Chapter 2: Moonlit Depth Check
The chirp of crickets was deafening after the slam of the screen door. Mark sat rigid on the picnic bench, the ghost of Ana’s crushing grip still a phantom pressure on his shoulder. Shame warred with a sickening thrill in his gut. He’d just watched a man flung like a ragdoll, and the violence hadn’t repulsed him as it should have. It had thrilled him. Protected. Owned. Ana’s final words echoed: "See, Pops? Told you I'd take care of you." Possessive. Terrifying. Electric.
Sarah stood frozen near him, her face pale, eyes wide with a mixture of residual fear and dawning horror as she stared at the spot where the intruder had disappeared into the scrub pines. The trembling in her hands had returned full force. "Mark," she whispered, her voice thin, "did you see…? She just… she just…"
"I saw," Mark rasped, finally finding his voice. It felt raw. He couldn’t look at her. His gaze was fixed on the dark rectangle of the garage door where Ana had vanished after her display. The air felt thick, charged with the aftermath of violence and Ana’s lingering, overwhelming presence. "He was trespassing."
"She could have killed him!" Sarah hissed, finding a spark of anger amidst the shock. "She just launched him! Like he was nothing! And that… that look she gave you…" Sarah trailed off, her eyes searching Mark’s face, looking for outrage, for solidarity against this impossible force that had invaded their quiet lakeside life. She found only confusion, exhaustion, and something else… a flicker she couldn't name but that chilled her more than the violence. "Mark?"
He flinched, finally meeting her eyes. The guilt was a physical weight. "She dealt with it," he muttered lamely, the echo of Ana’s possessiveness twisting the words into a kind of betrayal. He pushed himself up from the bench, his legs unsteady. "I need… I need air. A walk." He couldn’t bear Sarah’s probing gaze, the questions he had no answers for, the shame of his own helpless fascination.
He didn’t wait for a reply. He just walked, stumbling slightly on the uneven flagstones, heading not towards the woods behind the cabin, but towards the gravel path that led down to the community lake access. Escape. Distance. From Sarah’s wounded confusion. From the shattered remnants of his own certainty. And, perhaps, towards the dark, cool water where the impossible weight of Ana’s presence might feel less suffocating.
The community pool, deserted at midnight, was a vast, silent expanse under the moon. Its turquoise water, unnaturally bright under the security lights, shimmered like spilled mercury. The air hung heavy with the chemical tang of chlorine, overlaid with the damp scent of wet concrete and night-blooming jasmine. The usual daytime clamor of splashing children and shouted conversations was replaced by the low hum of the filtration system and the persistent thrum of crickets from the surrounding woods. Peaceful. Ominous.
Mark sat slumped on a plastic lounger near the deep end, nursing a lukewarm beer he’d pulled from the cooler by the lifeguard stand. He hadn’t found solace. The quiet only amplified the turmoil inside him. The image of Ana, impossibly powerful, effortlessly violent, protectively possessive, replayed in his mind on a loop. The feel of her breast pressed against his back, the heat, the sheer mass of her…
He didn't hear her approach. One moment, he was alone, staring blankly at the moon’s distorted reflection on the water’s surface. The next, a towering shadow fell across him, blocking the light. He looked up, his breath catching in his throat.
Ana stood at the pool’s edge, her back to him, gazing out over the water. She was clad only in a simple black one-piece that did nothing to contain the staggering reality of her physique. Moonlight etched the powerful lines of her shoulders and back, each muscle group sharply defined beneath smooth, damp-looking skin. Water droplets still glistened on her colossal calves and the backs of her thighs; she’d already been in.
She was immense. Seven feet of distilled power, silhouetted against the bright blue glow of the pool lights. Her shadow stretched long and intimidating across the concrete deck.
Without turning, she spoke, her voice a low, resonant hum that carried easily in the stillness. "Water's warm. Perfect." She took a single step forward and plunged straight into the deep end.
