Chapter 1: Introduction
The day I realized I was a virgin was a day like any other. The sun blazed high overhead, casting long shadows along the sidewalks. The campus buzzed with the familiar murmur of college life. The coeds chatted in clusters while the smell of hot dogs from a nearby cart wafted through the air.
Emily and I strolled along the worn footpath, her laughter piercing the air like chimes. She was a head-turner: short brown hair cut in a stylish bob, accentuating her heart-shaped face. Those piercing green eyes could see right through me.
We were friends—platonic ones. We had met during freshman orientation and had been practically inseparable ever since. She understood me better than anyone else and, even though we had never taken our friendship to the next level, she knew that I struggled with my emotions.
"Can we share a secret?" Emily whispered softly, her voice barely audible over the hum of the campus.
I looked at her curiously, wondering what she could possibly have to say that required such discretion. Her eyes seemed to dance with excitement as she turned to face me, her breath warm on my cheek.
"What is it?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest.
She leaned in closer, her lips barely brushing against my ear as she spoke. "I'm a virgin too."
The words hung in the air between us, heavy with the weight of unspoken implications. I stared at her, my mind racing, trying to process the enormity of her confession.
"Really?" I managed to ask, my voice barely above a whisper.
Emily nodded, her eyes shining with a mixture of vulnerability and excitement.
"We can explore together," she said, her voice soft but firm. "We can learn about each other, about ourselves. We can do it right here, right now."
My heart skipped a beat as I looked into her eyes. The idea was foreign, yet exhilarating. I had always been drawn to Emily, her confidence and beauty captivating me. And now, here she was, offering me something I had never even dared to dream of.
"Are you sure?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Emily smiled, her green eyes twinkling with mischief. "More than ever," she said, taking my hand in hers. "We'll go slow, okay? We'll do whatever feels right for us."
I nodded, my heart racing. This was it—the moment I had been waiting for, yet had never truly believed would come.
