Chapter 6: Hell Week

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting the campus in a warm, golden glow as Sarah sat on the window seat, her knees drawn up to her chest, a book propped open on her lap. The quad below was a bustling tableau of students rushing to evening classes, couples strolling hand in hand, and friends gathered in Clusters, their laughter echoing up to her. She sighed, her gaze drifting to the couples, a pang of longing echoing through her. She missed Ben, his steady presence, his comforting warmth.

She yearned for the simplicity of their high school relationship, untouched by the complexities and temptations of college life. As she watched the couples below, she couldn't help but wonder what the weekend would bring. Would they fall back into their old rhythm, or would the distance and her infidelity create an insurmountable barrier between them?

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps approaching her room. She looked up to see Emily leaning against the doorway, a devilish grin on her face.

"Hey, roomie," Emily drawled, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Looks like you've got your head in the clouds. Or should I say, in Ben's arms?"

Sarah rolled her eyes, closing her book and setting it aside. "I was just thinking about this weekend, that's all," she admitted, hugging her knees to her chest.

Emily pushed off from the doorway and sauntered into the room, dropping onto the bed beside Sarah. "Ah, the dreaded visitor from home. I've heard all about them." She feigned a dramatic shudder. "So, what's the plan?

Are you going to show him all the hot spots on campus, or are you two just going to hole up in here and... study?" Emily waggled her eyebrows suggestively, earning her a playful swat from Sarah.

"Stop it," Sarah laughed, her cheeks flushing pink. "We're not like that, Emily. We're not just... physical with each other."

Emily raised an eyebrow, her lips curling into a smirk. "Well, maybe you should be. A little physical affection never hurt anyone. Might even help you relax a bit."

Sarah sighed, looking out the window again.

"I just want this weekend to go well. I want us to reconnect, you know? Like we used to."

Emily reached over and patted Sarah's knee. "Hey, it will. You two have history, and that counts for something. Just... don't overthink it. Let things happen naturally."

Sarah nodded, appreciating Emily's attempt at consolation. I just need to stop worrying so much."

Emily grinned mischievously. "And if all else fails, there's always alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol."

Sarah laughed, shaking her head.

"I don't think alcohol is the answer to this situation, Emily."

Emily shrugged, unperturbed. "Hey, it works for me. But whatever floats your boat, roomie. So, what are you going to do with Ben while he's here?"

Sarah chewed on her lower lip, thinking. "I thought we could explore the town a bit, maybe grab dinner at that new Italian place everyone's been talking about. And I want to show him my favorite spot on campus, by the lake."

Emily wrinkled her nose. "The lake?

Really, Sarah? That's your favorite spot?" Emily raised an eyebrow, smirking. "I mean, it's pretty, sure, but it's not exactly... exciting." "Alright, enough of the serious talk. I got to get to class, see you later." Emily called out as she hurried out of the room, leaving Sarah alone with her thoughts. Sarah watched as Emily disappeared down the hallway, her mind swirling with a mix of nerves and excitement for Ben's arrival. She knew she needed to focus on getting ready for his visit, but her thoughts kept drifting back to Marcus and the intense encounter they had shared.

She tried to push the thoughts away, telling herself that what happened was a one-time thing and that she wouldn't let it happen again. But as she showered and got dressed, she couldn't shake the memories of Marcus's touch, his taste, his scent.

She found herself daydreaming in the middle of washing her hair, her hands wandering south, imagining it was Marcus's hands on her body. She quickly snapped out of it, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment and guilt.

She caught her reflection in the mirror and sighed. Her brown eyes looked wider than usual, her cheeks flushed, and her hair was a mess. She looked like a guilty schoolgirl, which, she supposed, wasn't far from the truth. She splashed some cold water on her face, trying to snap herself out of it.

As she finished getting ready, she heard a knock at the door.

She assumed it was Emily, back from class, but when she opened the door, she found herself face-to-face with Marcus. He leaned casually against the doorframe, his hands in his pockets, a small smile playing on his lips.

