Maddie has always been the good girl. But she’s tired of resisting what she wants.

Characters

  • Ben — A quiet, highly skilled tech specialist who manages the audio and live-streaming equipment for the church's services. He spends his Sundays hidden away in the dark sanctuary booth, observing the congregation and Maddie from a distance.
  • Maddie — The charismatic worship leader at a sprawling evangelical church, tasked with setting the emotional tone for thousands every Sunday. She is highly visible and deeply invested in her reputation, making her attraction to a tech-booth worker a dangerous deviation from her carefully curated life.

Chapter 1: Late Night Seduction

The final bass note decayed into the last empty pew, the reverb dying over polished concrete. Ben killed the stage mics, watched the master fader LED flicker to amber, then killed that too. Blue monitor glow washed his hands. He pulled his headphones down around his neck and rolled his shoulders.

He didn't hear her coming. The meeting room wing was deep carpet and drywall, but the sanctuary floor was concrete. Still, the sanctuary could swallow a thousand people in its echo. One woman in heels could move like a cat.

"Still here."

Ben went stiff. Maddie stood at the far edge of the booth, hands in the pockets of her slim jeans. The booth ran below the balcony rail, a dark concavity with a steel console built into the wall. She'd never once come down here. She had her own corner backstage with her acoustic and her water bottle and her perfectly rehearsed banter.

"Powering down," he said. "Shaker mic picks up the HVAC for another forty minutes, don't worry."

She came closer. Her hair fell in soft waves to her shoulders, still holding the curl from the morning's set. She wore a slim-fit merino sweater, sage green, with three buttons at the neck. He watched her eyes track the faders, the rack-mounted screens, the tangled XLR snake.

"Should be locked, you know." He tapped the door frame. "I can wait till you're done loading out."

"Everyone's gone. I told the band I'd finish the set close-out."

"Then you should be done."

"Ben." She stepped into the reach of the blue glow. Her face shifted, the studio-light softness gone. Under the monitor light her jaw had hard shadows. "I'm tired of the distance."

"Distance."

"You know exactly what it is." She looked at him, vestibule-quiet, a locked-knee stillness. "You're the only one in that building who sees me before the mic hits my mouth. You watch me sing. You watch me talk to the congregation. You watch me when I stand at the edge of the stage waiting for the bridge to hit, and I see you, Ben. That booth is dark and you think I can't see you, but the stage lights bounce off that glass rail and I can."

His throat tightened. He reached for the power strip on the console. "I should get the mains."

She caught his wrist.

Her hand was warm, fine-boned, and her ring pressed into his skin. She didn't pull his hand. She held it. He went still like a sideman whose click track had dropped, one beat of weightless sound before everything dropped to silence.

"I've been standing there for two years," she said. "And I keep thinking about what your hands do in the dark."

"Maddie."

"Don't." Her voice shifted into the low hum she used for the end of the big anthem, a voice that went under the drums and settled in your sternum. "Don't ask me to be the leader out here. I'm not leading anything right now."

She moved first, stepping forward until her chest brushed his. Then she reached past his shoulder to the master fader and pushed it to minus infinity. The booth went quiet, no hum, no shimmer from the monitor, nothing but the sound of both of them breathing.

"See what that does?" She turned back, tongue moving over her lower lip. "That's it. That's what I get at the end of every song. The sound just stops, and you're up here alone in the dark, pulling it all out of the air."

He cleared his throat. "You want a lesson in audio engineering, Maddie."

"No," she said. "I want you."

The words landed inside him like a missed note, loud enough to register but impossible to place. She pressed her palm flat against his chest, between his collarbones, and pushed. The back of his thighs hit the rolling stool. She pushed again, and he sat down hard, the stool rolling a few inches before hitting the console.

"No bullshit." She pulled the three buttons open on her sweater. The shirt came apart, revealing the smooth center column of her torso down to the waistband of her jeans, and the soft lace edges of a bralette, nude. Slim, athletic muscle in her stomach. "I've watched you watch me. Now I want you to stop watching."

"Maddie, this is a church."

"I know what it is." She hooked one thumb through the waistband of her jeans, popped the metal button. The fly zipped down with a high, metallic rasp. "Two years, Ben. Two years of your fingers working faders and cables, and I don't even know what that dark booth feels like. I could hear you adjusting the monitor mix from stage and I'd get wet thinking about your hands."

