under endowed man discovers he's a cuckold. He chooses not to confront his wife and becomes obsessed by it.

Chapter 6: Comparative Education

The cold wood of the front door pressed into Arthur’s shoulder blades, a solid reality against the surreal hurricane of his wife. Her kiss had been a violation, a deliberate contamination. The taste of her—mint and something darker, something male and unfamiliar—lingered like a poison on his tongue.

She pulled back, her cruel smirk etched in the foyer’s dim light. That question hung in the air, brittle and sharp.

Arthur couldn’t speak. His jaw worked, but no sound came. He was a frozen statue of shame, his briefcase a forgotten weight at his feet. The image her words painted was not new—he’d seen the grainy, shaky footage on his phone, the proof purchased from a sordid website—but hearing her voice shape it, here in their home, was a different kind of evisceration.

Eleanor watched the play of emotions on his face: the pallor, the sheen of sweat on his upper lip, the way his eyes couldn’t meet hers. She’d expected anger. Tears. A scene. Not this… this swallowing. This awful, silent absorption.

A spark, cold and clinical, ignited behind her eyes.

She turned and walked towards the stairs, her yoga pants whispering against her thighs. “Come upstairs, Arthur.” It wasn’t an invitation. It was a summons.

He followed, his legs mechanical. The grand staircase, usually just a path to bed, felt like a climb to the gallows. The scent of lavender from their bedroom drifted down, a cruel parody of comfort.

In their room, the soft lighting did nothing to soften the moment. Eleanor stood by the four-poster, its silken sheets rumpled from her afternoon nap—or so she’d always claimed. She studied him as he hovered in the doorway.

For years, the frustration had been a quiet, private ache. Arthur was kind, he was stable, he was a good provider. But in bed, he was a whisper where she needed a shout. Careful, apologetic, over in moments. She’d folded the disappointment away, layer after layer, until it was a fossil in her chest. Then Mark, with his easy laugh and his hands that knew exactly how to hold her, had cracked it open. With him, it wasn’t just sex; it was a reclaiming. He filled spaces in her Arthur had never even found.

Arthur’s reaction to her accusation at the door—the lack of denial, the haunted fascination—it should have confused her. It had, at first. But last week, browsing online in a private tab, she’d fallen down a rabbit hole. Forums. Stories. The psychology of it. The word: cuckold. It wasn’t just about betrayal. It was a… dynamic. A fetish woven from humiliation and devotion. She read accounts, heart pounding with a strange, illicit thrill. The husbands who watched. Who listened. Who cleaned up.

She looked at Arthur now, really looked. His posture, slumped in defeat. The flicker in his eyes when she’d mentioned Mark’s depth. It wasn’t just pain. There was a hunger there, too. A sick, shameful curiosity.

It repulsed her. It electrified her.

Here was a man who couldn’t fuck her properly, but who might get off on the knowledge that another man could. The symmetry was perverse, and it opened a door in her mind. Why choose? Why not have the stability and the passion, and twist them into something that served her completely? Arthur’s weakness wasn’t an ending. It was a new beginning. A key.

“You’re not even going to deny it?” she said, her voice cool. She perched on the edge of the bed, crossing her legs. “That I fucked Mark. Today. In our living room.”

Arthur flinched as if struck. His voice was a dry rasp. “What… what do you want me to say, Ellie?”

“I want you to tell me what you want,” she said, leaning forward. The casual cruelty was a mask, a test. “I saw your face downstairs. You’re horrified. But you’re also… interested. Aren’t you?”

He shook his head, a weak, automatic refusal that convinced neither of them.

Eleanor stood and closed the distance between them. She didn’t touch him. She just let her presence envelop him, the scent of her skin, still subtly carrying the musk of another man’s sweat. “All those years,” she murmured, more to herself than to him. “Me faking it. You pretending not to notice. What a waste.”

She saw the truth of it hit him, a physical blow. His eyes squeezed shut.

“Mark doesn’t have to pretend,” she continued, her tone conversational, dissecting. “He’s… substantial. He takes what he wants. And I let him.” She paused, letting the image solidify. “I want him to.”

Arthur’s breath came in short, ragged hitches. He was crying now, silent tears tracking through the stubble on his cheeks.

Eleanor felt a surge of power, cleaner and more intoxicating than any orgasm Mark had given her. This was control. Absolute and terrifying. She cupped his cheek, her thumb wiping a tear away. The gesture could have been tender. It wasn’t.

“I’m not going to stop seeing him,” she said, the words final as a judge’s gavel. “But maybe… you don’t have to just watch from your car down the street. Maybe you get to be part of it. In your own way.”

His eyes flew open, wide with a confused, horrifying hope.

She smiled then, a real smile, cold and beautiful. “Think about it. While you’re sleeping in the guest room tonight.” She gave his cheek a soft, patronizing pat and turned away, pulling her top off over her head as she walked towards the ensuite, dismissing him. “Close the door on your way out.”

Arthur stood rooted, the echo of her proposition vibrating in his bones. The shame was a fire. But deep within the ashes, something else, something she had seen and nurtured, coiled tight and alive. He turned, obedient, and shuffled towards the door, his whole world reduced to the silent, empty space of the guest room down the hall.
