Chapter 2: The Morning After
The first thing Aidan was aware of was warmth. A deep, human warmth layered in three distinct textures. The silk was cool where it touched his legs, but his left side was pressed against the solid, sleeping heat of Yuna, her back to his chest, his arm slung unconsciously over her waist. His right arm was numb, pinned under the delicate weight of Hana, who had burrowed into the space beneath his chin, her pink hair tickling his nose.
He lay perfectly still, listening to their breathing. Yuna’s was deep and even. Hana’s hitched slightly, a faint, musical snore on every exhale. The previous night unfurled in his mind not as a sequence of events, but as a series of sensations: the taste of them both, the crushing silence after Yuna’s climax, the way Hana had clung to his hand in her sleep.
Carefully, he began to extract his numb arm. Hana whimpered in protest, nestling deeper. He froze, then tried again with glacial slowness. Finally free, he slid out from under Yuna’s heavy arm and the duvet’s embrace.
The marble floor was shockingly cold under his feet. He padded to the bathroom, closing the door silently before flicking on the light. His own reflection gave him pause. He looked rumpled, yes, but there was a looseness to his face he hadn’t seen in years. The officer’s perpetual alertness was muted. He splashed water on his face, the cold a welcome shock.
When he opened the door, he found them both awake.
They hadn’t moved, but their eyes were on him—Hana’s wide and observant, Yuna’s heavy-lidded and guarded. It was a different kind of nakedness.
“Going somewhere?” Yuna’s voice was morning-rough.
“Just the bathroom.”
“Liar,” Hana murmured, a sleepy smile touching her lips. “You were doing the spy thing. Assessing the exfil.”
He had been, and her calling him on it sent a jolt through him. He walked back to the bed. “Old habits.”
“Break them here,” Yuna said. It wasn’t a request. She lifted the duvet in invitation.
He slid back in, the space he’d left now filled with their combined warmth. Hana immediately curled into him again, her hand finding his and guiding it beneath the sheets, resting it high on her inner thigh. Her skin was like heated satin.
“See?” she whispered against his collarbone. “Still here.”
From behind, Yuna shifted. He felt the long, muscular line of her body press against his back, her knees slotting behind his. Her arm snaked around his waist, her hand sliding down his stomach. Her touch was deliberate, claiming. She found him already half-hard, and gave a low, gratified hum against his shoulder blade.
“Efficient,” she said.
Hana tilted her head up and kissed him. It was slow, languid, tasting of sleep. When she pulled back, Yuna pulled his head gently to the side and kissed him too, her mouth more insistent. He could taste Hana on his own lips, and then Yuna on Hana. The intimacy of it, the shared currency, was dizzying.
“My turn,” Hana breathed, and she slid down the bed, her hair trailing across his stomach. She took him into her mouth with a sigh of concentration, her technique less playful than before, more devoted. Aidan’s head fell back against Yuna’s shoulder.
Yuna held him, one hand splayed on his chest, the other still wrapped around him, moving in a loose, slow rhythm that counterpointed Hana’s mouth. She pressed her lips to his ear. “Just feel it,” she whispered, a command and a gift in one.
He was lost in the duality of their attention—the wet, sucking heat below, the firm, encompassing presence behind. The city outside was waking up, a distant growl of traffic, but in this room, time stretched and slowed.
When Hana finally came up for air, her lips swollen and slick, she climbed back up and kissed Yuna over his shoulder, a deep, messy kiss. “Your turn to watch,” Hana said, her eyes glinting.
They rearranged themselves without words, a practiced, silent dance. Aidan sat back against the plush headboard. Hana curled into his side, one hand tracing idle circles on his chest while the other drifted between her own legs, her gaze fixed ahead.
Yuna knelt before him, facing him, her powerful thighs framing his hips. She looked directly into his eyes as she sank down onto him, taking him in with a slow, controlled roll of her hips that made his breath catch. Her head fell back, the cords of her neck standing out, but her eyes snapped back to his, holding the connection.
She began to move, a rolling, grinding undulation that leveraged every muscle in her dancer’s body. This was different from the desperate hunger of the night before. This was a performance, but one staged for an audience of two. For him, and for Hana, who watched with a sharp, rapt intensity, her own fingers moving faster in time with Yuna’s rhythm.
“You look so good on him,” Hana whispered, her voice husky.
Yuna’s only answer was a sharp exhale. Her hands braced on Aidan’s shoulders, nails biting slightly into his skin. The facade of blunt sarcasm was gone, burned away by a focused, overwhelming need for pleasure. Her rhythm stuttered, became less controlled. Aidan’s hands found her hips, not to guide, but to anchor them both.
He felt the exact moment she started to come—a deep, internal clench that seemed to pull him deeper into her. A silent scream locked in her throat, her eyes screwed shut. It triggered his own release, a wave that tore through him with a force that left him blind and breathless.
For a long moment, the only sound was their ragged breathing. Yuna slumped forward, her forehead resting against his, her sweat mingling with his. Hana’s hand had stilled, resting on his pounding heart.
Yuna finally slid off him, collapsing onto the sheets beside Hana. They looked at each other, then at him, a silent communion passing between them.
The spell was broken by the sharp, corporate chirp of a phone from the main room. They all flinched.
“Manager,” Yuna said flatly, the word dropping into the room like a stone. The vulnerability vanished from her face, shuttered behind a familiar, weary mask.
Hana untangled herself, her movements suddenly quick and anxious. She slipped out of bed, grabbing her robe. “We have a schedule. A photo shoot. I forgot.”
The transition was brutal. From the deep, private warmth of the bed to the cold, scheduled reality of their lives in under thirty seconds. Aidan watched as Yuna stood, her powerful body straightening into the posture of an idol. She caught him looking and gave him a small, grim smile that didn’t reach her eyes.
“See?” she said. “The cage has a very nice door.”
An hour later, Aidan stood alone by the penthouse window, dressed once more in his own clothes. The room smelled of them, of sex and jasmine, but it was already turning back into a sterile hotel suite. He had offered to leave first, but they’d insisted on going together, a united front for their manager.
“We’ll text,” Hana had said, squeezing his hand at the door, her public smile already in place.
“Don’t do anything we wouldn’t do,” Yuna had added, the sarcasm back but softer now. She’d leaned in, her voice for him alone. “The quiet’s still there. Thanks.”
Now, holding a cold cup of coffee he hadn’t made, Aidan’s own reality descended. His encrypted laptop sat on the glass dining table, a dark slab of duty. He had to file a report. What would he say? That asset consolidation was proceeding? That psychological profiles were being deepened through mutually assured vulnerability?
He sat down, opened the machine, and stared at the blank document. The words that came were hollow, professional, a complete betrayal of everything that had just happened. He wrote them anyway.
Just as he was about to hit send, his own phone buzzed—a different, secure line. It was Madam Choi’s assistant.
“Mr. Thorne. Madam requests your presence at the agency at four. She has another consolidation opportunity for you to assess. A new group. They are… experiencing some cohesion issues.”
Aidan closed his eyes. The warmth of the bed was a distant memory. The quiet Yuna had found was gone, replaced by the loud, cold silence of his complicity.
“Tell her I’ll be there,” he said, his voice perfectly even. He ended the call and finally sent the report, watching the screen confirm its delivery to a server somewhere he would never see.
Outside, Seoul gleamed, indifferent. Inside, the scent of jasmine was already fading.
