Chapter 2: The Gift of Denial
The scent of jasmine and sandalwood curled through the living room, a deliberate replacement for last night’s popcorn and wine. Dozens of pillar candles flickered on every surface, their light pooling in the hollows of our bodies, glancing off skin. Rachel had texted three words an hour ago: Wear nothing underneath.
So here we were, Aaron and I, perched nervously on the edge of the couch in our casual clothes—me in a simple black dress, him in dark jeans and a soft grey henley—feeling utterly exposed despite being fully covered. The air itself felt charged, like before a storm.
The key turned in the lock. She entered, a silhouette against the hall light before she closed the door, sealing us in our golden, perfumed cage. She wore a crimson coat, belted tight. Her heels clicked decisively on the hardwood.
“Happy Valentine’s Day,” she said, her voice a low purr that resonated in my ribs.
She shrugged off her coat, letting it fall to the floor. Beneath it, she wore only black lace—a harness of intricate straps over her breasts, matching briefs that revealed more than they concealed. She was a vision of controlled power, her hair piled high, her smile faint and possessive.
“You look…” Aaron began, his voice trailing off into awe.
“I know,” she finished for him, walking slowly to the center of the room. “Stand up. Both of you.”
We rose, moving as one. The casual familiarity of the breakfast cleanup was gone, replaced by a ceremonial tension. She circled us, her gaze a physical touch. “You’ve been good,” she said. “Following the rules. Talking. No weirdness. I’m proud of you.” Her hand came up, caressing Aaron’s cheek, then mine. The praise was a warm bath. “Tonight is a gift. For me. And for you. But you have to earn it.”
She stepped back. “Strip.Slowly. Let me look at you.”
My fingers trembled on the zipper of my dress. Aaron’s movements were more deliberate, his eyes locked on Rachel as he pulled his henley over his head. The dress pooled at my feet. The cool air kissed my skin, raising goosebumps. Soon we stood before her, bare and vulnerable. The candlelight loved Aaron’s shoulders, the dip of my spine. We waited.
Rachel produced two small, elegant boxes tied with black silk ribbons. She held them out. “Open them. Together.”
We took the boxes. The ribbons slithered away. Inside mine, nestled on velvet, was a belt of delicate but sturdy-looking silicone and polished stainless steel. It was beautiful, in a terrifying way. A sleek, oval shield covered the front, with an intricate, subtle locking mechanism at the hip. Aaron’s box held a similar device, a cage of polished metal with a complex little lock.
“A symbol,” Rachel said, watching our faces. “Of my care. Of your devotion. Of the control you willingly give me.” She took my belt, kneeling before me. Her fingers were cool and sure as she fitted it around my hips. The silicone was soft against my skin, the metal cool. The click of the lock was deafening. A finality.A surrender. She repeated the process with Aaron, her hands steadying him as he shuddered at the touch of the metal. The second click echoed the first.
I felt suddenly, profoundly, hers. The weight of the belt was a constant, gentle reminder. Aaron looked down at himself, then at Rachel, his expression a mixture of awe and utter submission.
“Beautiful,” she breathed, rising to her feet. She guided us back to the couch, arranging us as she wished—Aaron sitting upright, me kneeling on the floor between his legs, my back to his chest. She stood over us, a goddess in lace and shadow.
“You may touch each other,” she decreed. “But only where I say. Lizzie, your hands on his chest. Aaron, your hands on her shoulders. That’s all.”
Our hands obeyed. I felt the frantic beat of Aaron’s heart under my palms. His fingers kneaded the tension in my shoulders.
Rachel watched, her own hand tracing idle patterns over the black lace between her legs. “Look at you. My perfect, beautiful possessions. Do you feel how much you want? How much you need?”
A whimper escaped me. The belt made every pulse of desire a trapped, throbbing ache. Aaron’s breathing was ragged against my ear.
“I can feel it,” she whispered. “It’s a physical thing in the room. Now… we play.”
What followed was an exercise in exquisite torment. She commanded Aaron to kiss my neck, my shoulders, but go no lower. She ordered me to arch my back, to present myself to her gaze, while she described in filthy, poetic detail what she could do, but wouldn’t.Not yet. She used her hands, her mouth, her words. She’d bring one of us to the very brink, fingertips fluttering, breath hot, only to pull away and turn her attention to the other, leaving us gasping and desperate.
“Please,” Aaron groaned, after what felt like an eternity, his head thrown back.
“Please, what?” Rachel asked, pausing her ministrations on me. She was kneeling before me now, her breath a centimeter from where I needed her most.
