Chapter 1: The God’s First Claim
The chamber was built for silence. Marble veined with gold caught the lamplight and fractured it into soft gleams, while the air hung heavy with incense that curled upward in threads of smoke, perfumed and suffocating all at once. Somewhere beyond the tall doors, lyres sang of feasting and celebration, but here—here there was only the taut rhythm of your heartbeat.
Calliope’s hand lingered at the small of your back as she guided you forward, her touch both reassuring and inescapable. Her presence was calm, regal, a Muse who had seen a hundred offerings before this one. Yet to you, every step toward the bed felt like crossing into a fate you had chosen without fully understanding.
You could not believe you had offered yourself. Not just to any man, not even to a mortal king, but to him—to Morpheus, Lord of Dreams. The thought unsettled you, thrilled you, made your stomach twist in dread and in longing.
The white linen robe clung to your skin, damp from the sweat of anticipation. You thought of your own words days earlier—when Calliope had asked, Would you serve us in this? Would you give yourself?—and how easily you had answered yes. As if it were no more than poetry, as if your body were not the poem to be read.
Your throat tightened. What if you were found lacking? What if you could not please him? You had never known a man’s touch, and now you were to bear the weight of one who was even more than a god.
You had heard stories of him.
Whispers that passed like contraband between mortals and immortals alike—spoken in tones half-awed, half-fearful. They said he was beautiful, but beauty like obsidian, sharp enough to wound. They said his temper could shatter kingdoms, his silences could strip the marrow from men’s bones. And they said, too, that when he took someone to his bed, he was as merciless there as in his throne room. That he was good—devastatingly so—but demanding, as if passion itself were another realm he ruled, one that bent to no one’s will but his.
Sensing the quake in your breath, Calliope’s fingers brushed the inside of your wrist, steadying you with the lightest pressure. Her voice was soft, almost coaxing, as though she were teaching a timid student to recite their first verse.
“He will like you,” she murmured. “Do not doubt that. He has always had a fondness for mortal fragility—because it is the opposite of what he is. You break, you tremble, you bleed… and he does none of those things. To him, that makes you desirable. He craves what he cannot be.”
You dared a glance at her, uncertain whether this was meant to comfort or to warn.
“Do not think weakness a fault,” she continued, her tone low and sure. “It is what sets you apart from queens, from goddesses, from the immortal lovers he has known. They could match him in power, in arrogance, in fire. But you—” Calliope’s hand slid from your wrist to rest lightly over your racing heart. “You give him something rarer. Fear. Yielding. The soft ache of surrender. That is where he finds beauty.”
Her words shivered through you, equal parts reassurance and dread. If what she said was true, then your trembling was not failure but invitation. And yet—what would it mean to surrender to an Endless who was said to be merciless even in love?
Calliope did not move away. Instead, her touch lingered, her fingers trailing lightly over the curve of your forearm, then back again in a slow, soothing rhythm. The caress was deliberate, meant to still the trembling she could feel beneath your skin.
“Breathe,” she whispered, her voice low and even. “Do not let dread rob you of this moment. You will enjoy this.”
Her hands smoothed along both your arms now, as though shaping you, guiding your posture the way she might have guided a poet’s line. The contact grounded you, yet it also left your skin prickling, alive with the awareness of what was about to come.
The air grew heavier. The incense thickened, pressing at your lungs. Calliope’s fingers tightened gently on your arms, as if to hold you steady against the weight of what approached.
Beyond the tall doors, the music faltered. Silence fell like a curtain, vast and expectant.
Her eyes lifted, fixed not on you but on the doors themselves. She smiled faintly, knowingly. “He is here.”
The bronze hinges groaned. The doors began to part.
The great doors stirred, parting with a low groan, and the air shifted as though the whole chamber had drawn a breath.
***
He stepped inside.
At first there was only the impression of him: tall, dark, cut from shadow and starlight. The lamplight caught in the folds of his black robe, scattering like sparks before being swallowed whole by the endlessness of him. His presence pressed against you, weightless yet crushing, as if he were less a man than the absence of all things.
Calliope’s hands remained at your arms, steadying you, her fingers tracing one last path over your trembling skin, but despite her reassurances, your body betrayed you—knees weakening, lips parting around a gasp you barely stifled.
Heat raced through you, though his aura was cold, almost unbearable in its stillness. The incense no longer smelled of flowers but of rain, of stone, of storms dreamt but never seen.
You lowered your gaze, unable to withstand the piercing pale fire of his eyes. The robe at your shoulders felt too thin, your skin too bare, every flaw suddenly glaring. A tremor seized your hands, and you pressed them together, hoping he had not noticed.
But he noticed everything.
He halted before you, his height and silence imposing, his gaze studying you as though he could peel back flesh and bone and read the essence of what you were. He spoke at last, voice deep and resonant, shaking something in you that was more than flesh:
“You are afraid.”
The words were not cruel. Not mocking. Simply fact, carved in stone.
Your throat tightened. “Yes,” you admitted, so softly you almost wished the sound would vanish before it reached him.
His hand lifted, long fingers brushing your chin, compelling you to look at him again. His eyes did not soften. Yet neither did they turn away.
Behind you, Calliope’s voice broke the silence, smooth as honey poured over marble. “And yet, she comes willingly. She has offered herself to you, Oneiros.”
The title lingered in the air like an invocation, and you felt the weight of it press against your skin. Offered. As if you were no longer flesh and bone, but an oath, a vow, a sacred prize.
Morpheus did not release your chin. His gaze narrowed, pale and consuming. “Is this true? Do you yield yourself freely?”
The chamber seemed to lean inward, waiting for your answer. The incense thickened in your lungs; your heart stuttered. You could not find breath, only words—barely more than a whisper.
“Yes, my lord. I… yield myself to you.”
The confession trembled from your lips, fragile as spun glass, yet the moment it left you, the chamber itself seemed to shift—shadows bending closer, the lamplight flaring as though the Dreaming had taken note.
