A rehabilitation center was the last place Daniel would have expected to land a job at after graduating from Columbia with his Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology. The nondescript building's interior screamed modern chic—gray, blue, and white accents with sleek surfaces, reminding Daniel of a high-end spa where the rich and famous came to rediscover their youth and well-being.
The place catered to many patients with diverse needs, but Daniel focused on one thing: communication disorders.
He loved exploring human connection, helping people express their deepest thoughts and desires. The irony of the situation felt deliciously tempting, considering his roving eye and reputation as a womanizer.
Daniel soon found himself with a roster of four patients his first day. Busy helping them find their voices, he didn't even notice his three colleagues watching him from the other side of the room. Sarah, Emily, and Jane lingered there; three modern women who made up the core of this therapeutic team.
