Chapter 1: Introduction
The moon shone overhead, a silvery slice of light hovering in the night sky as Jake plastered himself against the wall of a house he’d been watching for days. He glanced over at his partner-in-crime, Ethan. With a devilish grin that reflected in his sparkling blue eyes, Ethan gave him the thumbs up. They wore matching navy-blue ski masks, gloves, and jeans.
“Remember, cautious and serious.
Let the house tell us its secrets, not the other way around,” Jake whispered, his voice barely audible above the soft hum of the city. He took a deep breath, gripped the handle of the baseball bat he carried like his lifeline, and stepped towards the glass doors.
Ethan shook his head playfully, brandishing a loot bag like a trophy. “Relax, Jakesy. We’ve done this a hundred times.
It always ends the same, with us slipping back into the night, our pockets and bags heavy with our unearned spoils, while our victim never knows we were even there. Sure, it’s not the honest way to earn a living, but we both have a bit of wanderlust in our hearts. We need to keep moving and can’t afford to be tied down by mindless day jobs. We're two lost souls, unable to escape the intoxicating allure that each shadowed dwelling presents us.
Jake hesitated, hand hovering centimeters away from the cold glass door. They communicated using a shadow dance - an exchange of subtle gestures, nods, and glances, avoiding any speech that might potentially expose them or trigger an alarm.
A sense of urgency in Ethan's glinting eyes urged Jake on, and he slid the door open, stepping inside the sleek and modern abode filled with plush furnishings and expansive glass windows that showcased the breathtaking view of the twinkling cityscape below.
Ethan followed suit, the quiet crunch of gravel underfoot highlighting their presence. The inside of the house was stark and minimal, illuminated by the pale glow of artificial light. It felt almost as if they were intruders in an art gallery, rather than the intention of their visit.
As they moved deeper into the house, their footsteps echoing softly through the silent corridors, the sudden sound of laughter reached their ears. They exchanged hesitant glances, wondering if their plot had somehow unraveled.
They must've heard things, and went upstairs to a bedroom and saw a guy sleeping.
A beautiful man with short brown hair and a muscular build, innocently unaware that his life about to be turned upside down.
The guy, whom they came to know later as Mark, startled awake upon hearing their barely contained gasps and footsteps. "Who-who's there?" he stammered. Instead of fear or screaming for the authorities, Mark stayed put, curiosity clouding his wide eyes.
Jake poked his head tentatively into the room and asked, "Hey man, there's no need to be alarmed. We're just here for a little..
he covered Mark's mouth with his hand.
Jake: Don't say anything.
Ethan tore Mark's undershirt revealing his bare chest they both admire it.
He started to lick his chest.
A slow, intentional trail of moist kisses that traveled downward, dragging Mark deeper into unknown waters. The warm wetness was surprisingly captivating, causing a strange sensation to ripple through his body, as if waking him from a dream.
Jake's voice rang like a low bass, cutting through the tension. "We're burglars. We're here to take whatever we can, but we don't want any trouble.
Mark stared at the masked figure kneeling on his bed, the renegade burglar gently tracing a path across his body with the tip of his tongue, slowly dampening the fabric of his boxers.
Jake was standing by the door, his gaze fixed intently on the tableau unfolding before him, an internal struggle written clearly on his face as he wrestled with moral dilemmas and primal instincts.