"Hey, Sarah," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I was just wondering if you needed any help with... anything. You know, since you're expecting company this weekend."

Sarah's heart fluttered in her chest, her mind racing. She knew she should tell him to leave, that she couldn't risk Ben finding out about their encounter, but she couldn't find the words.

Instead, she stood there, her heart pounding in her chest, her eyes locked with Marcus's.

He seemed to sense her hesitation, his smile growing wider. "Or maybe you just need someone to help you... relax," he suggested, his voice barely above a whisper.

Sarah's breath hitched in her throat as he stepped closer, his hand reaching up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. His fingers lingered, tracing the curve of her jaw, sending shivers down her spine.

She knew she should push him away, tell him to leave, but she couldn't.

His touch was electrifying, his scent intoxicating. She felt a warmth spreading through her, her body responding to his closeness despite her best efforts to resist.

"Marcus, I can't," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Ben's coming this weekend. I can't... I can't do this again."

Marcus's eyes darkened, his gaze intense. "You can't deny what's between us, Sarah. I felt it the moment we met, and I know you did too."

She shook her head, trying to break free from his gaze. "That was a mistake, Marcus. A one-time thing.

That's all it was. All it can be," Sarah insisted, her voice barely above a whisper. She took a step back, creating some much-needed distance between them. Marcus's hand fell away from her face, but his gaze remained fixed on her, unwavering.

"Is that what you really want, Sarah?" he asked, his voice dangerously low. "To pretend like nothing happened between us? To go back to your boyfriend and act like you didn't feel this... this connection?"

Sarah swallowed hard, her heart pounding in her chest.

She knew she should say yes, that she should tell Marcus to leave and never come back. But the words refused to come out, trapped behind the lump in her throat.

"Then ill see you around" Marcus said in a low sultry voice before turning around and walking away. Sarah stood there frozen, heart pounding, unable to move until she heard the front door close behind him. She let out a sigh and leaned against the door frame, her legs feeling like jelly.

She closed her eyes, trying to process what had just happened. Her body was still tingling from Marcus's touch, her heart was still racing, and her mind was a whirlwind of confusion.

She knew she should be relieved that he had left, that she had avoided a potentially disastrous situation.

But instead, she felt a strange sense of emptiness, a longing that she couldn't quite understand. She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. She couldn't afford to dwell on Marcus, not with Ben arriving at the end of the week.

She spent the rest of the evening preparing for his visit, cleaning the apartment, and making sure everything was in order. Emily was out for the night, no doubt with one of her many suitors, so Sarah had the apartment to herself. She put on some soft music, poured herself a glass of wine, and set to work.

As she cleaned, she found herself humming along to the tunes, her mood lifting. The apartment began to look more like a cozy home and less like a college dormitory. She even managed to find some fresh flowers in a vase, adding a touch of color to the cramped space.

As she worked, she tried to push thoughts of Marcus from her mind. She couldn't afford to get distracted, not with Ben arriving in just a few days. She needed to focus on their relationship, on reconnecting with him, and on making this weekend special.

She wanted to show him that despite the distance and the challenges of college life, they could still make their relationship work.

With a sigh, she put the final touches on the apartment, satisfied with the outcome. She poured herself another glass of wine and settled onto the couch, pulling out her phone to text Ben. She missed him, and she was eager to hear his voice.

*Hey babe, just finished getting the apartment ready for you. Can't wait for you to get here tomorrow. Miss you like crazy.*

She pressed send and leaned back against the cushions, a small smile playing on her lips.

She could almost hear Ben's response, his warm, familiar voice echoing in her mind. She took a sip of her wine, letting the cool liquid slide down her throat, and closed her eyes, imagining his arms wrapped around her.

But the sound of the door opening snapped her out of it . She sat up straight, her heart pounding in her chest as Emily walked in, followed by Marcus . Sarah's eyes widened in surprise, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment and guilt. She hadn't expected to see Marcus again so soon, especially not with Emily.

