Chapter 2: Chapter 2
She could see the fear and apprehension written all over his face, and she knew exactly what was going through his head.
"What do you think you're doing?" she asked, her voice calm and even. "And don't lie to me, I saw you sneaking out of my room earlier."
Son swallowed hard, his eyes darting around the room before finding his mother's. "I-I just wanted to see what it felt like," he stammered, barely above a whisper.
"To wear it, like you did."
Mom's eyes narrowed, and Son could sense her gears turning, calculating his every move.
"And what do you mean 'like me'?" she said, her voice dangerously low.
"You have no idea what you're getting yourself into."
Son looked down at the floor, his heart racing. He knew that he had crossed a line, that he was treading on dangerous territory. But he couldn't help himself, couldn't resist the pull of the forbidden.
"I-I'm s-sorry," he stammered, his voice cracking with fear.
Mom stepped closer to him, her eyes fixed on the tube of lipstick in his hand. "No," she said, her voice cold and unyielding.
"You have no idea the consequences of what you're doing. It's not a game, and it's not something to be taken lightly."
Son stood there for a moment, frozen in place, his heart pounding in his chest. He knew that he had made a mistake, that he had pushed things too far. But he couldn't bring himself to take the lipstick back, couldn't bring himself to admit defeat.
Mom took a step closer to him, her eyes locked on the tube of lip stick in his hand.