Morpheus’s hand lingered at your chin, his thumb brushing once against the edge of your jaw, a touch that was not gentle, not cruel, but inevitable. His gaze scoured you, searching for cracks in the truth of your words.
“Then I will take what is given.”
The words seemed to echo, low and inexorable, sinking into your bones. You could not look away from him, though your whole body trembled under the weight of his gaze.
Calliope moved then, stepping into the silence with the poise of one who had performed this role many times before. Her hands returned to you—not to steady this time, but to reveal. With practiced ease she drew at the knot of your robe, the linen loosening around your shoulders, slipping down inch by inch.
It was not lewd. It was ceremonial. An unveiling.
The fabric whispered against your skin, and you gasped softly, clutching for breath as the cool air licked over your chest. Calliope’s fingers were deft but reverent, sliding the robe from your arms as though removing the wrappings from a sacred offering.
“As is custom,” she murmured, her voice smooth and certain, as if to reassure you, as if to remind him. “She comes unveiled, bare as truth, without deceit or guile.”
The robe pooled at your feet. You stood exposed before him, your trembling no longer hidden, every weakness laid bare beneath his pale, unblinking eyes.
Morpheus did not reach for you. He only watched, still as carved obsidian, the faintest stir of shadow curling at the edges of the chamber.
“So fragile,” he said at last, his voice deep, resonant, unreadable. “And yet, she offers herself.”
You stood trembling, the linen fallen to the marble like shed skin, Calliope’s hands retreating at last. The silence stretched, vast and unbearable. He only watched you—eyes pale as moonlight, steady as eternity.
Your breath caught, shallow and uneven. Every second of his stillness became a weight pressing harder against your chest. You almost wished he would speak, or move, or do anything at all—anything but leave you burning in the unbearable scrutiny of his gaze.
At last, he stepped closer. The air shifted with him, cool as night spilling over your skin. His hand rose again, slower this time, deliberate, as though he meant to test whether you would flinch. Long fingers brushed along the line of your collarbone, trailing lower until his palm rested just above your heart.
Your pulse thudded violently against his touch. His hand did not press, did not claim—he only held it there, measuring the frantic beat as though it were proof of your surrender.
Then Calliope moved. She came to him, not you, her steps unhurried, her poise unshaken. Regal, composed, she reached for the folds of his black robe. Her hands, deft and reverent, undid the clasps and ties with practiced ease.
The heavy garment slipped loose from his shoulders, the fabric whispering down his arms before she drew it away. Lamplight spilled across him, catching on the stark whiteness of his skin—pale as moonlit marble, yet not lifeless. His chest rose and fell with a slow, deliberate rhythm, every line of him sculpted lean and spare, as though shadows themselves had carved him.
The ridges of his collarbones cast faint hollows, his sternum sharp, his torso smooth but unsoft, a body honed by something more absolute than mortal flesh. There was nothing warm in it—he was not the gold heat of a sunlit god, but the cold, luminous severity of the night itself made flesh.
Calliope let the robe fall in silence to the marble floor, dark pooling against pale stone. But she did not reach for more. His trousers remained, the dark fabric clinging to long lines of leg and hip, preserving some mystery, some restraint.
“As is fitting,” Calliope murmured, her eyes lowered, her voice ceremonial. “You stand unveiled before her, as she stands unveiled before you.”
He did not move, but the weight of his gaze pressed harder against you, searing and inescapable. Pale fire burned in his eyes, and though his chest was bare, it was not vulnerability you saw—but inevitability.
***
After what felt like eternity, he stepped closer, closing the space between you until the scent of incense was drowned by the cool, unreal presence of him. His hand rose once more, fingers brushing along your bare arm, up to the curve of your shoulder. The touch was light—no more than a whisper of contact—yet it set every nerve alight, your body betraying you with a sharp shiver.
He stilled, watching, measuring the tremor that rippled through you as though it were a response he had expected, perhaps even required. His thumb traced a slow line over your skin, not soothing but claiming, as if each quiver was proof you belonged to him.
Your lips parted, but no words came. Only breath, shallow and uneven.
“Lay down.”
The command rolled from him, low and absolute, a decree carved into the silence. Not loud. Not harsh. But unarguable.
Your knees weakened further, and for a moment you thought you might collapse beneath the weight of it. Then, trembling, you turned toward the bed. The sheets gleamed faintly in the lamplight, the surface cool and untouched, waiting.
Behind you, Calliope moved ahead, settling herself gracefully at the bedside. Her presence was unshaken, composed, as though she had always belonged to this ritual.
You lowered yourself onto the bed, every movement hesitant, stiff with nerves. The linen met your skin with a chill that only heightened your awareness of how exposed you were.
Your knees bent instinctively as you settled back, legs drawing together in a feeble shield. Heat burned through your cheeks, your face flushed with the weight of his gaze.
Calliope’s hand stroked gently through your hair, soothing, grounding, her voice low at your ear. “Breathe.”
Above you, he moved closer, shadow spilling over you like a tide. His eyes lingered on your folded legs, on the instinctive resistance you could not hide.
“Do not hide yourself from me,” he said, his voice a dark rumble that reverberated through the chamber. “You offered. You yielded. Now obey.”
The words struck as much as commanded—stone carved into flesh.
You hesitated, your thighs pressing tighter for a moment, trembling under the weight of his stillness. His hand descended then, pale fingers resting with measured patience against your knee. Not forcing. Not yet. But waiting.
“Open,” he said, quieter this time, but the softness carried no mercy. It was inevitability spoken aloud. “Let me see what is mine by your vow.”
Your thighs trembled, pressing tight one last time, before at last you obeyed. Slowly, nervously, you let your knees drift apart. The cool air swept between them, sharp against heat you had never before laid bare.
His hand moved with you, guiding, insisting on more until your legs parted enough for his gaze to claim what you could not hide.
He exhaled then, though it was not like any mortal sound—it was darker, deeper, as though night itself had stirred. Pale fire burned in his eyes, consuming, inevitable.
