Chapter 19: The Morning Call
The morning light felt thin, insubstantial. It painted the kitchen in weak gold but left the corners shrouded in gray. Kelly sat at the butcher-block counter, the polished wood cool against her forearms. One hand cradled a cooling mug of coffee; the other held the black card. She’d dug it out from under the takeout menus before Ben woke up, her fingers leaving faint prints on the matte surface.
The scone she’d nibbled lay abandoned, a crumbling monument to her unease. She could still smell the cinnamon on her hands, mingling with the ghost of sex from the living room—a musk that seemed to have seeped into the very walls. Ben had kissed her goodbye this morning, his touch tender, his eyes full of a baffled wonder. It made her feel like a forgery.
Her thumb traced the embossed numbers.Ten digits.A bridge. The silence of the house was a vacuum, pressing in on her ears. It was broken by the phantom slap of flesh, the memory of her own commanding voice.Fill me up.She stood up abruptly, the stool legs scraping against the floor tile. The sound was too loud. She picked up the cordless phone from its cradle, its plastic warm from the charger. Her index finger stabbed the numbers, her breath held somewhere high in her chest.
It rang once.Twice.
“I was expecting your call.” Elena’s voice was a low purr, devoid of surprise. It was the voice of someone who had been sitting in a quiet room, waiting.Perfectly composed.Kelly’s tongue felt thick. “You said… you could teach me.”
“I can.” A soft clink sounded in the background, a spoon against ceramic.“But specifics are better discussed in person.Come over. I’ve just made a fresh pot. You still taste like regret and cheap wine, and coffee is a better start.”
The observation was so precise it felt like a violation.Kelly glanced down at her wrinkled sleep shirt. “Now?”
“Is there a better time?” Elena countered, her tone gently mocking. “Before the day talks you out of it? Before your sweet husband texts you a heart emoji and you decide to go back to playing house?”
The words were needles. They found their marks. Kelly’s grip tightened on the phone.“Alright.I’m coming.”
“Good girl.”
The line went dead. The words hung in the air, an echo of Jack’s patronizing praise, but they didn’t sting the same way. They sparked a different, darker warmth in her belly.
Five minutes later, she was walking down the sidewalk, the morning dew dampening the canvas of her sneakers. Elena’s house was a mirror image of her own, but transformed. Where Kelly’s was cluttered with cozy neglect, Elena’s was stark, almost minimalist. The lawn was perfectly edged. The front door was painted a deep slate gray.It opened before she could knock.
Elena stood there, holding a mug of black coffee. She wore cream-colored silk trousers and a simple tank top, her bare feet pale against the dark hardwood floor.“You made it,” she said, stepping aside. “Come in.It’s just us.”
The interior was cool, airy. Sparse furniture, a single abstract painting on the wall, no family photos. It smelled of clean linen and expensive espresso. Elena led her to a sunroom at the back, glass on three sides overlooking a manicured garden. Two chairs faced each other over a small iron table.
“Sit,” Elena instructed, not unkindly. She placed the mug in front of Kelly and took the other seat, curling her legs beneath her.Her eyes, sharp and assessing, scanned Kelly’s face.“So. You used what I gave you.On Ben.”
It wasn’t a question. Kelly nodded, wrapping her hands around the warm mug.
“And?”
“And it worked.” Kelly heard the defiance in her own voice.“He was… surprised.”
Elena’s lips curved. “I’m sure he was.The kitten showed her claws. But it’s not just about surprising him, Kelly. It’s about remodeling the entire relationship. It’s about making your pleasure the primary objective, not a happy byproduct of his.”
“I did that,” Kelly insisted, thinking of her own climax, how she’d taken it.
“You scratched the surface.” Elena sipped her coffee, watching over the rim.“Jack’s poison is insidious. It teaches you that your power is transactional. That you have to earn your orgasms by being a good fuck. I’m here to teach you that your orgasm is the currency. That you decide who pays, and how.” She set her cup down with a soft click. “This isn’t just about sex. It’s about attention. It’s about focus. It’s about making him so obsessed with the promise of your body that he’ll agree to anything.”
Kelly felt a flutter, a mix of revulsion and fascination. “How?”
Elena leaned forward, her gaze intent.“Control the narrative. If you want him to fuck you on the kitchen counter, you don’t just climb up and spread your legs. You wear a dress with no underwear to breakfast. You bend over just slightly too far to get the orange juice. You let him see the shadow, the suggestion. You let his mind cook all morning. By the time he comes home, he’ll be so hard he’ll barely be able to speak. That’s when you send him a text. One sentence.I’m still thinking about you seeing me this morning. Then you turn your phone off.You let him simmer. When he finally gets to you, he’ll be frantic. He’ll be putty. That’s power. Not just riding him like a mindless piston.”
The scenario unfolded in Kelly’s mind, vivid and thrilling. It was chess, not checkers. “And what if… what if I want something else?” The question left her lips before she could stop it.Elena’s eyebrow arched. “Something else?”
“Something… not with Ben.”
A slow, understanding smile spread across Elena’s face.“Ah. The hunger he left you with. It’s not for your husband, is it? It’s for the feeling.” She uncurled herself from the chair and stood up. She moved around the table until she was standing beside Kelly’s chair. Her perfume, that clean ozone scent, washed over her.“Jack’s lessons are all about him.Taking.Conquering. Mine are about you.Receiving. Commanding.” Her hand came to rest on Kelly’s shoulder. “Have you ever been touched by a woman, Kelly?”
Kelly’s breath hitched. The warmth of Elena’s hand seeped through the thin cotton of her shirt. “No.”
“There’s no conquest there. No performance. Just… exploration.” Elena’s fingers began a slow, gentle massage of Kelly’s taut shoulder muscle. “A woman knows what a woman likes. She can mirror your pleasure. It’s a different kind of control. Softer. Deeper.”
