Chapter 2: Internal Debate
The woman in front of Linda was older than she was, perhaps close to her own age. Her body was adorned with tattoos, each one telling a story, from the intricate phoenix rising from the ashes on her left shoulder to the delicate lotus flower blooming on her right hip. Linda’s hand hovered over the woman’s skin, the air between them charged with an electric tension. She could feel the woman’s breath, shallow and anticipatory, matching her own.
“You can do this,” Linda whispered to herself, her hand trembling slightly. She reached out, her fingers brushing against the woman’s collarbone. The skin was soft and warm, the contact sending a jolt through her.
Linda’s eyes met the woman’s gaze, which was hidden behind a silken mask but conveyed a warmth and understanding that put her at ease. She traced the line of a tattoo, a serpent coiling around the woman’s arm, its scaled body intricately detailed.
"Beautiful," Linda murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. The serpent seemed to come alive under her touch, the ink shimmering as if it held secrets only she could unlock.
The woman smiled, a subtle curve of her lips visible through the mask. "Thank you. It represents rebirth for me," she said softly, her voice husky and inviting.
"A chance to shed old skin and rise anew."
Linda nodded, her fingers tracing the lines of the serpent, feeling the woman's heartbeat beneath her touch. The room around them seemed to fade away, the hum of voices and the clink of glasses disappearing as Linda focused on the sensation of skin against skin.
"How did you find this place?" Linda asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
The woman chuckled, a low, sultry sound. "Oh, I've been a part of this world for a while. Women like us have a craving that husbands no longer satisfy, if they even bother to stick around anymore," she said, her voice tinged with a hint of bitterness.
Linda's eyes flicked to the woman's left hand, noticing the absence of a ring. She nodded, understanding the unspoken sentiment. Her own divorce had been a long, messy affair, leaving her with scars that ran deeper than the ink on this woman's skin.
"I'm Linda, by the way," she offered. The woman smiled, her eyes crinkling at the corners.
"No, no names here," she replied, "Only mirrors and reflections." Linda raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Mirrors and reflections?"
The woman nodded, her fingers brushing against Linda's wrist. "We are all mirrors, reflecting our deepest desires and fears. And sometimes, we need others to show us what we can't see in ourselves."
Linda's breath hitched as the woman's touch sent a shiver down her spine. She looked into the woman's eyes, trying to decipher the mystery behind the mask. There was a wisdom there, a depth of experience that was both intimidating and captivating.
Linda rushed back to the bar, snatching the wooden box and returning to the woman, her heart pounding with curiosity.
"Thank you for that insight," Linda said, her voice filled with a newfound resolve.
The woman smiled, her eyes crinkling warmly. "You're welcome, Linda. Remember, each touch is a mirror. Look closely."
Linda turned to the other women, each one unique, their bodies adorned with stories etched in ink and metal.
She approached a younger woman, her skin smooth and unmarred by age. A delicate hummingbird was tattooed on her chest, its wings outstretched, ready to take flight.
Linda shook her head at how quickly her internal pendulum had swung. She thought she'd never in a million years be comfortable here, and now she was... intrigued. Maybe even excited.
She reached out, her fingers gently tracing the edge of the hummingbird's wing. The young woman's breath hitched, the smallest of sounds that Linda might have missed if she wasn't so focused on the touch.
"It's a beautiful tattoo," Linda murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
The young woman nodded, her eyes hidden behind a mask that was adorned with feathers, echoing the bird on her skin.
As Linda continued tracing the wing, her thumb grazed something hard, flesh, but rigid .
"What's this?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
The woman smiled, her voice soft. "It's a barbell piercing. Gives a different sensation, don't you think?"
Linda's eyes widened slightly, realizing the young woman was referring to intimate piercings. Her thumb had grazed another woman's nipple.
Linda's cheeks flushed, a mix of surprise and arousal coursing through her. She had never imagined herself in a situation like this, yet here she was, exploring the bodies of strangers in a dimly lit club.
She met the young woman's gaze, her eyes wide behind the feathered mask. The woman smiled, her lips curving in a way that made Linda's heart skip a beat.
"Would you like to touch it?" the woman asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Linda hesitated, her hand still hovering over the woman's breast. She couldn't believe she was even considering this.
Just a few hours ago, she was in her office, surrounded by the comfortable, familiar hum of work. Now, she was in a dimly lit room, her hand hovering over a woman's breast, contemplating whether or not to touch a piercing she had never even seen before.
Linda looked around, her heart pounding in her chest. The room seemed to spin for a moment, the vibrant, sensual atmosphere suddenly overwhelming. She took a deep breath, her eyes flicking back to the young woman's masked face. There was no judgment in her eyes, only acceptance and a hint of anticipation.
"I..."