"Hey, roomie," Emily said, her voice bubbly and oblivious to Sarah's discomfort. "Look who I bumped into on my way back. He insisted on walking me home, can you believe it?" She grinned at Marcus, who smirked back at her.

Sarah cleared her throat, trying to regain her composure. "Hi, Marcus," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Hey Marcus I have something to show you in my room" Emily said as she grabbed Marcus hand and dragged him towards her room.

Sarah watched them go, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew she should be relieved that Marcus was gone, but instead, she felt a pang of jealousy. She couldn't help but wonder what Emily was showing him.

She tried to push the thoughts away, telling herself that it didn't matter. She had Ben coming in the morning, and that was all that should matter.

But as she listened to the muffled sounds coming from Emily's room, she couldn't shake the image of Marcus's hands on her, his breath on her neck, his voice in her ear. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. "I'll just go to bed" She muttered, her voice barely above a whisper. She grabbed her book and retreated to her bedroom, closing the door behind her with a loud click.

But behind her closed door, the sounds coming from the other room did not disappear

. Instead, they grew louder and more insistent, a steady pulse that made her heart race and her breath hitch.

Sarah tried to ignore them, telling herself that the walls were thin, and that Emily often had company. But no matter how much she tried to reason with herself, the sounds only grew louder.

She could hear whispers that sounded like breathless moans, skin slapping against skin, and the unmistakable sound of pleasure.

Sarah squeezed her eyes shut, her body growing hot and restless as she imagined Emily and Marcus entwined in a passionate embrace. She tried to push the thoughts away, to focus on anything else, but the more she fought against the images swirling in her mind, the more insistent they became.

She found herself wondering what it would be like to have Marcus touch her that way, to feel his hands roam over her body, his lips on hers, his warmth surrounding her. She shivered, a throbbing ache unfurling deep within her.

Sarah squeezed her eyes shut, her body growing hot and restless as she imagined Emily and Marcus entwined in a passionate embrace. She tried to push the thoughts away, to focus on anything else, but the more she fought against the images swirling in her mind, the more insistent they became.

"Oh Marcus!" Emily's voice, thick with desire, carried through the thin walls, each syllable a jolt to Sarah's already frayed nerves. She tried to block it out, to focus on the words dancing before her on the page, but it was no use. The sounds coming from Emily's room were too all-consuming, too raw, too... real.

Sarah's heart pounded in her chest, her breath coming in short, shallow gasps. She could feel the heat spreading through her, her body responding to the illicit sounds, to the thought of Marcus's hands on Emily, his mouth on hers.

She squeezed her legs together, trying to alleviate the growing ache, but it only served to make it worse. She could feel the dampness between her thighs, the throbbing in her core, her nipples hardening against the thin fabric of her shirt.

She told herself to get up, to leave the room, to find somewhere else to be, but her body refused to obey. She was rooted to the spot, her eyes wide, her breathing ragged, as she listened to the symphony of pleasure unfolding in the next room.

"Fuck, Marcus," Emily moaned, her voice barely recognizable.

Sarah's breath hitched as she imagined Marcus's hands gripping Emily's hips, his fingers digging into her soft flesh. She could almost see his muscles flexing, his body moving in that primal rhythm that had once been hers.

The sound of skin slapping against skin filled the tiny room, punctuated by Emily's breathy moans and Marcus's low growls. Sarah's body throbbed in time with their movements, her heart pounding in her chest like a drum.

She bit her lip, her fingers curling into the sheets beneath her as she struggled to maintain control. She could feel the heat building inside her, her body aching for release. She wanted to touch herself, to ease the ache, but she knew that would only make things worse. She couldn't give in to the temptation, not again.

Not so close to Ben's arrival. She clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms, a sharp pain grounding her in the present. She had to distract herself, to break the spell that Emily and Marcus were unwittingly casting over her.