“Never close yourself to me again,” he said, his voice low, resonant, unarguable. “Not in body. Not in will. What you have yielded is mine, and mine it shall remain.”
The words bound around you like chains wrought of shadow, not cruel but unbreakable, a vow carved into the silence.
Calliope’s hand stroked slowly through your hair, her voice soft but certain. “Answer him.”
Your lips parted, trembling, your breath shuddering in your chest. You could not escape the pale fire of his eyes, nor the inevitability of his hand upon you.
His gaze held you, pale and merciless, his hand steady at your knee. Calliope’s fingers smoothed through your hair, coaxing you as though she were guiding a frightened child into reciting their first verse.
“Answer him,” she whispered again.
Your breath shuddered free. “I… I will not close myself to you, my lord. I am yours,” The vow left you in fragments, fragile as glass, yet once spoken, it rang through the chamber as though it had been carved into stone.
The faintest shift crossed his expression—neither smile nor softness, but the recognition of a truth claimed. His thumb traced once along the inside of your knee, cool and deliberate.
His thumb lingered, pale against your trembling skin, tracing slow, deliberate circles as though he were testing the strength of your vow. His eyes, pale fire, never left yours.
“You have never laid with men before,” he said, not as question but as statement, carved in stone. “I see it in you. The unmarked fragility. The trembling that is not feigned.”
Your breath caught, shame and heat flooding your face. You could not deny it—not under that gaze, not with Calliope’s steadying hand stroking your hair, coaxing you toward truth.
Your lips parted, the confession spilling out in a whisper: “No, my lord… never.”
He inclined his head a fraction, the smallest acknowledgment, though the weight of it felt monumental.
“Then you will learn only me,” he murmured, his voice low as thunder rolling across a distant sky. “Your body will carry no memory but mine. No touch, no claim, no pleasure, but what I choose to give.”
Shadows stirred at his back, vast and restless, as though they too bore witness to the vow sealed between you.
Calliope’s hand threaded gently through your hair once more. “Do not fear,” she whispered, her tone both soothing and ceremonial. “What is first is sacred.”
Your heart hammered, the weight of his decree thrumming through every trembling inch of you. Calliope’s hand remained in your hair, steady, while his touch shifted—slowly, inevitably—downward.
His fingers slid from your knee along the inside of your thigh, pale fire against burning skin. The motion was deliberate, unhurried, each inch a test of your vow. You flinched at the coldness of him, at the intimacy of it, but his grip was firm, guiding you to remain open.
“Do not close to me,” he said, his voice low, absolute. “You have promised.”
The words bound you as surely as any chain. Your legs trembled, but you did not disobey.
His fingertips reached the tenderest part of you, brushing once, ghost-light, enough to send a gasp bursting from your lips. He stilled at once, watching your reaction with the same scrutiny he had given your vow.
“So untried,” he murmured, almost to himself, though his eyes devoured you. “Every tremor a truth. Every gasp a confession.”
And then, at last, his fingers traced the seam of your sex. You flinched at the intimate touch, your body tensing beneath his hand. But he was patient, persistent, his fingers moving slow and sure to coax your labia open.
He then used two of his fingers to spread your lips, exposing you fully to his gaze and his touch. His touch was feather-light, exploring every inch of you with an intensity that made you squirm.
Your breath caught in your throat as he spread you open, your body betraying you in its trembling surrender. Cool air brushed where no touch had ever reached, and shame mingled with a startling rush of heat as his gaze lowered, pale and merciless.
He studied you as though you were not flesh but scripture—laid bare for him alone to read. His thumb traced delicately along your folds, feather-light, drawing another gasp from your lips. He stilled at once, pale eyes lifting to your face, catching the flush in your cheeks, the shock widening your gaze.
“Untouched indeed,” he murmured, not in doubt but in confirmation. His fingers pressed just slightly, testing, finding no answer but the truth of your innocence. “So unmarked that even the smallest caress unmakes you.”
The words seared through you, branding you as wholly his discovery.
His fingers lingered, stroking lightly, not seeking to soothe but to test how your body yielded, how it quivered beneath him. Every twitch, every sharp breath seemed to please him, though his face remained carved in unreadable severity.
“You are mine to open,” he said, his voice deep and absolute. “Mine to shape, mine to claim. No other shall know this innocence but me. But before I claim what is mine, I will taste you. I will know you upon my tongue, as no other ever shall.”
The words struck through you like a brand—shame, fear, and something deeper twisting inside you. His thumb brushed lightly over the tender flesh he had opened, a fleeting caress that stole the breath from your lungs.
He withdrew his hand then, slowly, deliberately, as though tearing it from your skin was its own form of torment. His gaze never left your face, watching every flicker of dread and longing as he lowered himself toward the place he had bared.
He descended with slow inevitability, every movement deliberate, as though the chamber itself bent to the rhythm of his intent. His pale hands parted your thighs wider, holding you open for him, your body trembling against the cool press of his fingers.
Then his mouth found you.
The first touch of his lips against your most tender flesh stole the breath from your lungs. A gasp tore free, sharp and startled, as heat surged where none had ever touched before. His tongue traced a slow line through your folds, patient, exacting, as if he were tasting not merely your body but the vow you had given.
You writhed faintly under the weight of it, overwhelmed, your hands clenching at the linen beneath you. Shame and need tangled until you could no longer tell them apart.
Above you, Calliope’s hand continued to stroke your hair, her voice soft and steady. “Hush,” she murmured. “Do not fight it. He would not taste what he does not wish to keep.”
His tongue circled, pressed, tested. Each deliberate movement drew another tremor from your body, another confession wrung from your lips in broken gasps. He did not relent. He consumed each sound as though it were his due.
He lingered, tongue stroking with precision, unhurried yet unrelenting. Every motion was deliberate, every flick a test, every slow press a command. You gasped beneath him, hips shifting helplessly, though his hands on your thighs kept you open, pinned, yielding to the rhythm he dictated.
The sounds spilling from you—soft, broken, uncontrollable—seemed to please him. His pale eyes flicked upward briefly, catching your face twisted in shock and need, before lowering again as if your trembling were proof of his mastery.
