Chapter 7: Ben's Arrival

The crisp autumn air nipped at Sarah's nose as she waited on the bustling campus steps, her heart fluttering like a caged bird. She clutched her phone, Ben's message still glowing on the screen - *I'm here, beautiful. Can't wait to see you.* Her stomach churned with a mix of excitement and anxiety, her mind a whirlwind of memories and anticipation.

As the crowd of students ebbed and flowed around her, she caught a glimpse of a familiar face. Ben's warm smile lit up the space between them, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he approached.

Sarah's heart leapt in her chest, her breath catching in her throat as she took in his familiar frame, his easy gait, the way his hair fell across his forehead. He was still hers, still the boy she had fallen in love with, still the one who made her feel safe and seen.

"Ben," she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper as he closed the distance between them. His arms wrapped around her, pulling her close, his scent enveloping her like a warm blanket. She melted into him, her body molding to his, her fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt.

She could feel his heart beating against her cheek, steady and strong, a reassuring rhythm that calmed her racing thoughts. She took a deep breath, inhaling his scent, a mix of laundry detergent and the faintest hint of cologne, a smell that was uniquely Ben.

He pulled back, his hands cupping her face, his thumbs brushing away the tears she hadn't realized were falling. "Hey, hey, what's wrong, Sarah?" His voice was soft, concerned, his eyes searching hers.

She shook her head, trying to smile through her tears. "Nothing, I'm just...

really happy to see you," she managed to say, her voice thick with emotion. Ben's face broke into a wide smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he leaned in to press a soft kiss to her lips. It was a chaste kiss, a promise of more to come, and it sent a shiver down Sarah's spine.

Ben pulled back, his forehead resting against hers, his breath warm on her face. "I'm happy to see you too, Sarah.

More than you know," Ben murmured, his voice a low rumble that sent a shiver down her spine. He took her hand, lacing their fingers together, and led her through the bustling campus towards her dorm. The leaves crunched underfoot, the air thick with the scent of damp earth and woodsmoke, a comforting reminder of home.

The dorm loomed before them, the ivy-covered walls casting long, dancing shadows in the afternoon sunlight. Sarah's heart pounded in her chest as she led Ben up the narrow staircase, her mind racing with thoughts of what was to come.

His hand was warm and reassuring in hers, his thumb tracing circles on her skin, a silent promise of the intimacy they were about to share.

The dorm room was small and cluttered, a stark contrast to the neat, tidy space she had left behind at home. Clothes were strewn across the twin beds, books and papers littered the desk, and the air was thick with the scent of laundry detergent and the faintest hint of last night's Chinese takeout.

Ben raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips as he took in the chaos.

"Cozy," he commented, a chuckle escaping him as he set his bag down on the floor. Sarah rolled her eyes, a blush creeping up her cheeks as she began to tidy up, gathering clothes and tossing them into a hamper in the corner. "It's not usually this bad," she muttered, her voice defensive. She could feel Ben's eyes on her, his gaze warm and amused as he watched her flustered attempts to clean up. "Sarah," he said, his voice soft, "it's fine.

It's just a room. It doesn't change how I feel about you." He stepped closer, his hands finding her hips, his eyes never leaving hers. "I've missed you, Sarah. Missed this," he murmured, his lips brushing against hers in a feather-light kiss. She could feel his heart beating against her chest, steady and strong, a reassuring rhythm that calmed her racing thoughts.

He deepened the kiss, his tongue tracing the seam of her lips, coaxing them open.

He tasted like home, like comfort, like everything she had been missing in the weeks since she had left for college.

She melted into him, her body molding to his as if they were two pieces of a puzzle finally clicking into place. His hands roamed her back, tracing the curve of her spine, pulling her closer, as if he too was desperate to erase the distance between them.

Sarah's hands found their way to his chest, feeling the solid muscle beneath his shirt, the steady beat of his heart. She could feel the heat of him, the electricity that always seemed to spark between them, and she knew that she never wanted to let him go.

Ben's hands moved to her hair, his fingers tangling in the strands as he deepened the kiss, his tongue exploring her mouth with a hunger that matched her own.

Sarah's breath hitched as Ben's hands moved to her waist, his fingertips brushing against the bare skin where her shirt had ridden up. His touch was feather-light, yet it sent shivers down her spine, her nerves alight with anticipation. She gasped as his hands moved higher, his thumbs brushing against the underside of her breasts, her nipples hardening in response.

Ben pulled back, his eyes dark with desire as he looked at her.
