Chapter 2: Building Tension
The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm golden glow over the cityscape. Ella stood at the expansive window in the living room, her hands clasped behind her back as she gazed out at the bustling streets below. The city was alive, a symphony of lights and sounds that seemed to pulse with energy. She took a deep breath, the scent of freshly brewed coffee filling her nostrils as she turned to face the room.
James was sitting on the couch, his laptop open on his lap as he typed away at the keyboard. He looked up as she entered the room, a small smile playing on his lips. "Hey, Ella," he said, his voice warm and inviting.
"Come sit with me.
I walked over to the couch, sitting down next to him. He closed his laptop, turning to face me. "I've been working on something," he said, his eyes shining with excitement. "It's a surprise."
I raised an eyebrow, curious. "A surprise? For me?"
He nodded, grinning. "Yep. But you can't see it yet. It's not ready."
I pouted, playfully. "Aw, come on, James. Give me a hint at least."
He laughed, shaking his head. "No way. You'll have to wait and see."
I sighed dramatically, leaning back against the couch.
"Fine, fine. I'll wait. But you owe me a big one."
James chuckled, pulling me into a hug. "Deal. Now, how was your day?"
I snuggled into his embrace, feeling a sense of comfort and security. "It was good. Busy, but good. How about yours?"
He shrugged, his hand rubbing circles on my back. "Same old, same old. Work, work, work. But I'm glad you're here now."
James nodded, his eyes softening. "Yeah, it is.
Hey, I was thinking we could order in tonight. My treat. What do you say?" James suggested, his thumb still drawing circles on my back. Before I could respond, Ben entered the room, again drenched with gym sweat wearing just a tank top and grey sweats.
I felt my cheeks flush again, my eyes drawn to the outline of his massive cock. I quickly looked away, trying to regain my composure.
"Hey, Ben," James said, looking up from his laptop. "You're back early."
Ben shrugged, grabbing a towel from the back of the couch and wiping his face. "Yeah, I decided to call it a day. What are you two up to?"
"Ella and I were just about to order dinner and watch a movie," James replied, looking at me with a soft smile. "Want to join us?"
Ben looked at me, his green eyes sparkling with amusement. "Only if Ella picks the movie.
I'm tired of your action flicks, James," Ben said, a smirk playing on his lips. He turned to me, "What do you say, Ella? Want to pick the movie tonight?"
I felt my cheeks flush at the attention, but I managed to keep my composure. "Sure, I'd like that. But only if you promise not to make fun of my choice, Ben."
He held up his hands in surrender, "Scout's honor. I won't make fun of your movie, Ella. Even if it is a sappy rom-com."
I laughed, "Deal. But it's not a sappy rom-com.
It's a classic, a timeless tale of love and loss," I said, holding up the DVD case of "Casablanca." "Casablanca, huh? Isn't that a bit... old for you, Ella?"
I rolled my eyes, "It's a classic, Ben. And it's not old, it's timeless. You'll see." I inserted the DVD into the player, and the familiar opening notes of "As Time Goes By" filled the room. James and Ben exchanged a look, and I could see the amusement in their eyes. But I didn't care. I loved this movie, and I was determined to make them love it too.
I turned to Ben, "You know, it's not just about the romance. It's about the friendship, the sacrifice, the love that transcends time and space." Ben raised an eyebrow, a small smile playing on his lips. "You're really selling this, Ella. I'm almost convinced." I grinned, turning to James. "And you, James? You ready to be won over by the power of Rick and Ilsa?" "I'm already won over, Ella. You know I love you." I felt a warmth spread through me at his words, a sense of comfort and security. I knew he meant it, knew that he loved me.
But as I looked at him, I couldn't help but think about Ben. About the way he had looked at me, the way his eyes had lingered on my body. I pushed the thought away, focusing instead on the movie. But as the opening credits rolled, I found my eyes drifting back to Ben. He was sitting on the other side of James, his body relaxed, his eyes fixed on the screen. But I could see the tension in his jaw, the way his hands were clenched into fists. He was trying to hide it, but I could see it. He was turned on.