“So easily undone,” he murmured against you, his breath cool, his words vibrating where his tongue pressed. “Even now, your body begs to be taken.”
The pressure built slowly, inexorably, like a tide rising to drown you. Your breath came fast and shallow, chest heaving, shame burning your cheeks as your thighs quivered violently against the unyielding grip of his hands.
Calliope’s voice was a thread of steadiness beside you, her fingers stroking your hair, calming even as your body writhed. “Do not fight the storm,” she whispered. “Let it break. It is what he seeks.”
His mouth moved with merciless patience, circling, tasting, pressing until every nerve screamed. Your whimpers grew higher, desperate, the coil inside you tightening to the point of pain.
And still he did not stop.
“Yield,” he commanded, voice low, resonant, vibrating through you. “Show me the truth of your surrender.”
The demand shattered the last of your resistance, and with a cry you broke, climax tearing through you in violent waves—your first release, wrung from you by his tongue, claimed as his alone.
The cry echoed off the marble, your body arching helplessly as the shudders tore through you. He did not relent—his tongue drew out every last spasm, drinking down the tremors as though each one were a truth he had demanded. Only when your body fell limp against the sheets, trembling and spent, did he withdraw.
He lifted his head slowly, shadows curling close around him, his pale mouth glistening with the proof of your surrender. His eyes burned with that same merciless fire as he studied your flushed, gasping form.
He rose over you, shadows trailing like a mantle about his shoulders. His mouth, pale and glistening, curved neither in cruelty nor in kindness, but in inevitability. His gaze held you pinned, merciless and consuming.
“Sweet mortal,” he murmured, voice low as the echo of stone on stone. “So untried, and yet you yield like this. The first taste of you is mine… but you will taste it also.”
Your eyes widened, breath faltering, but he gave you no time to protest. His hand caught your jaw, long fingers pressing cool and sure as he bent low. His lips claimed yours, slow and inexorable, parting your mouth beneath his.
The sharp salt-sweet of yourself flooded your tongue, shocking, intimate, inescapable. His kiss was not gentle—demanding, consuming, a binding of his will to yours. He pressed deeper, letting you taste what he had taken, what he had claimed, until you shuddered beneath the weight of it.
When he finally drew back, your lips wet, his thumb brushed along your jaw, smearing the lingering dampness across your skin like a mark.
“Now you know,” he said, pale eyes burning into yours. “What is mine is yours. What is yours… is mine.”
His thumb lingered against your jaw a moment longer before sliding down, tracing the line of your throat, over your racing pulse, until his hand spread across your chest. His gaze never wavered, pale fire fixed on you as though measuring whether you would break before he willed it.
Then his other hand moved lower. Cold fingers brushed between your thighs again, parting you with ease now, finding the slickness he had coaxed from you. A faint hum of satisfaction escaped him, dark and low.
“Yes,” he murmured. “Already open, already softened by what I have taken from you. This is how you are readied for me.”
One finger pressed gently inside, testing your innocence, sliding against resistance. You gasped, your body tensing, but his hand on your chest held you still.
"My lord," you pleaded, your voice barely a whisper, "I-I don't know if I can—"
"You can," he interrupted, his voice a low growl, "and you will. You have yielded yourself to me. Now you must embrace what comes next."
His finger inside you moved, slow and sure, stretching you, preparing you. It felt strange, invasive, but not wholly unwelcome. You bit your lip, trying to stifle the whimper that rose in your throat.
"Shhh," he soothed, his voice like velvet. "Relax and let me in." His voice was a low rumble, a command wrapped in dark velvet. He stroked the inside of your thigh, a soft caress meant to soothe, but it only served to heighten your awareness of his touch, of the invasion of his finger.
You took a deep breath and tried to comply, to let your body yield to his command. His finger slid deeper, the invasion stirring a mix of discomfort and a strange, throbbing heat. You could feel him, so large and unyielding, inside the most intimate part of you. Your breath hitched, a sob caught in your throat.
He stilled, waiting, his gaze never leaving yours.
"That's it," he murmured, his voice a dark purr. "Give in to me. Let me see your surrender."
You took a shaky breath, trying to relax, to yield to his command. His finger moved again, stroking inside you, coaxing you to open further. You gasped as a new sensation washed over you, a deep, aching pressure that was both uncomfortable and electrifying.
Your body trembled around him, the strange fullness of one finger already overwhelming, but his eyes remained fixed on you, pale and merciless. His hand on your chest pressed more firmly, holding you steady against the sheets as though anchoring you to your vow.
“You are opening,” he murmured, voice low, a shadowed purr. “But not enough. You will take more.”
Before you could beg or protest, you felt the press of a second finger against your entrance, cool and insistent. The stretch burned, sharp and unyielding, your breath breaking into a whimper.
“My lord—”
“Hush,” he commanded softly, though his tone left no room for refusal. “Do not fear the ache. It is the shape of your surrender.”
Calliope’s hand threaded once more through your hair, her fingers soothing against your temple. “Relax, sweetheart,” she whispered. “You will not break.”
He pushed slowly, inexorably, until both fingers were inside you. The stretch tore a cry from your lips, sharp and startled, your body clenching tight around him in resistance. The burn was hot, unrelenting—too much, too new—and you felt tears sting your eyes.
A sharper ache bloomed, and with it the warm slip of blood. You gasped, shame flooding you, but his hand on your chest held you firm. He did not relent.
“Yes,” he murmured, his pale gaze fixed on yours, merciless and consuming. “The first wound of your yielding. The blood of your innocence.”
His fingers stilled, giving you a breath, though the weight of them inside you was no less overwhelming. Calliope bent nearer, her voice a steady hush at your ear, her hand combing gently through your hair.
“Do not fear it,” she whispered. “This blood is the seal of your vow.”
He began to move again, slow strokes, deliberate, stretching you further with each pass.
His fingers moved with a slow, merciless rhythm, each thrust drawing a faint burn, each withdrawal leaving you stretched and tender. The wet sound of him inside you was tinged with the faint smear of blood, and still his expression did not waver.