He heard himself say "fuck" before he decided to say it. The word hung in the dead quiet. She smiled.

She pushed her jeans and underwear down together, stepping out of them, hips working free. She stood in front of him in the lace bralette, the pale line of her pubic hair a subtle delta at her crotch. She was shaved above, a dark strip left below, the skin of her thighs smooth and warm in the blue glow.

"Good boy," she said. "You stay right there. You've been waiting for a while."

She kicked off her heels and knelt on the floor of the booth, pushing the stool back with her palms against his knees. Her hands went to his belt. The leather creaked as she found the buckle. She worked the button of his cargos, pulled the zipper down, and reached into his briefs.

Her fingers. warm, quick, found his cock, hard already and thickening against her grip. She stroked up the underside with her thumb, slow, deliberate, gazing at it as she pulled him free. He was heavy in her hand, flushed, and the air of the booth was cool against the head.

"Christ," she breathed. "You've been hiding this in here every Sunday."

"Maddie."

She'd wrapped his length fully, a firm, moist circle of grip, and was jacking him slowly, letting the foreskin roll over the ridge of the glans. He grabbed the edge of the console, knuckles white.

"Stand up a little," she said. "I want to feel you hit the back of my throat."

He obeyed, and she leaned forward, mouth open. Her tongue came out, flat and soft, and pressed along the underside of his cock from base to tip in one long dip. Then she took him in, hollowing her cheeks in a single swallow. Her nose pressed against his pubic bone. The sight of her mouth stretched, her jaw working, the church's worship leader with her knees on a dark booth floor, blew through him like a kick drum.

"Fuck," she said, pulling off with a wet pop arching up at him. "You feel so good. I've thought about this so many times."

She took him in again, deeper this time, wet hand at the base, tongue flat against the underside as she slid up, crown scratching the ridge of her upper palate. He watched her head move, brown hair catching the blue glow, a strand sticking to the corner of her mouth. She looked up at him while she worked, eyes half-lidded, holding his gaze in the dark.

He pulled her up by the shoulders. "Stand up."

She did, mouth wet and slightly swollen. He sank to his knees and shoved one hand between her legs, palm flat against her mound, and pressed in. She was soaked. Her slickness ran over his fingers, over the delicate skin of her inner thigh.

"Jesus," he said. "You're fucking dripping, Maddie."

She bucked into his fingers, letting out a raw, breathy moan. "Don't stop. Don't you stop."

He pushed two fingers into her, feeling the glide and heat of her, the soft give of her inner walls. She rode them, hips rolling, one hand gripping the steel console rail for balance. Her head fell back, soft sounds catching in her throat.

"Get up," she managed. "God, Ben, I need you inside me. Please."

He stood and she turned, bending over the console, her palms flat on the metal bar beside his monitors, ass out toward him. The cold blue glow painted curves and shadows across her body. She reached back with one hand, hooked her fingers into herself, spread her ass open wide.

"Come on," she said. "Use me."

He stepped in, gripped his cock at the base, found her entrance by feel. Already swollen and slick and yielding, his first press slid all the way in to the root in one smooth glide. She cried out, a high, raw waver, and brace against the console.

"Oh fuck," she gasped. "That's it. That's so fucking deep."

He pulled out slowly, the blunt drag of his shaft against her inner walls sending a shiver up his spine, then drove back in hard. Her shoulders shook. He moved one hand around her hip and found her clit, slick and firm between two fingers, and worked it in tight circles as he drove into her.

"God, yes," she gasped. "Don't stop, don't you dare stop."

He drove harder, faster, wet noises filling the quiet dark booth. A monitor screen flickered to life with a low startup chime, casting sudden moving images across her arcing back. Her thighs clamped together for a moment then spread out again, straining.

"Almost there," she panted. "So close, keep going."

He held on, sensing the build in her body, the way her breath caught, the tightening of her muscles. He sped up, finger never leaving her clit.

"Now," she gasped, mouth open and throat taut. "Ben, now."

She came with a hard, bucking wave, slick clenching around him. The pulsing ripple of her heat dragged him over the edge. He drove deep and held there, emptying inside her, the hot rush of release pouring through him. For a moment the booth was pure shuddering silence, their sweat-slick skin meeting in a heavy clasp.

She slid forward off his cock and leaned against the console, hands shaking. Her back rose and fell, breath coming in heavy drops. After a long moment she turned, her face flushed.

"Same time next Sunday?" she asked.