Kelly’s mind raced, a chaotic blend of nerves and a deep, unsettling curiosity.Elena’s touch was expert, soothing and stimulating all at once. It didn’t demand; it invited.“Stand up,” Elena whispered.Kelly stood, her legs feeling unsteady. They were close now, facing each other in the flooded morning light. Elena’s eyes were dark pools, absorbing her.“This is a lesson in attention,” Elena murmured. Her hands came up to cradle Kelly’s face, thumbs stroking the high bones of her cheeks. “In being observed, completely, without judgment.” She leaned in and brushed her lips against Kelly’s. It was a whisper of a kiss, dry and soft.A question.Kelly answered by parting her lips. The second kiss was deeper.Elena’s mouth was warm, her tongue probing with a lazy, confident grace. There was no rush.No force.Kelly melted into it, a soft sigh escaping her. One of Elena’s hands slid down her neck, over her collarbone, to cup her breast through the shirt. Her thumb circled the nipple, which pebbled instantly into a hard, aching point.“See?” Elena breathed against her mouth.“No grabbing. Just… knowing.”
Kelly’s hands came up, gripping Elena’s slender hips, pulling her closer. The silk of her trousers was shockingly smooth under her palms.
Elena guided her backward, step by slow step, until the backs of Kelly’s knees hit the edge of the plush, low sofa in the sunroom. She sank down, and Elena followed, straddling her lap, their kisses deepening, turning hungrier.Kelly’s glasses fogged.Elena gently took them off and set them aside. The world went softly blurry, leaving only the sharp, beautiful lines of Elena’s face in extreme focus.
Elena’s hands pulled at Kelly’s shirt, lifting it over her head. The cool air touched her skin, followed immediately by the heat of Elena’s mouth trailing down her neck, to her chest. She took Kelly’s nipple into her mouth, sucking firmly, her tongue flicking the tip.“Oh, God,” Kelly gasped, her head falling back.It was different. It was knowing.Every pull was a direct line to her core, which clenched, empty and wet.
Elena switched to the other breast, lavishing it with the same attentive worship. Her hands were everywhere, mapping the curve of Kelly’s waist, the swell of her hips, the sensitive skin of her inner thighs. She was learning her, and in doing so, teaching Kelly about herself.
“You’re so responsive,” Elena murmured, her breath hot on Kelly’s damp skin. “So ready.” Her fingers hooked into the waistband of Kelly’s cotton shorts and panties, and in one smooth motion, she peeled them down her legs, tossing them aside. Kelly was naked, exposed in the bright sunroom, and the feeling was not of vulnerability, but of profound exposure.Of being seen.Elena knelt on the floor between Kelly’s spread legs. She didn’t dive in.She just looked, her dark eyes drinking in the sight. “Beautiful,” she said, almost to herself. Then she leaned forward, but not to use her mouth. She first pressed a soft, open-mouthed kiss to the inside of Kelly’s thigh. Then another, higher. Her nose nuzzled through the trimmed blonde curls. Kelly trembled, anticipation coiling tight in her stomach.
When Elena’s tongue finally touched her, it was a flat, broad stroke from her opening all the way up to her clit.A slow, deliberate claiming. Kelly cried out, her hands flying to tangle in Elena’s dark hair.
Elena’s technique was nothing like the frantic, goal-oriented fumbling she was used to. It was an artist’s study. Long, languid licks alternated with tight, focused circles around her clit. She would delve deep inside with the tip of her tongue, tasting her, before returning to the sensitive bud, suckling it gently between her lips. She followed the rhythm of Kelly’s hips, her moans, her whispers of “right there,” building the pleasure in a steady, unbearable crescendo.
Kelly was babbling, a stream of “please” and “yes” and “don’t stop.” The control was entirely Elena’s, but it was a control bestowed, not stolen. It felt like a gift.
“Come for me,” Elena commanded softly, her lips moving against Kelly’s slick flesh. “Let me feel you come on my tongue.”
It was the permission, the gentle order, that shattered her. The orgasm ripped through her, a deep, rolling wave that was less violent than the one with Ben, but more pervasive. It shuddered through her entire body, leaving her limbs weak and her lungs burning for air. Elena rode it out, lapping gently until Kelly flinched from over-sensitivity.Elena rose, her lips glistening. She kissed Kelly again, letting her taste herself, the act deeply, profoundly intimate. Kelly clung to her, her mind blank and humming.
“That,” Elena said, stroking her hair, “is how you deserve to be touched.Remember that feeling. That’s the standard. Now you know what to take, and what to ask for.”
They sat tangled for a long while, the sun climbing higher, heating the glass of the sunroom. Eventually, Elena fetched a robe and wrapped it around Kelly’s shoulders.
“When you go home,” Elena said, her business-like tone returning, “you will be different.Ben will see it.He’ll feel the shift.Use it. Plan your next move. The text, the dress, the counter. Make him dream of you.”
Kelly nodded, dressed in a daze.At the front door, Elena stopped her.
“And Kelly?” she said.“This wasn’t about me.This was about you.Remember that, too. You are the prize. Act like it.”
Walking back home, the sun now firmly entrenched in the sky, Kelly felt the ghost of Elena’s tongue between her legs with every step. The hunger was still there, but it had shape now.It had a direction. She wasn’t just a vessel for someone else’s desire anymore. She was a map, and she was beginning to learn the terrain. She unlocked her own front door, stepping back into the familiar scent of cinnamon and vanilla. But it smelled different now.It smelled like a stage. She walked to the kitchen counter and ran her hand along the cool butcher block, her mind already drafting a text, already selecting a dress.