He seemed almost pleased, pale eyes consuming every twitch of your body, every gasp that broke from your lips. His hand on your chest pressed you firmly to the bed, as if to remind you that flight was impossible, that yielding was the only path left to you.
Then the rhythm changed.
Where before he had been steady, testing, now his fingers curled slightly with each stroke, pressing deeper, seeking something inside you that made your hips jolt against your will. The ache remained, but beneath it a new heat flickered—strange, insistent, curling low in your belly.
“That’s it, sweet mortal,” he murmured, watching the way your breath quickened, the way your thighs trembled open for him. “Even through blood, your body learns what it means to answer me.”
You whimpered, half in shame, half in shock at the sharp pleasure cutting through the pain. The sound seemed to please him further—his lips curved faintly, his pale gaze never leaving your face.
Your whimper lingered in the charged air, your body quivering around his fingers as the ache and heat tangled into something you could scarcely endure. His pale eyes devoured every flicker of your face, every tremor of your thighs.
He did not ease his touch. His fingers pressed deeper, curling just so, finding that hidden place inside you again and again until your hips jerked helplessly against his hand. Each stroke was deliberate, merciless, dragging you closer to the edge whether you willed it or not.
The ache still throbbed where you bled, but pleasure rose sharp and insistent beneath it, overwhelming, impossible to fight. Your body clenched around him, tight and trembling, your breath breaking into ragged gasps.
“Yes,” he murmured, his voice low and dark with satisfaction. “Cry for me. Even torn, you answer my hand.”
Your eyes squeezed shut, shame burning through you, but Calliope’s gentle touch smoothed your temple, her whisper coaxing. “Do not hide from it, sweetheart. Let it come. It is his will.”
Another curl of his fingers, sharper, unrelenting—and the coil inside you snapped.
Your cry echoed off the marble, your body convulsing as climax ripped through you, raw and shattering. You clutched at the sheets, at Calliope’s hand, as wave after wave rolled through you, his fingers working mercilessly until every tremor had been wrung from your body.
When at last he stilled, he kept his fingers buried deep, letting you shudder helplessly around them. His pale eyes burned into yours, cold fire carved with triumph.
“Good,” he said softly, though there was no mercy in it.
He withdrew his fingers at last, slow and deliberate, and the emptiness made you gasp. The wet sound of your body releasing him echoed in the hush, the evidence of your surrender glistening on his pale skin—slick, streaked faintly red.
For a heartbeat you thought he might show you, force you to look at what you had given. But instead, to your shock, he lifted his hand toward his own mouth.
His gaze never left yours as he parted his lips and slid his fingers between them, tasting the mingled salt of blood and the sweetness of your climax. His eyelids lowered, his expression one of grim, consuming satisfaction, as though this act were not indulgence but ritual.
“The taste of innocence, broken and remade. Blood, salt, surrender. This is mine,” he murmured when he drew them free, his voice low and roughened.
Your breath faltered, shame and heat crashing through you all at once. You could not look away, even as your face burned, even as your body trembled with aftershocks.
Above you, his fingers brushed your trembling lips, smearing the faint trace of what he had tasted onto your skin. His pale eyes burned with dark inevitability.
“And now you will taste what you have given,” he said.
His fingers hovered before your mouth, slick with your release and faint streaks of blood. You froze, trembling beneath his gaze, but his will left no room for refusal. His thumb brushed your lower lip, smearing the dampness there, and then pressed more firmly.
“Open,” he commanded, voice low, inexorable.
Shame seared through you as your lips parted, and he slid his fingers between them, pressing against your tongue. The taste burst over you—salt, copper, something sweeter beneath—and your whole body shivered at the shock of it.
His pale eyes never left yours. He watched you take it, watched your throat work as you swallowed around the intrusion, watched every flicker of humiliation and heat that crossed your face.
He then drew his fingers slowly from your mouth, leaving your lips wet, your breath shuddering. His thumb traced the smear of dampness across your chin as if marking you anew.
***
After that, he rose fully, shadows trailing from him like a mantle, vast and restless, and for a moment the world seemed to tilt beneath the sheer weight of his presence. His gaze never left you as he brought his hand to his side, dark satisfaction carved in every line of his face.
Both hands went to the belt at his waist. The sound of the buckle loosening cracked through the silence, heavy as a tolling bell. Metal struck against leather, deliberate, unhurried, until the strap slid free.
The chamber seemed to draw tighter around you, as though even the walls strained to bear witness. Calliope’s hand smoothed through your hair again, a steadying rhythm, though her voice was soft and solemn.
“This is the moment,” she whispered. “The vow made flesh.”
Above you, Morpheus’s pale gaze seared into yours as the belt fell away, the dark fabric of his trousers loosening beneath his hand.
The belt slipped free with a low hiss of leather against fabric, the sound cutting through the incense-thick air. He let it fall, forgotten, to the marble floor. The clasp of his trousers yielded next beneath his pale fingers, unhurried, deliberate, as though each movement were part of the rite.
Your breath caught, your pulse hammering against his cool palm where it still pressed lightly at your chest. Calliope’s hand smoothed through your hair again, anchoring you in the moment.
You gasped as the fabric slid lower, his pale hands pushing his trousers down over lean hips. He stepped free of them with slow, deliberate grace, the last barrier falling away. Shadows clung to him for an instant, reluctant to yield him fully to your gaze—then they slipped aside, revealing him in stark inevitability.
Your breath caught hard in your throat.
What he bared was more than you had imagined. He was carved in the same stark lines as the rest of him—cold, severe, perfect—and yet what rose between his thighs seemed impossible. Your body tensed, your pulse hammering against his palm, every nerve whispering the same truth: there was no way you could take him.
Your lips parted, a whisper escaping before you could stop it. “My lord… it will not -” your words broke off.
His gaze seared into yours, merciless, consuming. He lowered one hand to your trembling thigh, fingers cool and inexorable as they pressed you open wider.