I felt a shiver run down my spine, a mix of fear and excitement.
I knew I should look away, should focus on the movie, but I couldn't. I was captivated by Ben, by the way he was reacting to me. I could see the desire in his eyes, the way his body was tense, his breath ragged.
James, oblivious to the tension between us, was engrossed in the movie. He had his arm around me, his hand resting on my thigh. I could feel the warmth of his touch, but it did little to calm the storm of emotions inside me.
Ben, on the other hand, was a different story.
He was trying his best to focus on the movie, but I could see his eyes flicking to me every few minutes. Each time he looked at me, I felt a jolt of electricity, a spark that set my nerves alight. I tried to focus on the movie, on the love story unfolding on the screen, but it was no use. My mind was elsewhere, my body humming with a desire I didn't understand.
"I've got to go pee" Ben announced , standing up abruptly. I watched as he walked towards the bathroom, his body tense, his stride purposeful. I couldn't help but notice the way his muscles flexed with each step, the way his sweatpants clung to his ass.
James, oblivious to my distraction, was engrossed in the movie.
A few minutes had gone by and I swore I could hear something coming from the bathroom. I tried to focus on the movie, but my mind was elsewhere. I couldn't help but wonder what Ben was doing in there. Was he...? No, I couldn't even think about it. I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts.
Suddenly, James's phone rang, breaking the silence. He looked at the caller ID and sighed. "I've got to take this. It's work," he said, standing up and walking towards the kitchen.
As soon as James was out of the room, I felt a strange sense of relief. I turned my attention back to the movie, trying to lose myself in the story. But it was no use.
The noises from the bathroom we're getting louder. I tiptoed towards the door to hear better. I could hear Ben's heavy breathing, and the sound of his hand moving rapidly. I realized what he was doing and my heart started to race. I was both horrified and intrigued. I knew I should turn away, but I couldn't. I was frozen, my eyes glued to the bathroom door.
Suddenly, Ben's breathing became more rapid, and he let out a low moan. I felt a jolt of shock and excitement. I knew I should leave, but I was captivated. I couldn't look away.
I leaned my ear against the door , my heart pounding in my chest. I could hear Ben's ragged breathing, the sound of his hand moving faster and faster. I knew I should walk away, should put as much distance between us as possible, but I was rooted to the spot.
Suddenly, Ben let out a low groan, his voice muffled by the door. "Ella," he whispered, his voice hoarse with desire. I felt a jolt of shock, my eyes widening. He knew I was there. He knew I was listening.
I should have run, should have fled the room as fast as I could. But I didn't.
I was frozen, my body trembling with a mix of fear and excitement. I couldn't move, couldn't think. All I could do was stand there, my ear pressed against the door, listening to Ben's ragged breathing, his low moans echoing through the bathroom.
"Ella," he whispered again, his voice barely audible. "Come in."
I hesitated, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew I should walk away, should pretend I hadn't heard him. But I couldn't. I was drawn to him, to the sound of his voice, the way he was saying my name.
Slowly, I reached out and turned the doorknob.
The door creaked open, revealing Ben, his back against the wall, his hand still moving rapidly beneath the waistband of his sweatpants. His eyes were closed, his head thrown back, his breath coming in short, sharp gasps. He looked...incredible.
"Ben," I whispered, my voice barely audible. His eyes flew open, meeting mine. There was no shame, no embarrassment in his gaze, only a raw, primal desire that made my heart race.
"Come here," he said, his voice hoarse. I hesitated, my body still frozen in place. But my feet seemed to have a mind of their own.
They carried me forward, one step at a time, until I was standing right in front of him. Ben's eyes never left mine as he slowly pulled his hand out of his sweatpants. He was hard, his cock standing tall and proud, the tip glistening with pre-cum. I felt my breath catch in my throat, my body responding to the sight before me.
"Ella," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "Watch me." Ben's voice was low, commanding. I felt a shiver run down my spine at his words, my body responding to his authority. I nodded, my eyes locked onto his, unable to look away.
