Chapter 1: Introduction

The sun began to set, casting a golden hue upon the quaint farmland that stretched out as far as the eye could see. Garr, the friendly minotaur farmer, had been basking in the warmth of the sun after he had finished his work in the fields. He lay in the grass. His massive, burly body was adorned with a layer of thick, brown fur that glistened under the rays of the sun contrasting with the thick denim of his overalls. he stirred, and sat up from the long dry grass. It would be getting late soon.

Garr knew that he still had some chores to do before calling it a day. As he stood up, stretching his mighty arms above his head, the muscles rippling beneath his fur, he scanned the horizon. A small, weathered barn caught his attention. He wasn't sure if he'd ever been in there before.

"Hmm, might be a good place to store some old furniture", he thought to himself as he approached.

The smell of the barn wafted around him, a combination of mustiness and dampness. The wooden boards the made up the walls were cracked and warping. Garr hesitated for a moment, thinking twice about going inside. But curiosity got the better of him. He pushed open the creaking door, sending a cloud of dust swirling upwards.

As he stepped inside, the darkness enveloped him. he found an old lantern hanging on a hook, and lit it with the matches from his pocket.

The dim light illuminated the vast space within the barn, revealing mountains of dusty old machinery, cobwebs dangling from the rafters, and shadows dancing on the walls. Garr felt a sense of wonder, his heart pounding with excitement.

He moved through the cavernous space, carefully navigating over piles of junk and broken machinery. He held the flickering lantern high, the weak light illuminating the grimy floor beneath his hooves. He looked around, marveling at the strange contraptions littering the room. Most appeared to be quite old, remnants of a time long past. Some of them were rusted beyond recognition, yet others seemed to retain their original shape and form. He couldn't help but feel curious about these mysterious objects.

As he turned he noticed a very large object, hidden away behind a dusty dropsheet.

It loomed out of the gloom like a monstrous beast, almost as tall as the ceiling itself. It consisted of a large container, easily big enough for Garr to enter. small dusty glass pane let him see back into the barn. It had many series of interlocking gears and pulleys, gleaming brass fixtures attached to heavy chains, and complex networks of tubes and valves. At the top of it all was a large engine , dusty and dormant. The scent of oil and grease hung heavily in the air.

"What in tarnation is this thing?" Garr muttered, stepping closer.

"I wonder what this thing does?"

His voice echoed through the cavernous barn, causing a pang of fear to shoot down his spine. He shook the feeling off, swallowed hard, and reached out to touch one of the cool steel pipes. It was cold and dusty. his fingers slid down to an old panel, with what appeared to be old buttons and circuitry. One button read. "Start Diesel Generator", the rest didn't really make sense to him.

He decided to press the button just to see what would happen. As he did so, the engine sprung to life, roaring loudly as it spun up. The entire machine started to vibrate, causing the surrounding dust to dance in the air. Garr took a step back, his eyes wide with amazement. What was this incredible contraption?

"Hello! Is anyone there?" he called out, peering into the dark chamber beyond the clear window. He couldn't see anything but shadows moving around inside. Suddenly, a low humming sound filled the air, growing louder and more intense.

Garr watched in awe as the machine began to whir to life. He felt a strange sensation wash over him, a primal urge to investigate further. Unaware of the consequences, he pressed another button on the control panel. Instantly, the hum changed, becoming a deep, rhythmic thrumming.

"What am I doing?" he murmured under his breath.

The doors to the body of the machine swung open noisily.

Garr cautiously took a few steps toward the entrance, his heart racing with anticipation. He gingerly stepped inside, the scent of lubricants greeting him. A dim light flickered on, revealing a sophisticated series of mechanical devices Garr gasped softly, staring at the intricate mechanisms.

"Subject found," said a mechanical voice, startling Garr.

"Whoa! Who's there?" he exclaimed, turning around to find the source of the voice. It seemed to come from the very walls themselves.

The air pulsed with the metallic voice, speaking in measured and precise tones.

"Identification impossible. Assuming Subject New."

Garr froze, his eyes widening as he listened intently to the mechanical voice.

"I don't understand," he finally managed to say, his voice trembling slightly. "Who are you? And why have you brought me here?"

A pause hung in the air, he was surprised when the large steel doors slammed shut behind him.

"Subject: State name for identification "

.

"Ah, um, my name is Garr," he stuttered nervously. "I live and work on the farm nearby." Garr started examining his new prison. He frantically pushed at the strange mechanical walls. He found a dusty, that appeared to have print on it"

"Subject to be known as Subject: Garr. File being made"

Garr dusted off the plate, and in the dark, he could finally make out the writing. In bold, printed letters, the plate read " Industrial Bull Tamer".
