Chapter 5: Bound in the Inferno

When I came to, the oppressive heat was the first thing I felt—38 degrees Celsius, a scorching blanket that wrapped around me and made it hard to breathe. My head throbbed with every beat of my heart, and the intense heat seemed to blur the edges of reality. I tried to move, to shift away from the burning discomfort, but I quickly realized that my body was still bound, tied up in an uncomfortable position.

My hands were secured high above my head, the ropes digging into my wrists, and my feet were tied to the pole that stood in the center of the room. The ropes were so tight that they made my muscles ache and restricted any attempt to shift or adjust. The blindfold was still in place, shrouding me in darkness, amplifying every sensation and every sound. I felt utterly trapped, unable to see or move.

The heat was suffocating, my body drenched in sweat, my breath coming in ragged gasps. The ropes were relentless, their tight grip a constant reminder of my captivity.

My throat was dry, my lips cracked and parched, as I tried to swallow, but there was nothing to moisten my mouth. My body was weak, my muscles aching from the unnatural position I was forced to maintain. The silence in the room was deafening, an eternity of quiet that seemed to stretch on forever. It was as if time itself had slowed, each second passing with agonizing slowness.

Suddenly, a creak of a door opening startled me as I asked, "Who's there?" But no reply whatsoever came, only the echo of my own voice bouncing off the cold, hard walls. My heart pounded in my chest, a frantic drumbeat that seemed to fill the entire room.

The sound of the door creaking open sent a jolt of terror through me, my breath catching in my throat as I strained to hear any hint of what was to come. The silence was deafening, the only sound the distant hum of the air conditioner struggling against the oppressive heat. I could feel the sweat trickling down my back, my body tensing as I braced myself for whatever was about to happen.

Suddenly, I felt something cold and smooth press against my lips. I recoiled at first, my heart pounding in my chest, but then I recognized the sensation. It was a spoon, "What's this?" I asked, my voice hoarse and barely above a whisper.

But no response came, only the echo of my own voice bouncing off the cold, hard walls. I felt a lump form in my throat, a mixture of fear and desperation. I had no other choice but to open my mouth, and as I did, I tasted the bland food, I realized it was something I hadn't had in an eternity. The taste was unremarkable, but it was food, and it was a small victory in this otherwise desolate existence.

The spoon was followed by another, and another, each one bringing a small measure of relief to my parched throat. The food was tasteless, but it was nourishment, and I ate it with a desperation that bordered on feral.

As I chewed and swallowed, I felt a mix of relief and frustration. The nourishment was necessary, but the silence, the darkness, and the unresponsiveness of my captors left me feeling even more helpless. I could only wonder about the purpose of this strange, cruel captivity and what awaited me next.

The food was a small mercy, but it did little to alleviate the burning heat or the relentless pressure of the ropes. My body ached, my muscles cramping from the unnatural position, and the blindfold continued to shroud me in darkness, amplifying every sensation and sound.

The heat was unbearable, my skin slick with sweat, and my breath coming in ragged gasps. I could feel the ropes biting into my flesh, their unyielding grip a constant reminder of my captivity.

After six spoons of food, the person left the room, leaving me alone again in the oppressive heat and suffocating silence. The door creaked shut behind them, the sound echoing ominously through the room. I was left with nothing but my thoughts and the relentless throb of pain in my side. I could feel the ropes digging into my wrists and ankles, their tight grip a constant, suffocating reminder of my helplessness.

In that small, oppressive room, with my body tied and my senses confined, I clung to the fragile hope that this would be a turning point—that somehow, someway, there might be a chance for escape or rescue. For now, all I could do was endure the isolation, the heat, and the uncertainty, while holding on to whatever scraps of hope and strength I could muster.
