Chapter 1: The Boundary-Pushing Session
The antiseptic smell of the clinic was supposed to be clean, but to me it just smelled like failure. I lay on the crinkly paper of the treatment table, staring at a water stain on the ceiling tile, my left hamstring feeling like a knotted, burning rope. I’d pulled it six days ago going too heavy on deadlifts, a stupid, prideful mistake. Now I was at the mercy of Stu.
“Deep breath, Max,” Stu said, his voice calm and infuriatingly pleasant.
His hands were already on me, working the tight tissue of my upper thigh with a firm, knowing pressure. He was a good physio; I knew that. Half the guys at Iron Temple swore by him. But knowing him from the gym—spotting each other, sharing the occasional protein bar—made this different. More exposed.
“Fuck, that’s the spot,” I gritted out, my fists clenching at my sides.
“Told you it was high up. The referral pain makes it feel lower.” His fingers dug in, a sharp, bright agony that promised relief. He was close, his forearm brushing against my hip, his focus absolute. I could smell his deodorant, something woodsy and clean, cutting through the clinic sterility.
The pain began to morph, shifting from a sharp sting to a deep, unlocking ache. His thumbs circled the insertion point near my sit bone, and a involuntary groan rattled out of me.
“Good,” he murmured, more to himself than to me. “Let it go.”
He worked in silence for a few minutes, just the hum of the hydroculator in the corner and the sound of my own breathing. I tried to focus on the stain, to think about my training schedule, anything but the fact that Stu’s hands were all over my leg, his touch both clinical and strangely intimate.
“Okay, turn onto your side for me,” he said, stepping back and wiping his hands on a towel.
I shifted, the paper tearing loudly beneath me. I faced the wall of anatomy charts, my back to him. This was worse. I felt his weight dip the table as he sat on the edge near my hip.
“I need to get deeper into the belly of the muscle,” he explained, his voice closer now, right by my ear. His hand landed on the curve of my ass, just a firm, professional hold to position me. A spark of something entirely non-professional shot down my spine.
His other hand went back to work on my hamstring, his fingers probing, pressing. Every press sent a jolt through me. My body was betraying me, the line between pain and a different kind of intensity blurring with each practiced knead. I was wound tight, every nerve ending on alert.
“You’re holding a lot of tension everywhere, man. Not just the hamstring.” His hand on my ass shifted, the heel of his palm pressing into the meat of my glute. “Your glutes are locked up too. They’re connected. Gotta release it all.”
“Just fix the leg, Stu,” I said, but my voice was tight.
“I am,” he said, and I could hear the smile in it. That amused glint translated into tone. His fingers worked higher, edging dangerously close to the crease of my thigh. A flush of heat spread under my skin. I was hard. Fucking hell, I was getting hard lying on a physio table.
I tried to will it away, to think of anything else. Cold showers. Tax forms. It was useless. His touch was the only reality. The pain was gone, completely replaced by a throbbing, low ache of a different origin.
His hand slid, deliberate and slow, from my ass down the back of my thigh. His fingertips brushed, just for a millisecond, against the tight fabric of my shorts where my erection strained against my thigh. It wasn’t an accident. The touch was too slow, too feather-light.
A bolt of pure, electric lust slammed into me.
I sucked in a breath. He didn’t move his hand away. He left it there, his knuckles resting against the heated fabric, his fingers still on my hamstring.
“The pain’s lower, Max,” he murmured, his lips so close to my ear I felt the warmth of his breath. “Trust me. I know what I’m feeling.”
His hand moved again. This time, his palm cupped me fully, a rough, perfect pressure over my cock. A ragged sound escaped my throat, part shock, part surrender. I didn’t push him away. My hips gave a tiny, involuntary jerk up into his hand.
“There it is,” he whispered, a dark, satisfied sound.
His fingers curled, squeezing me through the fabric. It was obscene. It was the most direct, purposeful touch I’d ever felt. Professionalism evaporated, leaving only this raw, pounding need. He rubbed me, a slow, grinding stroke that had me seeing stars behind my eyelids.
“Fuck,” I breathed, the word ripped from me.
“That’s the idea,” Stu said, his other hand leaving my leg to slide around my hip, his fingers hooking into the waistband of my shorts and underwear. In one smooth, ruthless motion, he yanked them down to my mid-thigh.
The cold air hit my exposed skin, followed an instant later by the scorching heat of his bare hand. He spit into his palm, the sound crude and explicit, and then his slick, tight fist wrapped around my cock.
“Christ,” I choked out, my head dropping forward. His grip was perfect, firm, knowing exactly how to work me. He stroked me, base to tip, his thumb smearing the moisture already beading at the head. This wasn’t a handjob. It was a claim. Every pull of his hand was a statement, a fuck-you to my straight identity, to my discipline, to everything I thought I knew.
“You’ve been thinking about this,” he said, not asking. His breath was hot on my neck. “Haven’t you? Lying here, tense as fuck, pretending you don’t feel it.”
I couldn’t answer. My world had narrowed to the rhythm of his fist, the rough catch of his skin, the dizzying scent of him and antiseptic. My own hips were moving now, fucking up into his grip, chasing the climax that was coiling impossibly fast in my gut. This was wrong. This was so goddamn wrong. And I’d never wanted anything more.
“Gonna come,” I grunted, a warning, a plea.
“Yeah you are,” he growled. His hand moved faster, his other arm wrapping across my chest, pinning me back against him. He held me tight, working me over with a relentless, filthy efficiency. “Come on. Let it go.”
It erupted from me with a force that shuddered through my entire body. A raw, guttural shout tore from my lungs as I came, stripes of white painting the white wall and the anatomy charts. He worked me through it, milking every last pulse until I was spent, shaking, collapsing back against him.
For a long moment, there was only the sound of our breathing, harsh in the quiet room. Slowly, he let me go. He stood, and I heard the tear of paper towel, the sound of him cleaning his hands.
I lay there, exposed, my shorts around my thighs, my mind a white-hot blank. I didn’t move. I couldn’t.
“Glute and hamstring tension looks much better,” Stu said, his voice back to its normal, casual gym-buddy tone. As if he hadn’t just blown my fucking life apart. “We’ll do some active release next time. Ice it tonight.”
I pulled my shorts up, the movement robotic. I swung my legs off the table, avoiding his eyes. My body felt liquid, used. My cock, already softening, ached.
“Same time Thursday?” he asked, scribbling something on my chart.
I just nodded, standing on legs that didn’t quite feel like my own. I walked out of the treatment room, through the sterile waiting area, and out into the blinding afternoon sun. My skin felt hypersensitive, every brush of my clothes a reminder. The smell of him was still on me, under the antiseptic.
I got into my car and sat there, hands on the wheel, not turning the key. The quiet hum of the parking garage pressed in on me. All I could see was the water stain on the ceiling tile. All I could feel was the ghost of his hand, the exact pressure of his grip.
I started the car. The engine roared to life, a familiar, comforting sound. But it didn’t touch the silence inside me. I drove home, the throb in my hamstring completely gone, replaced by a deeper, more unsettling ache. I had no idea what Thursday would bring. I only knew I’d be there.
