Chapter 1: The Sorority Bedroom
The bass from downstairs was a dull, throbbing ache in the floorboards. Mona pressed her cheek into the cool, rumpled duvet and sighed. The room swam—a soft, lavender-scented blur of twilight and the golden halo from a single lamp. Empty plastic cups and champagne flutes littered the bedside table, their reflections winking at her from the dark wood.
Too much wine. Always too much wine. It seemed to happen at every Sigma party, this quiet theft of her balance, leaving her loose-limbed and fuzzy at the edges. Her yellow dress had ridden up, the cotton soft against her stomach, but the backs of her thighs were exposed to the cool air. She didn’t have the energy to pull it down.
The door to the attached bathroom clicked open.
Footsteps, quiet on the carpet. Mona didn’t open her eyes. She hoped it was Chloe, coming to check on her, maybe with a glass of water.
“There you are.”
It wasn’t Chloe. The voice was lower, smoother. A familiar curl of warmth traced Mona’s spine.
She forced her eyes open, blurry vision settling on Ashleigh leaning against the doorframe. Ashleigh had changed out of her party clothes into just a thin white tank top and shorts, her short black hair damp at the ends. Her sharp green eyes were fixed on Mona, a slow, knowing smile playing on her lips.
“Hiding?” Ashleigh asked, pushing off the frame.
“Dying, I think.” Mona’s words came out slurred. She tried to sit up, but the room tilted. “Just needed a minute.”
“You’ve had more than a minute.” Ashleigh moved to the bed, her movements fluid and unhurried. She didn’t sit so much as settle, the mattress dipping beside Mona’s hip. “The party’s getting loud. This is better.”
Mona hummed in agreement, closing her eyes again. The music downstairs faded into a distant pulse. All she could feel was the weight of Ashleigh’s gaze and the strange, heavy silence of the bedroom.
Then, a touch. Fingertips, cool and dry, brushing a strand of hair from Mona’s damp forehead.
Mona went perfectly still.
The fingers didn’t retreat. They traced the line of her temple, down the curve of her flushed cheek. It was so deliberate, so patient, that Mona’s breath hitched in her throat. Her heart, which had been languidly thumping, kicked into a quicker rhythm.
“You always get so flushed,” Ashleigh murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. Her thumb stroked the apple of Mona’s cheek. “Like you’re burning up from the inside.”
“I’m just warm,” Mona managed to whisper, her eyes still shut. A feeble protest.
“Yeah.” Ashleigh’s hand drifted lower, skating along the line of Mona’s jaw, down the sensitive column of her throat. Everywhere she touched, a trail of sparks seemed to linger. “You are.”
The touch paused at the collar of Mona’s dress, where the first button was undone. Mona held her breath. This wasn’t happening. This was the wine, making her imagine things. Ashleigh was just being… friendly. Comforting.
But friends didn’t touch like this. Friends didn’t let their fingers slip beneath the thin cotton fabric to brush the hollow of her collarbone with such focused intensity. Ashleigh's fingers caress her collar bones and just under her dress.
“Ashleigh…” Mona’s voice was a weak thread of sound.
“Shhh.” The pad of Ashleigh’s thumb swept over her skin, a quieting motion. “Just breathing, right? That’s all. Just seeing how warm you are.”
Her hand continued its slow descent, over the rise of Mona’s breast, covered by dress and plain cotton bra. Mona tensed, a small, involuntary jerk. Ashleigh’s hand stilled, applying the faintest, most maddening pressure. She massaged / caressed her whole upper torso, not focused on the breasts but no ignoring them either. Mona's nipples hardened visibly - but Ash merely continued the massage / caress as before and her hand swept over the pebbles as part of that.
“Easy,” Ashleigh breathed. Her other hand came up to cup Mona’s face, gently turning it toward her. Mona’s eyes fluttered open. Ashleigh’s gaze was dark, intent, her teasing smile gone, replaced by something more absorbed. “Relax”
“I'm not…”
“I know.” Ashleigh leaned in closer. Mona could smell her clean, soapy skin, could see the faint freckle beside her eye. “That’s why we’re just breathing. Just feeling.”
Her exploring hand continued as before as Mona closed her eyes and lay on her back letting it happen, what ever it wa. Ash's other hand now joined her first hand caressing the reclined girls torso fully , softly, have massage half caress. Slowly the other hand moved south, finally skimming over Mona’s ribs, her soft stomach, coming to rest at the bunched hem of the yellow dress. Her fingers played at the edge, tracing the border between cotton and skin. Mona's eyes were fluttering as Ash dragged her yellow dress higher exposing some flesh above her panties. No words now , Ash's fingers moved easily between caressing her inner thighs and stroking her taut stomach.
Mona was melting. The last of the wine’s haze was burned away by a new, terrifying clarity. Every nerve ending was focused on that point of contact, on the casual brush of Ashleigh’s fingers against the inside of her thigh. She was split in two—one part screaming that this was too fast, too much, a line she hadn’t known she was approaching. The other part was arching, silently begging for that touch to continue, to wander, to claim. Ash's hands slide an inch inside her panties, through the soft curls, gently caressing - no more and no lower. Just minute after minute of gentle caress along her abdomen and downy curls.
Mona’s lips parted. No sound came out. She was drowning in the golden light, in the lavender air, in the absolute certainty of Ashleigh’s control. Her forearm went up to cover her arms..shutting off sight so she could simply feel the sensations.
Ashleigh’s smile returned, softer now. Her hand slid under the fabric, her palm flat and warm against Mona’s stomach. Mona gasped. The touch was electric, overwhelming in its simplicity. Ashleigh watched her face, reading every flicker of hesitation, every surge of need.
Her fingers began to move, tracing slow, concentric circles on Mona’s skin, dipping lower with each pass.
Mona’s body opened in her darkness just relaxed into the caresses.
Ashleigh saw it. Her green eyes flashed with quiet triumph. She leaned down, her mouth hovering a breath away from Mona’s.
Next pass Ash's fingers grazed Mona's core... she was dripping wet. It was a fleeting touch. Next pass a little lower, a little longer and a gentle caress of her clit too. A soft gasp seeps from Mona and Ash no begins to circle her clit and running her fingers along the soaking folds..she was seeping her essence onto Ash's fingers
