Chapter 1: Introduction
The old wooden door creaked open to reveal a dimly lit hallway, the scent of lemon furniture polish and aged paper wafting through the air. Alexis stepped inside, her breath visible in the chilly evening. She tugged at the hem of her short leather jacket, feeling the familiar thrill of anticipation mixed with a hint of nerves. This was different from her usual late-night ventures into the anatomy lab, but the thrill was just as real.
"Mr. G?" she called out, her voice echoing through the quiet house.
Mr. G emerged from the living room, his wire-rimmed glasses reflecting the soft glow of a nearby lamp. He was dressed casually in a worn sweater and slacks, but his stern expression remained.
"Alexis," he said, his voice a mix of surprise and reluctance. "What are you doing here at this hour?"
Alexis stepped further into the house, her eyes scanning the cluttered shelves filled with books and trinkets. "I needed to see you, Mr. G. I have... a unique request."
He raised an eyebrow, gesturing for her to sit on the worn leather couch. "A request, Alexis?
You know I'm always happy to help, but... it's getting late," Mr. G said, glancing at the antique clock ticking away on the mantel.
Alexis perched on the edge of the couch, her body language tense, yet determined. "I know it's late, and I know this is... unorthodox. But, I need your help with something, something practical. You taught me so much about anatomy, Mr. G. I need to apply that knowledge in a... hands-on way."
Mr. G's eyes narrowed behind his glasses, waiting for her to continue. "Hands-on, Alexis?
You do realize I'm not a doctor, right?" Mr. G asked, his voice tinged with a mix of caution and intrigue.
Alexis took a deep breath, her eyes flickering with a combination of determination and trepidation. "I know you're not, Mr. G. But you're the next best thing. You have the knowledge, the patience, and... the right equipment," she said, her voice steady but her cheeks flushed.
Mr. G's eyebrows shot up, his eyes widening in surprise. "Equipment? Alexis, what exactly are you seeking help with?"
She leaned in closer, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I need to practice urethral sounding, Mr. G. I've read all the textbooks, watched all the videos, but I need to do it myself. On someone... alive."
Mr. G's eyes widened behind his glasses, and he took a step back, running a hand through his short gray beard. "Alexis, I... I don't know what to say. That's... that's highly unusual. And dangerous."
She nodded, her eyes locked onto his. "I know it is, Mr. G. But I need to do this. It's for my studies, for my future. And I trust you.
I wouldn't be here if I didn't."
Mr. G sighed, his eyes scanning her face, trying to gauge her sincerity. He paced around the room, his hands tucked into his pockets, his mind racing. After what felt like an eternity, he stopped in front of her, his expression serious.
"Alright, Alexis. If this is what you need, I'll help you. But we need to set some ground rules."
She nodded eagerly, her green eyes sparkling with relief and excitement. "Of course, Mr. G.
What are the ground rules?"
G's stern expression softened slightly, but his voice remained firm. "First, we need to ensure we're both comfortable with this. We'll start slow, and if either of us is uncomfortable at any point, we stop. Understood?"
Alexis nodded, her eager expression turning serious. "Understood, Mr. G."
He took a deep breath, his hands still in his pockets. "Second, I need you to call me George when we're in... private situations. Mr. G feels too formal."
Alexis smiled, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Alright, George. I can do that."
George nodded, his resolve strengthening. "Good. Now, let's get started. But first, I need a drink." He turned towards the kitchen, leaving Alexis to absorb the weight of their agreement.
Moments later, he returned with two glasses of amber liquid, placed them on the coffee table, and sat down next to Alexis. "For nerves," he explained, handing her a glass.
Alexis took a sip, the whiskey burning her throat. She coughed slightly, her eyes watering. "Strong," she commented, setting the glass down.
George chuckled.