“It will,” he said, voice deep as thunder breaking. “You will take me. You will stretch, you will bleed, you will endure. And when it is done, you will belong to me in truth.”
Above you, shadows curled around his pale form as he moved to stand between your open thighs, inevitability looming over your trembling body.
He stepped forward, shadows clinging to his form until he loomed fully between your parted thighs. The cool press of his hand shifted from your chest to your hip, steadying you, pinning you against the bed as though to remind you there could be no retreat.
His other hand curled around himself, pale fingers closing with deliberate slowness. He guided his length downward until the blunt head brushed against the slick, tender entrance he had prepared. The contrast was startling—hard, unyielding, impossibly large against the raw ache that still throbbed within you.
You gasped, your whole body tightening instinctively.
The weight of him pressed insistently at your opening, testing the fragile give of your flesh. The stretch already felt impossible, your body trembling with resistance. Tears stung your eyes, but Calliope’s hand stroked through your hair, her voice steady at your ear.
“Breathe,” she whispered. “Relax and let him in. You were made for this.”
Morpheus’s gaze never left yours as he pressed forward, the first inexorable inch breaching you, burning, filling you with more than you had ever imagined you could take.
“My lord, it hurts…” The plea slipped from your lips, broken and trembling.
He did not falter. His pale eyes burned into yours, steady, consuming, as though pain were part of the vow you had spoken. His hand pressed more firmly at your hip, holding you open beneath him.
“It must,” he answered, his voice low, a rumble like distant thunder. “Through your pain and your surrender, you are made mine.”
Another inch pressed into you, slow but unrelenting. The burn sharpened, tears sliding hot down your temples.
Calliope bent closer, her hand stroking through your hair, her voice soothing though her words were certain. “Endure. The pain is fleeting. What he gives will remake you.”
Morpheus’s hand rose from your hip to your throat, not in cruelty but in command, his long fingers spanning the fragile column, holding your gaze to his.
“Do not turn away from me,” he said, his voice a dark vow. “You will take all of me. You will bleed, you will ache—but you will not break. You were made to endure me.”
And with that, he pressed deeper, forcing your body to yield another inch, the ache blooming sharper, fuller, impossible—yet inescapably his.
You gasped softly, your body straining against the sheets, every nerve alight with the raw burn of being split open. His grip at your hip tightened, keeping you pinned, keeping you from retreat.
He pressed deeper, inexorable, forcing your body to stretch around him. Each inch was a trial, a battle between the searing pain and the merciless inevitability of his claim. You cried out, your hands clutching at the linen beneath you.
Another slow thrust—agonizing, unstoppable—forced you wider, deeper, until your body shook with the effort of holding him.
His pale eyes never left yours, merciless fire pinning you beneath him. “Do not close to me,” he growled softly. “Yield, and let me in.”
And still, he pressed forward, unyielding, until he met the last of your resistance. You whimpered, your body seizing tight around him, every muscle straining against the impossible fullness.
He stilled for only a breath, his pale eyes burning into yours, his hand steady at your throat. His voice was low, inexorable.
“This is the end of what you were,” he murmured. “The last barrier between you and me.”
He held there, still and immense inside you, the weight of him burning against that final resistance. For the first time, his thrust did not come—he lingered, waiting.
“Say it,” he commanded softly, though the severity in his tone carried no mercy. “Say that you would have me claim you entire. That you yield, not in word alone, but in truth.”
Your breath trembled, tears sliding hot down your cheeks. His gaze bound you, demanding, as Calliope’s hand stroked through your hair, grounding you.
“Answer him, sweetheart,” she whispered, voice low and coaxing. “He asks because this cannot be undone. Once you speak, it is forever.”
His thumb pressed gently at the hollow of your throat, reminding you of the power he held, the inevitability of what he asked.
“Do you give me this, sweet mortal?” he murmured, his voice a vow in the silence.
Your throat worked beneath his hand, breath breaking into sobs, but your voice came all the same—fragile, trembling, yet undeniable.
“Yes, my lord…”
Your words hung in the charged air, trembling and small, yet binding as steel. Calliope’s fingers closed more firmly around yours, grounding you, though her gaze did not leave her husband. There was no shock in her eyes—only reverence, and a heat she did not try to hide.
Morpheus’s grip at your hip tightened, his shadowed form bending low until his breath brushed your face. His pale eyes devoured you, merciless fire flaring as though your vow had stoked something darker within him.
“So be it,” he said, his voice deep and resonant, carrying the finality of a sentence passed. “You are mine entire.”
His hand pressed at your throat, steady, commanding your gaze to remain on him. Then, with one brutal thrust, he drove himself through the last of your resistance.
The sharp tear of pain made you cry out, your body clenching tight around him as blood welled hot between your thighs. He did not stop. He held himself buried deep, forcing you to feel the full weight of him inside you, stretched beyond what you thought you could endure.
Calliope’s hand gripped yours tighter, her thumb stroking your trembling knuckles, but her lips parted around a faint gasp—her composure breaking at the sight. Her arousal was written in the flush along her throat, the way her breath quickened as she watched her husband claim you.
Morpheus shifted, his grip on your hip like iron as he pulled back—slowly, deliberately—drawing himself from your torn body. The motion ripped another gasp from your lips, the ache flaring sharp, fresh blood slicking his length as he withdrew.
He stilled just short of leaving you empty, his pale eyes lowering, fixed with unblinking intensity on the place where your body strained to hold him. Shadows coiled around his shoulders, restless, as if drawn by his hunger.
“Look,” he murmured, voice low, reverent and cruel at once. “How your body clings to what breaks it.”
Calliope’s breath hitched beside you and you turned your face toward her, finding her lips parted, her gaze lowered too—to where her husband’s pale body joined with yours.
Morpheus pressed forward again, slow, inexorable, sinking back into you until you cried out. His eyes did not lift; they remained locked on the place of your joining, his jaw taut, his breath shallow with the gravity of it.