“Please, Rachel. Let me… I need…”
“You need to come?” she finished, her voice all faux sympathy. She looked up at him, her eyes glinting. “So does she. Look at her.” She ran a single fingernail over the shielded front of my belt. I jerked, a sob catching in my throat. “But my gifts are locked. And I hold the key.”
She stood, walking to where her coat lay. From a pocket, she produced two small, shining keys on a red ribbon. She dangled them before us. “This is the rest of your gift. Your release. But it comes on my terms.” She tied the ribbon around her neck, the keys settling in the cleft of her breasts. “You will earn them. By doing exactly as I say. And by watching.”
She pushed me gently back until I was lying on the rug before the couch. She looked at Aaron. “Hold her. Keep her still.”
He moved behind me, pulling me into his lap, his arms a cage around my torso. Rachel knelt between my legs. She didn’t touch the belt. Instead, she lowered her head, her tongue tracing the sensitive skin of my inner thighs, the crease of my hips, everywhere but the center of the ache. Each touch was a lightning strike. I writhed, but Aaron held me fast.
“Watch him, Lizzie,” Rachel murmured against my skin. “Watch his face while I taste you.”
I turned my head. Aaron’s eyes were wide, dark with desperate want, glued to Rachel’s movements. Seeing his need mirrored my own, multiplied it.
Rachel’s attention became focused, relentless. She used her hands, her mouth, her words, building me higher and higher on a plateau of denial. The belt became a maddening, necessary prison. Just as I was certain I would shatter from the tension alone, she stopped.
She rose, her own breathing uneven. She was glistening, her lace soaked through. Without a word, she climbed onto the couch, straddling Aaron’s lap where he still held me. She guided him, still caged, to where she needed him. She sank down onto him with a slow, controlled sigh, taking him inside her in the only way the device would allow.
The sound he made was pure, shattered bliss.
“Now, Lizzie,” Rachel gasped, her rhythm beginning, slow and deep. “Watch. And taste.”
She shifted forward, positioning herself over my face. I didn’t need to be asked twice. I leaned up, my tongue finding her, lapping at the honeyed evidence of her arousal and my husband’s trapped desperation. The taste was electric, primal. Aaron’s grip on me tightened, his hips pushing up into her as much as the cage would allow, his moans merging with hers.
I was the connection, the conduit. Pleasing her was pleasing him. Their combined sounds, the smell of sex and candle wax, the relentless, frustrated pressure of my own belt, it was a feedback loop of agonizing pleasure.
Rachel’s movements became erratic, her commands breaking into gasps. “Yes—just like—don’t stop—Aaron—”
She climaxed with a sharp cry, her body clenching around him. A hot rush of her release coated my tongue, my chin. As she shuddered through it, she reached behind her, her fingers finding him. With a deft twist, she unlocked the cage.
The effect was instantaneous. Freed, and pushed over the edge by her climax and her touch, Aaron came with a broken shout, his release joining hers inside her.
For a moment, there was only the sound of ragged breathing. Rachel, spent, collapsed sideways onto the couch. Aaron, arms slackening, released me. I lay on the rug, tasting them both on my lips, my own body screaming for relief.
Rachel recovered first. She sat up, looking down at me with heavy-lidded, satisfied eyes. She touched the keys at her chest. Then, moving with deliberate slowness, she unlocked my belt. The click was a sweet, terrible relief. The weight fell away.
But her touch that followed was not gentle. It was urgent, commanding, a direct order after hours of negotiation. “Now,” she said, her fingers finally, finally finding the throbbing core of me. “Come for me.”
It was all it took. One touch, her eyes holding mine, her fingers slick with their combined essence. The orgasm ripped through me, violent and overwhelming, a tidal wave that had been building for centuries. I cried out, my back arching off the floor, seeing stars in the candlelit dark.
When I floated back, I was cradled between them on the couch, a tangled, sweaty, satiated mess of limbs. Rachel’s head was on Aaron’s shoulder, her hand possessively on my hip. The candles had burned lower.
“So,” Aaron murmured into the quiet, his voice raw. “That was the gift.”
“Part one,” Rachel corrected sleepily. She lifted the ribbon from her neck, the two keys gleaming. She placed it over my head. “Part two is trust. You hold the keys now. Until next time.”
The metal was warm from her skin. I clutched it, a talisman. The belt and cage, symbols of her control, were now ours to keep. To choose to use again. The power, which had felt so absolute moments before, had completed a circuit, flowing back to us.
We slept there, on the couch, in the nest of our making. In the grey dawn, I awoke to find Rachel’s eyes open, watching me. She leaned in and kissed me, soft and deep. I could still taste us all.
“Happy Valentine’s Day,” she whispered.
And for the first time, the phrase didn’t feel like a marketed slogan. It felt like a promise, a secret, and a key, all coiled into one.