The splash was surprisingly contained for her size, a powerful displacement that sent ripples radiating across the entire pool. She didn’t surface immediately. Mark strained forward on the lounger, a flicker of irrational concern piercing his numbness. Then, slowly, deliberately, she rose.
Her head and shoulders broke the surface near the center of the deep end. Water streamed down her neck, over the broad, powerful slopes of her shoulders. But she kept rising. Her collarbones emerged, then the top swell of her chest… and kept rising. The water level hit her sternum. Then her diaphragm. She stood fully upright now, her feet planted firmly on the bottom, the water lapping just below the incredible swell of her pectorals. Her L-cup breasts, barely contained by the wet black fabric, rose like islands above the waterline, glistening under the artificial lights.
Mark stared, transfixed. The Olympic-sized pool, deep enough to swallow a man over six feet, barely reached her mid-torso. She looked like a goddess rising from some ancient sea, her size making the vast pool seem suddenly, absurdly shallow. A human depth gauge, casually demonstrating her own impossible scale.
Ana tilted her head back, letting the water slick her dark hair away from her face. A slow, satisfied smile curved her lips as she surveyed the puny pool from her commanding height. She took a few steps, water swirling around her waist, the movement effortless, showcasing the power in her submerged legs. She stopped directly in front of Mark’s lounger at the deep end edge, looking down at him. Water streamed down her neck and over the breathtaking topography of her chest. Her eyes, dark pits in the moonlit shadows of her face, held his.
"Come on in, Pops," she invited, her voice a liquid purr. "Water's fine." She extended a hand towards him, not to help, but as an invitation to touch the impossible. Her forearm, slick with water, looked as thick as his thigh, the bicep swelling beneath the skin. Drops fell from her fingertips onto the deck near his feet.
Mark couldn’t move. Couldn't speak. He was pinned by her presence, by the sheer, undeniable physicality on display. He saw her gaze drift past him, towards the pile of towels Sarah must have left earlier when she’d briefly sunbathed. Ana’s smile widened, predatory and knowing. She took another step closer to the edge, the water now sloshing just above her navel, the incredible curves of her hips and abdomen clearly visible beneath the surface.
Her hand, instead of withdrawing, dipped casually beside the lounger. She hooked one long finger under a scrap of pale blue fabric lying tangled near Mark’s abandoned sandals – Sarah’s bikini top.
Ana lifted it slowly, letting the thin straps dangle from her fingertip. The delicate lace looked like a child’s toy against the massive scale of her hand, utterly insignificant. She brought it up, examining it under the pool lights with an expression of amused disdain. Her gaze flicked back to Mark, then down to the pathetic scrap of fabric.
"Lost something?" she murmured, her voice honeyed silk over steel. She didn't wait for an answer. Her dark eyes locked onto his, holding him captive. "Don't worry, Pops." A slow, deliberate wink. "I'll keep it safe. Right here."
With a gesture that was almost tender, yet vibrated with profound mockery, Ana tucked the pale blue bikini top deep into the impossibly vast canyon of her cleavage. The sheer size differential was obscene. Sarah’s swimwear vanished completely, swallowed whole by the overwhelming swell of Ana’s left breast, nestled securely in the shadowed valley between the monumental curves. The wet black fabric of her own swimsuit stretched taut over the bulge where it now resided.
Ana gave a soft, throaty chuckle, the sound vibrating through the humid night air. The security lights reflected in her dark eyes as she kept her gaze fixed on Mark’s frozen face. The water lapped quietly around her imposing waist. The forgotten beer bottle sweated in Mark’s paralyzed hand. The city hummed distantly. Ana stood, a towering, moonlit colossus in the shallow deep end, Sarah’s intimate garment hidden against her skin, a silent, devastating declaration of ownership far more potent than any tossed intruder. The night pressed in, thick with chlorine, jasmine, and the terrifying electricity of her victory.
