Chapter 6: Dawn's First Light
“I want you to watch me with her,” Char said to Tom, the decision crystalizing as she spoke. Her eyes didn’t leave his. “Just watch.” Emily’s hand slid higher, a clear question. Char finally broke Tom’s gaze to look at her. “Go on,” Char breathed, giving permission.
Emily climbed onto the bed, her body slotting against Char’s with a practiced ease that spoke of their kitchen-floor intimacy. She kissed Char, a deep, languid exploration that tasted of morning and them. From the foot of the bed, Char heard the shift of fabric, the quiet, focused attention of her audience of two. This was different than the frantic energy of before; this was a slow, deliberate performance, a gift wrapped in sunlight for her husband’s eyes alone.
Emily’s fingers traced the line of Char’s jaw, then drifted lower. “He’s really watching, you know,” she whispered against Char’s neck, her breath hot. Her other hand smoothed over Char’s stomach, a possessive slide.
Char arched into the touch, a soft sigh escaping her. She could feel the weight of Tom’s gaze like a physical warmth across her skin. “I know,” she murmured back, letting her head fall to the side to see him.
Tom hadn’t moved from the foot of the bed. He was utterly still, a statue carved from desire, his blue eyes fixed on every point of contact. One hand rested absently on his thigh, the muscles in his forearm tense. Jake, beside him, shifted slightly, but Tom didn’t blink.
“Tell me what he’s doing,” Emily whispered, her lips traveling to Char’s collarbone. Her hand dipped lower, a promise. Char kept her eyes locked with Tom’s.
“He’s just… watching,” Char breathed, her voice catching as Emily’s fingers found her. Tom’s jaw tightened, a tiny fracture in his composure. He was drinking in every detail: the flutter of Char’s lashes, the responsive shiver Emily’s touch elicited.
Emily smiled against her skin, a knowing curve of her mouth. “Good.” She increased her pressure, her rhythm slow and teasing. Char’s back lifted off the sheets, a silent plea for more.
TOM WATCHES INTENTLY. He memorized the flutter of a pulse in Char’s throat, the way her teeth caught her lower lip. He saw the sheen of sweat beginning to glow in the hollow of her breast.
He watched the flush spread across her chest, a map of her pleasure he knew by heart but was seeing drawn by another's hand. Jake shifted beside him, the bedframe groaning under his weight as he adjusted his position.
"You good, man?" Jake's voice was low, a rough scrape in the hushed room. Tom didn't look away from Char, from the sight of Emily's dark hair spilling across his wife's stomach.
"Never better," Tom murmured, the words thick in his throat. His own need was a live wire, but it was secondary to the captivating spectacle of Char's surrender.
Emily's mouth followed where her fingers had been, and Char cried out, a sound that was half-surprise, half-triumph. Her hand fisted in Emily's hair, not pushing her away but holding her there, anchoring herself to the sensation.
"Jesus, Char," Tom breathed, more to himself than anyone. He could see the precise moment her control shattered, her body bowing off the mattress.
Her back arched, a perfect, tense curve, and her free hand reached out blindly across the rumpled sheets. It wasn't reaching for him, but the gesture somehow included him, pulled him into the vortex of her climax. She chanted a ragged, "Yes, yes, yes," that was both a command and a prayer.
The sound seemed to break a spell in Jake. He moved then, not toward Tom, but around him, his focus sliding from Char to Emily with a hunter's precision. He placed a firm hand on Emily's hip, his thumb digging into the bone. "My turn," he stated, his voice leaving no room for argument.
Emily lifted her head from Char, her lips glistening, her eyes glazed and defiant. She met Jake's look with a challenging smirk, but she was already shifting her weight, turning her body toward him.
Char fell back against the pillows, spent and glowing, her chest rising and falling in deep, ragged draws. Her eyes found Tom's again, heavy-lidded and sated. A slow, radiant smile spread across her face, just for him.