Ben reached out, his hand wrapping around his cock. He stroked himself slowly, his eyes never leaving mine. I watched, mesmerized, as he moved his hand up and down his length, his breath growing more ragged with each passing second.
I could feel the heat between my legs, my body aching for his touch. I wanted to reach out, to wrap my hand around him, to feel him in my hand. But I knew I shouldn't. So I stood there paralysed.
Ben's hand moved in a steady rhythm, his eyes locked onto mine. I could feel the heat radiating from his body, the intensity of his gaze. I was both terrified and exhilarated. I had never seen anything so raw, so primal. It was intoxicating.
"Touch yourself," Ben commanded, his voice low and husky. But his eyes were filled with a hunger that I couldn't resist. Slowly, I reached down, my fingers tracing the edge of my jeans. I could feel the heat between my legs, the dampness of my panties.
I hesitated, my fingers trembling as I unbuttoned my jeans. Ben watched me, his eyes dark with desire, his hand still stroking himself. I pushed my jeans down, revealing my lace panties. I could feel the cool air on my skin, but it did little to calm the fire burning within me.
Ben's breath hitched as he watched me, his hand moving faster, his grip tightening. "Take them off," he growled, his voice barely recognizable. I complied, pushing my jeans and panties down in one swift motion. I stood before him, naked from the waist down, my heart pounding in my chest.
Ben's eyes roamed over my body, taking in every curve, every inch of exposed skin. I felt a shiver run down my spine, a mix of fear and excitement coursing through my veins.
Ben's hand moved faster, his breath coming in short, sharp gasps. "You're so fucking beautiful, Ella," he whispered, his voice hoarse with desire. "I've been dreaming of this moment for weeks."
I felt a blush creep up my cheeks, my body responding to his words. I had never heard anyone speak to me like that before, never felt so desired, so wanted.
I could feel my orgasm building and could tell he was close has his hand quickened. However, it was interrupted by James calling out "Ella? Where are you?" James called out, his voice echoing through the apartment. I froze, my heart pounding in my chest. I could hear the concern in his voice, the worry that was laced with a hint of irritation.
Ben's eyes never left mine as he continued to stroke himself, his breath coming in short, sharp gasps. "Do you want to come here?"
I hesitated, my mind racing with a million thoughts but I knew I had to go.
"Coming" I yelled.
I quickly pulled up my jeans and panties, my heart pounding in my chest. I could feel the heat between my legs, the dampness of my arousal. I took a deep breath, trying to regain my composure as I walked out of the bathroom.
James was standing in the living room, his phone still in his hand, a look of concern on his face. "Where were you? I've been calling you for ages," he said, his voice laced with worry.
"I was in the bathroom," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. "I must have had my headphones on, I didn't hear you."
James nodded, but I could see the suspicion in his eyes. "Are you okay?
You look a little flushed," James asked, his eyes scanning my face. I could feel the heat in my cheeks, the evidence of my encounter with Ben still fresh on my skin.
"I'm fine, James. Just a little warm, that's all," I replied, forcing a smile. James nodded, but I could see the doubt in his eyes. He knew something was up, but he didn't press the issue. Instead, he turned his attention back to his phone, his brow furrowing as he read a message.
"Work's being a pain in the ass," he muttered, running a hand through his hair.
"They need me to come in early tomorrow. I'm sorry, Ella. I know we were going to spend the day together."
I waved him off, "It's okay, James. I understand. Work comes first, right?"
He smiled at me, grateful. "You're the best, Ella. I don't know what I'd do without you."
I felt a pang of guilt at his words. Here he was, praising my understanding and support, while I was hiding my growing feelings for his roommate. I pushed the thought away, focusing instead on the here and now.
"I'll be here when you get back," I said, giving him a reassuring smile. "We can watch the rest of the movie, or you can just crash early. I'll be fine."
James looked at me, his eyes softening. "You're amazing, Ella. I don't know what I did to deserve you."
I felt a warmth spread through me at his words, but I couldn't help but think about Ben. I pushed the thought away, focusing instead on James.
"I'll see you in the morning," I said, leaning in to kiss him on the cheek.