He drew back again, achingly slow, your body clutching at him as if it could not bear the emptiness. Blood and wetness slicked his length, glinting faintly in the lamplight. His pale eyes followed every inch of the movement, devouring the sight of you stretched around him.
Then he thrust forward, steady and unhurried, burying himself deep once more. The sound of your body yielding—wet, torn, unwilling yet unresisting—filled the chamber. He exhaled, a dark, low sound that sent a shiver through you.
His rhythm built slowly, a merciless cadence. He withdrew just enough to make you gasp at the loss, then drove back in, deeper, harder, filling you until your cry echoed off the marble. His gaze never left the place of your joining, as though it was the only proof he required that you were his.
The ache still burned, sharp and unrelenting, but with each merciless thrust something new began to stir. A heat coiled low in your belly, faint at first, then stronger, curling tighter with every deep stroke.
Your breath hitched, your cries shifting, no longer only sobs of pain but ragged gasps threaded with something darker. The shame of it seared through you, yet the words broke from your lips before you could stop them.
“My lord… I feel so full… gods, I can’t—”
His pale eyes lifted at once, searing into yours, though his hips never faltered. His hand gripped your hip, grinding him deeper still, filling you to the edge of breaking.
“You can,” he growled, voice a vow cut in stone. “You are stretched, torn, remade for me. That fullness you feel is not your undoing—it is your truth. You were made to hold me.”
Another thrust slammed into you, forcing a sharp cry that slipped into a moan before you could choke it back. Shame burned hot across your face, but your body betrayed you, clutching him tighter, pulsing around his length.
“Yes…” his voice dropped low, dark and consuming, as his gaze fell to where your body wept blood and wetness around him. “Already you begin to answer me. Even through blood, even through tears—you feel pleasure, do you not?”
Another deep thrust tore a gasp from your chest, the ache flaring sharp—yet beneath it, the heat inside you twisted tighter, undeniable now. Your body clenched around him, clinging, as if every sob carried the echo of a moan.
Morpheus’s pale eyes narrowed, fixed not on your face but on the place where your body bled and pulsed around him. His voice dropped, low and merciless.
“Say it.”
Your breath hitched, tears streaking your cheeks. “My lord—”
His thrust was sharper, forcing you open wider, deeper, until your cry echoed off the marble. His hand at your throat pressed just enough to command your gaze back to him.
“Do not hide from me. Speak the truth of your body. Does it not begin to please you?”
Shame seared through you, the words clogging your throat. Calliope’s hand tightened on yours, her whisper soft but coaxing.
“Do not fear it, sweetheart. There is no shame in yielding. He takes nothing he does not mean you to feel.”
Another thrust, slow and grinding, pressed deep into the place that made your hips jolt. A strangled moan broke from you, betraying what you could not speak. His lips curved faintly, a shadow of triumph.
Your lips trembled, heat rising with every thrust until the words tore from you, broken and shamed:
“Y–yes, my lord… I feel it… it pleases me.”
His eyes burned brighter, merciless fire devouring you as he drove into you again, harder, triumphant.
Your confession still trembled in the air when his lips curved faintly, shadow and triumph etched into the line of his mouth. His thrusts deepened, sharper now, as though your words had granted him license to push you further.
Then his hand moved, sliding from your hip down between your trembling thighs. Long fingers found your swollen flesh and pressed against your tender clit. The jolt of sensation tore a startled cry from your throat.
“Your body yields, but it is not enough. You will break open in pleasure, and I will watch you shatter around me.”
His thumb circled, relentless, drawing heat from your most fragile point even as his length thrust deep within you. The contrast was unbearable—the burn of his fullness mingled with the sharp spark of pleasure until your sobs dissolved into ragged gasps.
Another thrust, another merciless stroke of his fingers, and your hips jerked helplessly, your body betraying you as it arched into his touch.
“Feel how you tighten for me. You cannot deny me now—not when your body begs for release.”
His thrusts grew deeper, slower, each one dragging you to the edge, while his fingers worked merciless circles against your clit. The ache of being split open blurred beneath the relentless pressure, replaced by a feverish heat that spread through your trembling body.
You gasped, moaned, sobbed—all tangled into sounds you could not contain. Your thighs quivered, straining against him, yet his hand at your throat and his hips grinding deeper left you helpless, pinned to the sheets.
Your body convulsed, the unbearable fullness of him inside you meeting the sharp, unrelenting torment of his fingers. The pressure coiled tighter and tighter until it broke, flooding you in a white-hot wave.
You cried out, your back arching, your body clenching around him in desperate spasms as climax tore through you.
“My lord—” The words broke free on a sob, your voice ragged, trembling, half a plea, half a prayer.
His pale eyes seared into yours, merciless fire burning with dark triumph. He did not slow, not even as your body quaked around him. Instead, he pressed his thumb harder to your swollen clit, wringing another cry from your lips.
Another deep thrust tore through the aftershocks, his length grinding into your tender core until you moaned again, helpless, your body clinging to him, betraying you with every pulse.
“My sweet mortal,” he murmured, voice low and dark, his thrusts never faltering. His thumb pressed harder, circling your tender flesh until another ragged cry tore from your throat. “So swollen, so sore—and still you clutch at me.”
Your sobs broke into gasps, your hips trembling beneath the relentless rhythm. “I cannot endure, my lord… I cannot—”
His hand at your throat tightened just enough to hold your gaze to his, his pale eyes blazing like cold fire.
“You must,” he growled, his voice thunder threaded with inevitability. “You will endure until I am finished, until I have spilled my seed inside you.”
The ache was unbearable—your flesh raw, your body stretched to its limit—but he gave you no reprieve. His hips ground harder, driving him deeper still, making you feel the full weight of his length.
Calliope’s hand returned to your hair, her voice coaxing though threaded with breathless awe. “Do not fight it, sweetheart. It must be endured.”
Your body quaked beneath him, every thrust grinding you further open, every stroke a battle between unbearable ache and the dark heat that betrayed you.
His pace shifted—deeper, harder, merciless. Shadows writhed across the marble as his form loomed above you, inevitability made flesh. His jaw tightened, his breath roughened, but his eyes—those pale fires—never left yours.
