Chapter 1: The First Pour, The First Tremble
The candles were doing most of the work. Their light pooled in the dips of the rumpled comforter and leapt along the curves of the three wine glasses Mark was filling, his hand trembling just enough to make the bottle’s neck clink a nervous rhythm against the rim.
“Sorry,” he muttered, more to himself than to the women on his bed.
Stine laughed, a bright, bubbly sound that seemed to bounce off the cardboard boxes stacked in the corner. “If you spill it, you’re licking it up.” She was perched cross-legged, her back straight, as if trying to remember how to sit. The vanilla scent of her perfume fought with the room’s older smells of dust and melted wax.
Jessi just nodded, her fingers twisting in the fabric of her skirt. The low hum from the TV, some smooth jazz tutorial, was a poor substitute for conversation. Her other hand was buried in her jacket pocket, her thumb running over the smooth, hard plastic of Francis. She’d meant it as a safety net. Now it felt like a stolen object.
“It’s just… quieter than I pictured,” Stine said, accepting a glass. Her eyes, wide and blue, flicked to Jessi, then to Mark, then to the wall where a movie poster was half-taped, one corner stubbornly curled.
Mark sat on the edge of the bed, the springs groaning. “We could turn the music up?”
“It’s not the music,” Jessi said quietly. Then she flushed, realizing she’d spoken. “I mean. It’s fine.”
An expectant silence settled again, heavier than before. Mark took a long gulp of wine. He’d imagined this a hundred times—the sweat, the gasps, the tangle of limbs—but he’d never imagined the quiet. The terrifying space between the idea and the starting gun.
Stine broke it. She shifted, uncrossing her legs and stretching them out, her toes brushing Mark’s thigh. “Okay. I’m just going to say it. I’m nervous as hell. But also…” She looked directly at Jessi, a shy, conspiratorial smile playing on her lips. “I’ve been thinking about your boobs all week.”
Jessi’s head snapped up, a shocked laugh bursting out of her. “What?”
“They’re amazing.” Stine shrugged, as if stating a simple fact about the weather. “I see you in the library and I just think… damn. That’s the blueprint.”
Mark watched, fascinated, as Jessi’s posture unclenched a little. A real smile touched her mouth. “You’re one to talk. Your ass is literally sculpted.”
“Years of squatting.” Stine grinned, patting her own rear. “Pain and gain.”
The dynamic shifted, the air thinning just enough to breathe. Mark saw his opening. “So we’re all… on the same page? Thinking about each other?” He sounded like he was confirming a meeting agenda, and he cringed inwardly.
“Yes, Mark,” Stine said, rolling her eyes with affection. “We’re all horribly turned on and terribly awkward. It’s a whole thing.”
He let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. “Good. Okay.” He set his glass on the floor. The action felt decisive. His eyes landed on Stine’s mouth, then the delicate line of her collarbone exposed by her tank top. This was it. The image from his mind, now inches away.
He leaned over and kissed her.
It was soft at first, a question. She answered, her hand coming up to cup his jaw, her fingers cool. She tasted like wine and mint gum. He’d wondered for so long, and the reality was better—the little sigh she gave, the way she bit his lower lip playfully.
When they parted, both their breaths were shorter. Mark glanced at Jessi. She was watching, her lips slightly parted, one hand still in her pocket. The other was clenched in the sheets.
“Your turn,” Stine whispered, her voice husky. She didn’t move towards Jessi, just looked at her, an open invitation.
Jessi hesitated. Then, with a small, almost imperceptible nod, she leaned in. Stine met her halfway.
Mark watched, a hot jolt shooting straight through him. It was different from his fantasies—more tentative, more real. The way Stine’s hand came up to tentatively stroke Jessi’s blonde hair. The way Jessi initially stiffened, then melted, a soft whimper escaping her as the kiss deepened. He could see the curve of Jessi’s breast pressed against Stine’s arm.
He reached out, his fingers brushing the skin of Stine’s lower back where her top had ridden up. She arched into his touch, breaking the kiss with Jessi but staying close, their foreheads touching.
“This is okay?” Mark asked, his voice rough.
“Yeah,” Jessi breathed. “It’s… yeah.”
Stine turned her head and kissed Mark again, more hungrily this time. Her other hand found Jessi’s, pulling it from her pocket and lacing their fingers together. Jessi’s pocket emptied, the shape of Francis pressing against the thin fabric from the inside.
Mark’s hand journeyed from Stine’s back to Jessi’s knee. He felt her flinch, then relax, her skin warm through her tights. He slid his palm upward, over her thigh, the pressure of his touch a clear question. She nodded against Stine’s cheek.
The jazz hummed on. A candle sputtered, throwing a wild shadow across the ceiling. The tidy, nervous tension of ten minutes ago was gone, unraveled into something warmer, messier, charged with a shared current of yes.
Jessi’s free hand, the one not clinging to Stine, crept back toward her pocket. She traced the outline of the vibrator through the cloth, a secret anchor in the swirling newness of it all. She wondered if she’d need it, or if the need was already being met by the scrape of Mark’s stubble on her neck as he kissed his way down from her ear, and the hypnotic sight of Stine’s hands pushing his t-shirt up over his abdomen.
Stine pulled back, looking at both of them, her pupils blown wide in the candlelight. “So,” she said, her bubbly voice now a low murmur. “How do we want to do this?”
The question hung in the musky air. Not a plan, but a door swinging open. Mark, his heart pounding against his ribs, finally reached for the hem of Stine’s top. Jessi watched, her breath catching, her thumb finding the power button on Francis through the fabric. She didn’t press it. Not yet. But her finger rested there, a promise or a plea, as the first piece of clothing slid to the floor.
Stine’s top pooled around her waist, revealing a black sports bra that did nothing to hide the soft swell of her breasts, the hard points of her nipples straining against the thin fabric. Mark exhaled sharply, his cock twitching against his jeans. He’d seen her in the gym, admired the way her body moved under the weight—now that body was his to touch. To lick. To ruin.
“Jesus Christ,” he muttered, hands trembling as he reached for her.
Stine laughed, low and throaty, arching her back when his palms finally cupped her breasts. The feel of her was unreal—soft but firm, her skin warm and flushed.
Mark groaned as he squeezed her, his thumbs circling her stiff, aching nipples through the damp fabric of her bra. Stine gasped, her nails digging into his shoulders. “Fuck—Mark—”
Jessi watched, her pulse hammering in her throat, her own free hand now slipping beneath the waistband of her tights. She didn’t care anymore about hiding Francis. Not when Mark’s mouth was on Stine’s collarbone, his teeth scraping over the sensitive skin, his fingers already hooking under the underwire of her bra and yanking it down.
Stine’s breasts spilled free, heavy and perfect, the pink tips already tight and begging for attention.
