The first year it was great, they had so much fun, but one year ago, Sara started going steady with one man, Nacho. What started as casual lovers relationship morphed into something else, from dating to main sexual partner, to sexual exclusivity, while Charly got relegated to a cuckold role. The story starts with Sara starting to feel the craving to become a mother. But she's torn about who should be the father.

Chapter 10: Reclaiming Through Rough Love

The key turned in the lock with a sound like a bone cracking. Sara pushed into the apartment, the door thudding shut behind her, sealing her into the silent, waiting stillness. The air here smelled of lemon cleaner and settled dust, not coffee and male musk. It was a museum of their former life.

Charly was on the couch, a book open but unread on his lap. He looked up, and his face, usually so placid, fractured. He saw everything: the wild tangle of her hair, the redness around her eyes, the faint, shadowy beginnings of a bruise on her upper arm where Nacho’s fingers had dug in.

“Jesus, Sara.”

He was on his feet, crossing the room in three strides. His hands came up, hovering, afraid to touch. She broke then. A dry, heaving sob tore from her throat and she fell against him, her face burying in the soft cotton of his shirt. He held her. Just held her. His arms around her were sanctuary and prison all at once.

“He hurt you,” Charly murmured into her hair, his voice thick.

“Not… not really. He just… he lost control. He was furious. After you left.” The words were muffled against his chest.

“Show me.”

Gently, he led her to the edge of the bed, the same bed where they’d dreamed a thousand different futures. He sat her down and went to the bathroom, returning with a warm, damp cloth. He knelt before her, a supplicant. With infinite care, he wiped the smeared mascara from under her eyes. His thumb traced the nascent bruise on her arm. The tenderness was a blade, twisting.

“Tell me,” he said, his voice low. “Tell me what he did.”

So she did. The words spilled out in a chaotic rush—Nacho’s fury, the way he’d pinned her, the cold plaster against her back, the crude, desperate demand. Tell me you need me to breed you. She spared no detail, watching Charly’s face as she spoke. His jaw tightened. A muscle flickered in his temple. But his hands, still holding hers, remained gentle.

“He said that?” Charly asked, the question barely audible.

“Yes.”

“And what did you say?”

“I said nothing. I let him crack. I watched him fall apart.” She looked at their joined hands. “It was horrible. And I caused it.”

Charly was silent for a long moment. Then he released her hands and stood up, pacing the length of the room. The quiet was oppressive, filled with the ghosts of their laughter, their quieter years of her depression, his steadfast presence a bedrock she had come to lean on so heavily she’d almost stopped seeing it.

“He wants to give you what I can’t,” Charly finally said, stopping by the window, his back to her. “Or what I haven’t. A kid. A conventional life. He wants to own that future.”

“It’s not about ownership.”

“Isn’t it?” He turned, and his eyes were blazing with a pain she hadn’t seen since the darkest days of her own despair. “Everything is possession, Sara. We just dress it up in nicer words. Open relationship. Exploration. Freedom.” He spat the last word like a curse. “My freedom was watching the woman I love find pieces of herself in other men. His freedom is trying to take you completely.”

He walked back to her, his movements charged with a new, unsettling energy. The compassionate caregiver was receding, burned away by a raw, confessional jealousy.

“Do you have any idea,” he said, kneeling again, his face level with hers, “what it does to me? To know he was inside you hours ago? To know he fucks you with this… this purpose? That he wants to put a baby in you while I just… keep the home fires burning?”

“Charly, please.”

“No. You told me his details. Now hear mine.” His hands came up to cradle her face, but the grip was firm, demanding. “I sit here. I imagine it. I imagine his hands on you, his mouth on you, his cock stretching you open. And it breaks me. And it fucking turns me on. Because it’s you. It’s always you. Every version of you. The one he gets, the one I get, the one that’s slipping away from me.”

His words were a lightning strike, electrifying the damp, guilty space between them. Sara felt a corresponding jolt low in her belly, a traitorous heat that had nothing to do with affection and everything to do with a truth so ugly it was beautiful.

He saw it. He always saw her. His mouth crashed down on hers. It wasn’t the gentle kiss of a healer. It was a claiming, bruising and desperate, all tongue and teeth and the salt of shared tears. She kissed him back with equal ferocity, her fingers twisting in his hair, pulling him closer. This was no memory of their placid past. This was the collision of a decade of suppressed need.

They tore at each other’s clothes. Buttons pinged across the floor. Her skirt was shoved up, his jeans yanked down. There was no finesse, no slow burn. It was a raw convergence.

Charly pushed her back onto the bed, her bare shoulders scraping against the duvet. He looked down at her, his eyes dark. “You want a family?” he growled, his voice ragged. “You want to be bred?”

She gasped, arching her back. “Charly…”

“Say it. You told him no. Tell me what you want.”

It was the permission, the vileness of it, that unlocked her. “I want…” she panted, “I want to be filled up. I want… fuck, I don’t know whose. I just want it to take.”

With a groan that was pure agony, he drove into her. She was slick, ready—the aftermath of terror and confession had left her body humming. He fit her perfectly, a familiar shape, but the rhythm was foreign, brutal, and consumed by a new hunger.

He fucked her with a possessive fury she never knew he possessed. Each deep, pounding thrust was a wordless argument against Nacho, against time, against the slow drift of their lives. His hands gripped her hips hard enough to leave marks, holding her in place as he plundered her.

“This is mine,” he grunted, sweat dripping from his brow onto her chest. “This cunt is mine. You let him use it, but it’s mine. You come on my cock, Sara. You come knowing it’s me ruining you for him.”

The crude language, so alien from his usual softness, detonated inside her. Her climax ripped through her with shocking violence, a silent scream tearing her mouth open as her body clamped around him, milking him desperately. The intensity of it was blinding, a white-hot seizure of pleasure and catharsis.

Feeling her convulse around him shattered his own control. He buried his face in her neck, his thrusts becoming shallow, frantic jerks. “Oh god, Sara… fuck…” His release was a hot, flooding pulse inside her, and he held himself deep, as if trying to imprint himself into her very marrow.

They collapsed, a tangled, sweating heap of shuddering limbs and ragged breath. The room slowly came back into focus—the familiar cracks in the ceiling, the soft glow of the streetlight through the blinds.

A long time later, Charly shifted, sliding out of her but pulling her tightly against his chest. His voice, when it came, was hoarse and small against her ear.

“We could do it differently,” he whispered.

“What?” she murmured, drifting on a spent, empty tide.

“A family. We could… we could choose someone. Not him. Someone… anonymous. A donor. Or not so anonymous. Someone we pick together.” He swallowed hard. “It could be ours. Our choice. Our project. Not his conquest.”

Sara lay still, feeling the faint, phantom pulse of him inside her. The idea unspooled in the dark, monstrous and strangely serene. Not a man claiming her, but a process. A shared endeavor. A way to reclaim the narrative from both Nacho’s aggression and their own passive decay.

She didn’t answer. She just turned in his arms and kissed his shoulder, a seal on the terrible, silent pact. The path ahead was murky and fraught, but for the first time in years, they were looking in the same direction, hand in bloody hand.