Sarah grabbed her phone, her fingers flying over the screen as she typed out a message to Ben. She needed to hear his voice, to remind herself of what they had, of what she was fighting to preserve.

*Hey babe, can't sleep. Missing you like crazy.

Wish you were here now, Sarah typed, her heart aching with a sudden longing for Ben's steady presence. She hit send and clutched the phone to her chest, as if holding it close could somehow bridge the distance between them.

The phone buzzed almost immediately, Ben's reply lighting up the screen. *Hey beautiful, I'm here. I wish I was there too. What's keeping you up?*

Sarah hesitated, her fingers hovering over the keyboard. She couldn't tell him the truth, not about Marcus, not about the illicit sounds coming from Emily's room.

She couldn't admit to the thoughts swirling in her mind, the urges coursing through her veins. So, she lied.

*Just thinking about how much I miss you. And how much I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.*

She pressed send, her heart heavy with guilt. She knew she shouldn't be keeping secrets from Ben, but she also knew that she couldn't bear to see the disappointment in his eyes if he found out about Marcus.

Ben's reply was swift, his words filling her with warmth and affection. *I miss you too, Sarah. More than you know.

I can't wait to hold you, to kiss you, to make up for lost time. Get some sleep, okay? Sweet dreams, beautiful. Love you. xoxo"

Sarah sighed, her heart swelling with love and longing. She pressed the phone to her chest, Ben's words a balm to her frayed nerves. She took a deep breath, her eyes fluttering closed as she tried to push the sounds from Emily's room to the back of her mind.

She focused on Ben's words, on the love and longing in his message, and slowly, her heart rate began to return to normal. She set her phone down on the bedside table, her fingers brushing against the cool glass as she reached for her book.

But as she opened it, the words blurred before her eyes, her mind refusing to focus on anything but the sounds coming from next door. She sighed, her body still thrumming with unspent desire, and tossed the book aside. She couldn't read, couldn't think, couldn't do anything but lie there, her body aching, her mind racing.

Every moan, every gasp, every whispered word from Emily's room sent shockwaves through her, setting her nerves alight, her blood ablaze. She was a live wire, a powder keg, ready to explode at the slightest touch.

She tossed and turned, her skin flushed, her breath coming in short, sharp gasps. She could feel the dampness between her thighs, the throbbing in her core, her nipples hard and aching against the fabric of her shirt. She was a mess, a hot, needy, desperate mess, and she had no one to blame but herself.

And Marcus.

His name echoed in her mind like a curse, a whispered prayer, a desperate plea. She tried to push him from her thoughts, to focus on anything but the man next door, but it was no use. Her body betrayed her, her mind betrayed her, and she was left to drown in a sea of longing and regret.

She tried to distract herself, to focus on anything but the sounds coming from Emily's room. She counted the cracks in the ceiling, traced the patterns in the wallpaper, even tried to recite the alphabet backwards.

Anything to keep her mind occupied, to drown out the symphony of pleasure coming from Emily's room. But no matter how hard she tried, her body refused to cooperate. It was as if every cell was attuned to the sounds next door, every nerve ending alive and humming with anticipation.

The scent of sex hung heavy in the air, a musky, intoxicating aroma that seemed to seep through the walls, filling Sarah's nostrils, her lungs, her very being. She could almost taste it, sweet and salty, a tangy reminder of the illicit acts unfolding mere feet away.

Her mouth watered, her body aching with a hunger that was both physical and psychological. She wanted, needed, to be a part of their shared ecstasy, to lose herself in the raw, primal dance of flesh on flesh.

But just as she got up the noises stopped . Sarah's eyes widened in surprise. She waited for a moment, listening intently, but there was nothing. No more moans, no more slapping of skin, no more whispered words. Just silence.

Sarah let out a sigh of relief mixed with disappointment. She flopped back onto her bed, her body still thrumming with unspent desire. She was grateful for the reprieve, but her body ached for release, a tension building within her that begged for satisfaction.

