Daniel gains the power to steal another man’s physical attributes and skills whenever he ingests their cum.

Chapter 1: Beginning (Misery)

Daniel woke up to the familiar yet inexplicably irritating sound of his alarm clock. He rolled over, sleep still clouding his mind, and pressed the snooze button. Ten minutes, he thought, ten more minutes of blissful unconsciousness before he had to face the world.

But as he lay there, he felt a strange sensation. A warmth spreading through his body, a tingling in his limbs, a vibrant energy that was both exhilarating and disconcerting. He sat up abruptly, the sheets falling to his waist, and looked down at his body.

He blinked, then blinked again.

His eyes felt different, clearer, almost like he could see more than he ever had before. He rubbed them, but the sensation remained. He swung his legs out of bed and stood up, feeling a surprising burst of energy. He looked around his apartment, taking in the dim light filtering through the half-closed blinds, the clutter that seemed to have multiplied overnight, and the strange paraphernalia he'd collected over the years.

He stumbled towards the kitchen, his body moving with a newfound agility. He grabbed a glass from the sink, which was piled high with dishes, and filled it with water from the tap.

He took a swig, his throat suddenly parched. As he set the glass down, he noticed his reflection in the window. He tilted his head, squinting at the image. Something was off. His hair was different, slightly longer, and a new tattoo peeked out from under his t-shirt. He spun around, his heart pounding, and looked at his arms. The tattoo was fresh, raw-looking, but it was definitely not something he remembered getting.

He paced back into his bedroom, his mind racing. Maybe he was dreaming. Maybe he hadn't woken up at all. He pinched himself, hard, and winced.

Definitely awake. He looked at his reflection in the small mirror on his dresser. His eyes were indeed clearer, and he could swear he saw a new fleck of green in his otherwise blue irises. He frowned, tracing the new tattoo on his arm. It was a stylized phoenix, intricate and detailed, unlike anything he'd ever done.

His phone buzzed on the bedside table, startling him. He picked it up, seeing a message from his best friend, Jordan.

**Jordan:** Hey man, you up? I'm outside.

Daniel glanced at the time.

It was barely past eight. Jordan was either very eager to see him or running late for work, which was more likely. He quickly threw on some clothes, his body moving with a fluidity that felt foreign yet exhilarating. He grabbed his phone and headed to the door.

As he opened it, Jordan was already pounding on it, a cup of coffee in one hand and his work bag slung over his shoulder. "Finally," Jordan said, pushing past him into the apartment. "I've been out here for ages."

Daniel raised an eyebrow. "Ages?

It's barely past eight, Jordan," Daniel said, closing the door behind him. He looked at his friend, noting the dark circles under his eyes. "You look like you've been up for hours."

Jordan shrugged, taking a sip of his coffee. "I was up late playing that new game everyone's talking about. Couldn't sleep after." He looked around the apartment, his gaze landing on the mirror in Daniel's bedroom where the new tattoo was visible. "And hey, new ink?"

Daniel's hand went to his arm, touching the tattoo.

"Yeah, I guess I went a bit crazy last night," he said, trying to sound casual. "You know how it is sometimes."

Jordan smirked. "Understatement of the year, my friend. But hey, it looks good. New artist?"

Daniel nodded, not wanting to elaborate on the true origin of the tattoo. "Yeah, someone recommended him to me." He gestured towards the kitchen. "Want some coffee? I could use a cup."

Jordan followed him, setting his bag down on the kitchen table. "Sure, why not.

Black, no sugar, right?" Jordan said, leaning against the counter as Daniel filled the coffee pot with water.

Daniel nodded. "Yep. You know me too well." He turned on the coffee maker and leaned against the counter next to Jordan, crossing his arms. "So, what's new? Besides the game, I mean."

Jordan shrugged. "Not much. Work's been a pain, as usual. Boss is breathing down my neck about some project I've been putting off. You?"

Daniel smiled, trying to act normal despite the strange sensation still pulsing through him. "Same old, same old.

Work's been busy, but nothing I can't handle," Daniel replied, his eyes drifting to the window. The sunlight was now streaming in, highlighting the dust particles swirling in the air. He squinted, his vision adjusting to the brightness with an unexpected ease.

Jordan took a sip of his coffee and looked at Daniel, his expression sobering. "You know, I've been meaning to talk to you about something. It's been on my mind for a while now."

Daniel raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "Oh yeah?

What's up?" Daniel asked, trying to keep his voice casual. He didn't want Jordan to sense the oddity of the situation. The coffee maker gurgled in the background, filling the apartment with a comforting aroma.

Jordan hesitated, then leaned in a little closer to Daniel. "It's about your... habits, Dan. Or rather, your hobbies."

Daniel's heart skipped a beat. He knew what Jordan was referring to, but he played dumb. "Habits? Hobbies?

Daniel repeated, his mind racing. What did Jordan know? He tried to keep his voice steady. "You mean like tattoo collecting? Or my obsession with obscure documentaries?"

Jordan shook his head. "No, not those. Well, not entirely. It's more about... your encounters."

Daniel's heart pounded in his chest. Encounters? He tried to act nonchalant. "Oh, you mean like how I get into odd situations sometimes? Or how I seem to attract weirdos?"

Jordan rolled his eyes. "Come on, Dan. You know what I mean. It's about your...

peculiar tastes." Jordan's gaze flickered towards the bedroom, where the bed was still rumpled from Daniel's restless night.

Daniel's stomach twisted into knots. He knew exactly what Jordan was alluding to, but he couldn't let him know the truth. He couldn't let anyone know the truth. He forced a laugh, a sound that was meant to be casual but came out strained. "Peculiar tastes? Jordan, you've always been a bit too curious for your own good. What are you talking about?"

Jordan sighed and ran a hand through his hair, leaving it even more disheveled than before.

"Look, Dan, I'm your best friend. I'm just concerned, okay? You've been acting weird lately, and I can't help but notice that you've been... changing. In more ways than one."

Daniel swallowed hard, his mind racing. He knew he had to tread carefully here. He couldn't let Jordan in on his secret, but he also couldn't push him away. He needed to steer the conversation in a different direction, fast.

"Changing? Come on, Jordan, everyone changes. I've just been busy, that's all," Daniel said, trying to keep his voice light.

He knew he had to deflect Jordan's concerns without giving too much away. "Late nights at work, early mornings too. It's been a grind, you know?"

Jordan's expression softened slightly, but he still looked worried. "I get it, Dan, I really do. But it's not just the work. It's... everything else." He gestured vaguely, as if trying to encompass all the unsaid words between them.

Daniel took a deep breath, searching for a way to change the subject. "Hey, how about that new game you were talking about earlier?

The one you've been up all night playing?" Daniel said, trying to shift the focus away from himself. He picked up his coffee mug, using it as a prop to hide his nervousness.

Jordan hesitated for a moment, then nodded, taking the bait. "Right, that game. It's called 'Echoes of Elysium.' It's this massive online multiplayer game with a really interesting backstory. You play as a hero who has to navigate through different realms to save the world from some ancient evil."

Daniel raised an eyebrow, genuinely interested. "Sounds intense.

What's the catch? I mean, besides the usual 'save the world' narrative," Daniel said, taking a sip of his coffee. He welcomed the distraction, the conversation flowed more naturally now.

Jordan leaned back against the counter, his eyes lighting up as he talked about the game. "Well, the catch is that you can't just fight your way through. You have to solve puzzles, interact with NPCs, uncover secrets, all that jazz. And get this, the game adapts to your playstyle. If you're more of a stealth type, it'll become more about evasion and sneaking.
