s a good canvas. Hard to work on someone with no definition.”
My hands landed on his shoulders again, but this time from the front. My thumbs pressed into the hollows of his collarbones. He was so tense it was like pressing stone. I worked my way down, over the pronounced pectorals, the oil slicking the light dusting of hair. His skin was on fire. Every pass of my hands made him flinch, not from pain, but from a hypersensitivity that was purely neural, purely electric.
I moved to his abdomen, kneading the firm muscle there. My fingers traced the lines that cut down toward his hips. “Breathe into it,” I instructed, my voice low. “You’re still holding.”
He tried. A ragged inhalation that hitched halfway. His hands were fists at his sides, gripping the edges of the table.
My touch became slower, more deliberate. I worked in wide, sweeping circles that grew gradually smaller, tightening their focus. The sheet over his lap was a white landscape, and at its center, the undeniable, proud rise of him. It hadn’t subsided. If anything, it looked harder, more urgent.
I let the back of my knuckles graze the sheet just beside the bulge, a casual, accidental-seeming touch as I smoothed oil over his hip bone.
He sucked in a sharp breath.
“Sorry,” I said, not sounding sorry at all. I did it again on the other side, my touch feather-light but lingering. The cotton was thin. I could feel the heat radiating from him, a furnace contained by a flimsy barrier.
My eyes stayed on his face. He was chewing the inside of his cheek, his eyes screwed shut. A war was raging inside him, and his body was winning, betraying him with every second that passed.
I let my fingers trail down, skimming the sheet where it draped over the hard line of his thigh. Then, with a motion so slow it was almost cruel, I brought my hand back up, the edge of my palm applying a soft, persistent pressure along the length of his erection through the fabric.
He gasped. A full, open-mouthed sound that tore from his throat.
His hips jerked, a tiny, involuntary thrust up into the contact.
I held my hand there, not moving, just letting him feel the weight and the warmth. I watched the conflict play out on his face: shame, shock, and a raw, desperate need that was drowning out everything else. A bead of sweat traced a path from his temple into his hairline.
“James…” It was a strangled whisper, a protest that had no force behind it.
“Shhh,” I murmured, my voice a hypnotic drone. “It’s just a physiological response. Total relaxation, it happens. Don’t fight it.”
It was a lie, and we both knew it. This wasn’t relaxation. This was a seismic event.
I moved my hand, but only slightly, my fingertips now tracing the outline of him through the cotton. I could feel the thick, veined shape of him, the damp spot of precum that had bloomed at the tip, darkening the fabric. My own breathing was controlled, but a familiar, predatory heat was coiling low in my gut. The power was a drug, and I was mainlining it.
His chest was heaving. His eyes flew open, locking onto mine. They were wide, dark pools of pure panic and wanting. He looked lost, wrecked, beautiful.
“I…” he started, but words failed him.
My finger brushed directly over that damp spot, a slow, circling motion. The cotton was slick.
He cried out, a short, choked sound, and his hand shot up, closing around my wrist. His grip was strong, desperate. He wasn’t pushing me away. He was holding me there.
We stayed like that, frozen. His fingers vise-tight on my wrist, my finger resting on the heated evidence of his desire. The rain pattered against the window. The heater hummed. His heart was pounding so hard I could see it in his carotid artery.
His lips parted. No sound came out. His grip on my wrist softened, just a fraction, his fingers trembling. It wasn’t a stop. It was a question.
I answered it by slowly, so slowly, turning my wrist within his loosened grasp. I let my palm flatten, covering him completely through the sheet, applying a firm, undeniable pressure.
His head fell back against the table with a soft thud. His eyes closed. A single, clear tear escaped the corner of his eye and slid down into his hair.
He didn’t let go of my wrist. He held on, like a man clinging to a cliff’s edge, as I began to move my hand.
