Chapter 2: The Chair With Benefits
The memory of his hand on my thigh was a ghost I couldn't shake. It haunted the three days between sessions. Sarah noticed my distraction over Thai food, asking twice if I was okay. I’d lied smoothly about a looming deadline. The lie tasted like ash.
Now, standing at the gym entrance on Thursday, my palms were damp. I scanned the open floor. There he was, by the cable machines, showing a client proper form. His back was to me, muscles shifting under his tight grey tee. He laughed at something they said, and the sound, so normal, tightened my chest.
I went through the motions of a warm-up, my eyes constantly flicking back to him. I caught myself noting the way his shorts sat low on his hips, the taper of his waist. Obsessive.Unhealthy. I turned the rowing machine up a level, punishing myself with the burn.
“Hey, Ben.” His voice was right behind me.
I almost slipped off the seat. I turned, breathing harder than I should have been. “Stu. Hey.”
He looked exactly the same. Cheerful, sun-kissed, professional. The moment in the massage chair might as well have been a dream he’d never shared. “Ready to get smoked? I’ve got something special today. A full-body torcher with a new finisher.”
“Great,” I said, my voice sounding too enthusiastic.
The workout was brutal, a calculated chaos of supersets that left no muscle group untouched. My focus, however, was split. Half on the weights, half on him. I watched his hands as he adjusted my grip on the barbell, his fingers brushing mine. I watched his concentration as he spotted my bench press, the line of his jaw, the faint sheen of sweat on his temple. He’d lean in, his chest close to my back to demonstrate a stretch, and I’d catch his scent—clean sweat, salt, a faint, sharp cologne.
“You’re distracted today, man,” he said during a rest period, sipping from his water bottle. “Everything alright?”
No. “Just tired. Work stuff.” I avoided his eyes.
He nodded, but his gaze felt assessing, like he was looking at more than my form. “Well, I’ve got the perfect cure for tired. Recovery is getting an upgrade. Come on.”
He led me not to the familiar chair in the corner, but down a short hallway behind the supplement counter, past the staff door. I’d never been back here.
“We got a new piece of tech in,” he explained, swiping a keycard. “High-end massage system. Still in beta, really. Only offering it to a few clients to gauge feedback. You’re my guinea pig.”
The room was small, dimly lit, and quiet. The dominant feature was a sleek, futuristic-looking chair, all black leather and chrome. It looked more like something from a spaceship than a gym. A large mirror covered one wall.
“Looks intense,” I managed.
“It’s magic,” Stu said, his grin wide. He guided me over. “Sit, lie back. Let it do its thing. I’ll be back to check on you in ten.” He handed me a small, sleek remote with a single dial. “Intensity control. Start low.”
He left, closing the door softly behind him. The silence was profound, just the hum of the building’s ventilation. I sank into the chair. It conformed to my body, cool and suppressive. I turned the dial to its lowest setting.
A low vibration began, deep in the base of the chair. It was pleasant, a gentle hum that seeped into my lower back. I closed my eyes, trying to relax my pounding heart. The memory of our last session pressed in. I shifted, my gym shorts feeling thin and inadequate against the leather.
The vibration began to move. It rolled up my spine in slow, deliberate waves. Then it changed. Different nodes seemed to activate, the sensation separating, focusing. I felt two distinct points of deep, rhythmic pulsing start at the very tops of my hamstrings, right where my glutes met my thighs.
A place his hand had been.
My eyes flew open. I stared at the acoustic-tiled ceiling. The pulsing was insistent, methodical. It wasn’t sexual. It was therapeutic. It had to be. But my nervous system was on high alert, wires crossing. The deep thrumming rolled up the back of my thighs, again and again, a slow, relentless tide. With each pass, the intensity subtly increased.
My breathing shallowed. I glanced at the remote. My thumb was on the dial. I hadn’t turned it. The chair was doing this on its own.
A low heat, different from workout burn, pooled in my groin. I tried to think of spreadsheets, of Sarah, of anything else. But my body was listening to a different story. Each rhythmic pulse felt like a bold, invisible finger pressing into that exact, vulnerable seam. My cock began to thicken, a slow, undeniable awakening against the constriction of my shorts and the cold leather.No. Not here. Not now.
I squeezed my eyes shut again, trying to wrestle control. The chair’s program shifted. The nodes reconfigured. Now the vibrations were more concentrated, two tight circles of intense, almost percussive sensation, right on the inner crease of my thighs, impossibly close to my perineum.
A sharp, helpless gasp escaped my lips. My hips gave a minute, involuntary jerk.
That’s when I saw it. In the mirror.
The door to the room was ajar. Not much. Just a crack. And in the sliver of reflection, backlit by the brighter hallway light, stood Stu. He wasn’t looking at his phone. He wasn’t about to walk in. He was perfectly still, watching.
Watching me.
His expression was unreadable from this angle, just the sharp profile of his face, the set of his shoulders. But his focus was absolute. He was observing me—my tension, my swallowed gasp, the clear, telltale bulge now tenting my shorts.
Humiliation and a terrifying bolt of raw excitement fused in my veins. I was completely exposed, caught in this private, humiliating, electrifying response. And he was seeing it all. Deliberately.
Our eyes met in the glass. He didn’t look away. He held my reflected gaze, his own calm, curious. A faint, almost imperceptible tilt of his head.
Then, a slow, deliberate smile touched his lips. Not his usual broad, cheerful grin. This was something else. Something private, knowing, and utterly intentional.
He had positioned the nodes. He had left the door cracked. He was watching. This was no accident.
The chair pulsed on, a relentless mimicry of a touch I now craved and feared in equal measure. My body betrayed me entirely, responding with a full, aching hardness that pressed against the zipper. I was frozen, pinned by the machine and his gaze in the mirror.
After a lifetime of five seconds, he gave one last, slow nod. Not a word spoken. Then he pushed the door closed with a soft, definitive click.
The lock engaged with a quiet but unmistakable sound.
I was alone again with the vibrations, with my own ragged breath, and with the seismic, irreversible understanding that nothing between us would ever be the same. The game had changed. And I had no idea what the rules were, only that I was already playing.