She lay there for a moment, her mind racing, her heart pounding.

She could still hear the echoes of pleasure in her mind, the ghost of their moans lingering in the air. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart, to still the ache deep within her.

But she heard Emily's door open and then close, and right after the door to their apartment did the same.

Sarah's heart leapt into her throat as she realized that Marcus was leaving. She jumped out of bed, her heart pounding furiously, and crept towards the door. She cracked it open just enough to peek out and saw Marcus standing by the door, putting on his jacket. Emily was leaning against the wall, her hair disheveled, her clothes rumpled, a satisfied smile on her face.

"Thanks for tonight, Marcus," Emily said, her voice low and sultry. "That was... intense."

Marcus smirked, his eyes glinting in the dim light. "Anytime, Emily.

You know where to find me," Marcus replied, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down Sarah's spine. He turned to leave, but paused for a moment, his gaze flicking towards Sarah's slightly ajar door. She held her breath, praying he hadn't noticed her spying, but his expression gave nothing away. He simply nodded, a small, knowing smile playing on his lips, before stepping out into the night.

Sarah let out a sigh of relief, her heart still pounding in her chest.

She closed the door softly, her mind racing, her body still humming with unspent desire. She leaned against the wood, her eyes closed, trying to regain her composure.

But the image of Marcus's smirk, the gleam in his eyes, was burnt into her mind's eye. She could still feel the weight of his gaze, the promise in his words. "Anytime, Emily. You know where to find me." The words echoed in her mind, a taunting whisper that sent a shiver down her spine.

Sarah pushed off from the door, her heart still pounding, and made her way back to her bed. She knew she should try to sleep, that tomorrow would be a long day with Ben's arrival, but her body was still humming with tension, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts and images she couldn't outrun.

She climbed into bed, pulling the covers up to her chin, and stared up at the ceiling. The room was bathed in the soft glow of the street lamp outside, casting long, dancing shadows on the walls.

Sarah's eyes fluttered closed, her mind trying to quiet the symphony of thoughts that refused to let her rest. She took a deep breath, inhaling the cool night air, and exhaled slowly, trying to calm her racing heart.

But the scent of sex still lingered, a musky reminder of the illicit acts that had unfolded mere feet away. She tried to push the thoughts away, to focus on anything but the man who had haunted her dreams and now her reality.

But it was no use.

Every time Sarah closed her eyes, she was transported back to the scene in Emily's room, the sounds of pleasure echoing in her mind like a haunting melody. She could still see Marcus's hands on Emily's body, his mouth on hers, his eyes dark with desire. The image was seared into her mind, a vivid, technicolor snapshot that refused to fade.

Sarah tossed and turned, her body aching for release, her mind a whirlwind of desire and guilt. She knew she should be focusing on Ben, on their upcoming reunion, but all she could think about was sex.

Sex with Marcus, sex with Emily, sex with anyone. She was hungry, insatiable, a raging inferno of desire that threatened to consume her whole.

She tried to distract herself, to focus on anything but the throbbing ache between her thighs. She counted the tiles on the ceiling, traced the patterns in the wallpaper, even tried to recite the Gettysburg Address from memory. It was as if every cell was attuned to the lingering scent of sex, every nerve ending alive and humming with anticipation.

Sarah's body was a live wire, a powder keg ready to explode at the slightest touch.

She couldn't shake the image of Marcus's hands on Emily's body, his mouth on hers, his eyes dark with desire. The memory of their illicit tryst was a relentless, torturous loop playing in her mind, a vivid, technicolor snapshot that refused to fade.

She knew she should be spending the night before Ben's arrival in a state of anxious anticipation, not a feverish state of lustful torment. But here she was, her body aching for release, her mind a whirlwind of desire and guilt.

"Its fine I'll just have sex with Ben tomorrow and everything will be over" Sarah muttered to herself as she finally drifted off to sleep.