“It is near,” he growled, the words shaking through you as he drove himself into you again and again. “You will take it. You will carry me inside you, as I said. Pain and pleasure—all sealed by my seed.”
His rhythm grew brutal, each thrust shaking the bed, grinding you open until you could only sob and cling to Calliope’s hand. The sound of him inside you—wet, raw, relentless—filled the chamber, echoing against marble and gold.
Shadows lashed the walls as his pace quickened, urgency threading through the inevitability of his movements. His grip at your throat held your gaze, forcing you to see the merciless fire burning in his pale eyes.
Your body shook beneath him, the ache unbearable, the fullness suffocating—but he gave you no reprieve. He drove deeper, faster, grinding into your tender core until the very air seemed to tremble.
His body went taut, every muscle drawn tight above you. One final thrust buried him to the hilt, pinning you down as his release tore through him.
A guttural sound rumbled from his chest, half growl, half vow, as hot seed spilled deep into you. The rush of it burned, filled, overwhelmed, until you whimpered at the impossible fullness. He ground his hips harder, holding himself deep, forcing you to take every drop.
You whimpered beneath him, your body trembling violently, stretched and raw as the hot flood of him poured into you. Each pulse of his release felt endless, filling you past breaking, your womb claimed by the weight of his seed.
His hand at your throat held you steady, his pale eyes fixed on yours as though daring you to look away. Shadows writhed around his shoulders, restless and wild, echoing the force of what he gave you.
“Yes,” he hissed, voice rough, vibrating through your chest. “Every drop inside you, held tight, sealed inside you.”
He ground his hips once more, deep and unyielding, as if to brand the fullness into your body. The sheets beneath you were damp, but he gave no thought to it—only to the heat of you clinging to him, refusing to let him go.
Calliope’s hand stroked your hair, her voice breathless but reverent. “It is done. He has finished in you. You are his, now and forever.”
And still he did not withdraw. He stayed buried, his weight heavy above you, forcing you to feel him softening within, the warmth of his seed spilling deeper until it seemed you could hold no more.
At last, his hips stilled. His body remained heavy above you, every muscle tense as though reluctant to release you. For a moment, there was only the sound of your ragged breaths and the pounding of your heart, echoing against the hush of the chamber.
Then, slowly, inexorably, he drew back.
The withdrawal made you gasp, the stretch flaring sharp all over again as his length slid from your torn flesh. The sudden emptiness was unbearable. Warmth spilled out of you at once—thick, hot, and mingled with the sting of blood—seeping across your thighs and staining the sheets beneath you.
Morpheus’s gaze did not waver from the sight of you undone, his seed spilling freely onto the linen. His hand moved with slow deliberation, long fingers descending between your trembling thighs.
He touched you again—not with gentleness, but with a dark, clinical hunger. Two pale fingers pressed against your swollen folds and parted you, opening you to his gaze.
You whimpered, your body twitching beneath the intrusion, too sore to bear more. Still, he held you open, his eyes fixed on the wet heat within, gleaming with the mixture of what is your and his seed.
His fingers lingered at your entrance, parting you wider despite your whimpering tremors. The mess clung thick to his pale skin, and with deliberate slowness he drew his hand back.
He lifted his fingers before his eyes, studying the mingled proof of your surrender as though it were sacred. Shadows curled close around him, restless, as his lips curved faintly—not kind, not cruel, but inevitable.
Then his gaze rose to yours.
“Open,” he commanded, voice low, inexorable.
You shook your head faintly, shame burning hot, but his hand at your throat tightened just enough to remind you there was no refusal. His slick fingers pressed at your lips, smearing the bitter-salt tang across them before slipping inside.
The taste flooded your mouth—copper of blood, salt of seed, the rawness of yourself. You whimpered, your body jerking beneath him, but his pale eyes pinned you, merciless fire demanding your submission.
His gaze never left you. Pale, merciless fire burned in his eyes, watching every tremor, every gag, every sob muffled around his hand.
“You drink what I spilled in you. You taste the seal of my vow. You are marked in every way, within and without.”
When he drew his fingers free at last, they left your lips wet, streaked with the mingled proof of his claim. His thumb traced the dampness across your chin as though to brand you further, his pale eyes never leaving your face.
Beside you, Calliope’s voice broke the silence—soft, reverent, trembling with awe.
“Shall I clean her, my love?”
Her fingers stroked lightly through your hair as she spoke, but her gaze remained fixed on him, awaiting his decree.
Morpheus looked down at you, his expression carved from shadow and fire. For a long moment he did not answer, his eyes lingering on the seed that seeped between your thighs, staining the linen. Then, slowly, his head inclined.
“Yes,” he said at last, his voice deep and inexorable. “But not all. Let her body remember. Let her carry the mark of what was done.”
Calliope bowed her head in solemn obedience. She reached for the basin and cloth waiting at the bedside, dipping the linen into cool water before wringing it out.
Calliope’s hands were careful, reverent, though even her gentleness could not keep you from flinching beneath the cool cloth. She wiped away the worst of the mess—blood streaking your thighs, the spill that had escaped him—yet she obeyed his command, leaving enough that the ache and stain remained.
When at last she drew back, laying the cloth aside, Morpheus’s pale eyes devoured you. Shadows coiled close around him, restless, as though echoing the weight of his words.
“You bleed for me. You carry my seed within you. You have tasted yourself as I have tasted you. There is nothing of you untouched, unclaimed. You are mine entire.”
Your throat worked, dry and trembling, but the question broke free before you could silence it.
“Did I… please you, my lord?”
For the first time, the fire in his gaze flickered—not softening, but sharpening, as if the answer mattered more than you could know. He leaned closer, his hand spanning your throat, thumb grazing the dampness he had left on your chin.
“Yes,” he said, his voice a low, resonant growl. “You pleased me greatly. And if you permit,” he murmured, his voice low, inevitable as nightfall, “I will have you again once you have healed.”
