Chapter 6: Bitter exchange

: The Creaking Confession

Dean awoke to the sun streaming through his slightly cracked basement window, illuminating the small space with a soft, golden glow. His eyes adjusted to the light, and he sat up in bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He was greeted by the unmistakable sound of thumping and grunting coming from the floor above him, followed by Emily's unmistakable moans.

"Seriously?" Dean muttered to himself, running a hand through his tousled hair. "Still?

Really, Emily?" Dean sighed, shaking his head in disbelief as he listened to the familiar thumping and moaning from above. He had woken up to this noise more times than he cared to count in the past few weeks, and it was starting to get old. Well, not really. It was still incredibly annoying, but he had to admit that it was also a little exciting. And more than a little arousing.

He flopped back down onto his pillow, trying to block out the noise and go back to sleep. But it was no use. The wall above him was vibrating like a cheap motel room, and the sounds of Emily's pleasure were too much to ignore.

Eventually the house seemed quiet enough for him to have his morning coffee before going to work.

He sat at the kitchen table, sipping his coffee, when he heard Emily's voice from upstairs.

"Marcus, wait up! We can't leave like this," she said.

Dean froze, his coffee cup halfway to his lips. He leaned in closer, straining to hear the muffled response from Marcus.

"Emily, I told you, I can't. I've got to get to work. Our boss is a real asshole if I'm late," Marcus said.

"But, Marcus, look at this mess!

Dean's eyes widened as he realized the host of things she could be referring to. "Oh no," he muttered under his breath, painfully aware of the potential lurking just above his head. He was about to head upstairs to investigate when Marcus's reply stopped him in his tracks.

"Emily, come on, you can't just leave a mess like that and expect him not to notice," Marcus said, his voice tinged humor with a touch of annoyance .

Dean's jaw dropped as he realized what they were talking about. He quickly set his coffee cup down on the table, his mind racing with a mix of horror and disbelief.

"Well, I'm sorry if I got a little carried away, but that's what happens when you fuck like a maniac all night long," Emily retorted.

Dean covered his ears, trying to block out their conversation.

"For the love of all that is holy, please stop talking about bodily fluids while I'm trying to enjoy my morning coffee!" he called out, his voice laced with exasperation and a hint of humor.

Emily's laughter echoed down the stairs, and Dean could hear Marcus's chuckle as well. "Sorry, Dean! We didn't mean to disturb your breakfast," Emily called back, still laughing.

Dean shook his head.

And maybe call a plumber while you're at it. I don't want to have to wade through a lake of...whatever that is to get to the basement."

He washed his cup and made his way to the stairs, his footsteps echoing through the empty house.

He climbed the stairs slowly, bracing himself for what he was about to encounter. As he reached the top, he found himself face to face with a closed door. He raised his fist to knock, but paused, realizing that the door was already slightly ajar. He could see the edge of the bed through the crack, and he could hear the low hum of the vacuum cleaner coming from the other room.

"Dean! What are you doing up here?" Emily exclaimed, jumping back from the vacuum cleaner.

"Well, good morning to you too, sunshine," Dean said, his voice dry. "I could ask you the same thing, but I think I already know the answer." He looked around the room, his eyes landing on the bed, which was now covered in a neatly folded comforter, the sheets and pillows already stripped away.

"So, I take it Marcus left?"

Emily nodded, her cheeks flushing slightly. "Yeah, he had to get to work. Early shift." "At the grocery store? On a Saturday?"

Emily shrugged, still trying to hide her grin. "He's part-time. They call him in whenever they need extra help."

Dean snorted. "Uh-huh. So same as why you call him then."

Emily bit her lip, trying to suppress her laughter.

"He seems to be a valuable asset. You know, considering the amount of effort he put into 'helping' you last night," Dean said, raising an eyebrow as he glanced at the bed, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth.

Emily's blush deepened, and she couldn't help but giggle, but he really did have an early shift at work."

A very early shift workin on dis pussy," Emily admitted, her eyes twinkling with amusement.

Dean raised an eyebrow, "And why are you grinning like the Cheshire Cat? You look like you've just won the lottery."

Emily shrugged, "Well, let's just say, he has a... unique way of waking me up in the morning. It's quite the alarm clock."

Dean groaned, "Emily, trust me that alarm woke me up too, but good for you for getting morning wood from the grocery store bag boy."

Emily laughed, "Oh, come on, Dean.

It's not like I'm the only one getting dicks for breakfast, there must be others out there with my affliction."

Dean's eyes widened in mock horror, "Ya likely serving up trouser snakes for the early bird special down at the diner"

Emily's laughter was infectious, and despite himself, Dean found himself chuckling along with her. "You know what I mean," she said between giggles.

"You know, for someone who just admitted to having a...unique morning routine, you sure are laughing an awful lot."

Emily grinned, still clutching the vacuum cleaner. "What can I say? I'm just happy to see you. Plus, you know how much I love a good dick joke."

Dean rolled his eyes but couldn't help smiling. "Yes, yes, I know. Your love for a good dick joke is second only to your love for actual dicks.

Speaking of dicks, what the hell happened here last night? I mean, I know what happened, but I don't know what happened. If you know what I mean."

Emily laughed, a sound that was equal parts innocent and naughty. "Oh, Dean, always the curious one. Well, let's just say that Marcus has a...unique talent. And a lot of stamina. One might even call him a marathon man."

Dean raised an eyebrow, trying his best to keep a straight face. "A marathon man, huh? Well, I hope he didn't leave you too exhausted.

You need your strength for your bar night tonight, right?" Dean said, smirking.

"Oh, ha ha, very funny," Emily retorted, but she was smiling. "Actually, I think I might skip it tonight. I'm pretty sure my legs aren't going to work properly for at least a few hours."

Dean laughed, shaking his head. "Well, I'll be sure to have some aspirin and a cold compress ready for you when you get home."

"You're so thoughtful," Emily said sarcastically, but she was still smiling.

"You know, for a guy who gets jealous every time I have a date, you're sure acting mighty chummy with me now."

Dean shrugged, "Well, I figure if I can't have you, I might as well be friends with the guy who's giving you the best sex of your life."

Emily's eyes widened in surprise, and she let out a laugh. "Best sex of my life? Dean, you're in for a rude awakening if you think Marcus is the one giving me that."

Dean's eyebrow shot up, "Oh yeah,? and who might that be?"

Emily's eyes twinkled with mischief as she took a step closer to him, her fingers playing with the belt of her robe.

"Well, maybe if you're a good boy and help me clean up this mess, I might just tell you," she said, her voice low and slutty.

Dean raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. "Clean up this mess, huh?

Dean surveyed the room, his eyes landing on the oversized towel draped over the headboard, and the telltale stain on the sheets. He shook his head, grinning despite himself. "Yeah, I think I'll pass on the before and after comparison.

"Well, come on, Dean. You can't just stand there looking all judgmental. Grab a towel and let's get to work," Emily said, handing him a towel and pointing to the headboard.

Dean took the towel, chuckling as he wiped down the headboard.

"You know, for someone who just had a marathon session, you sure are full of energy this morning."

Emily shrugged, her eyes twinkling. Great sex gives me the energy of a thousand suns."

Dean shot her a sideways glance. "Oh, really? Because from where I'm standing, it looks like you were the one getting the workout. Poor Marcus must have felt like he was running a 5K."

Emily laughed, a sound that was both naughty and playful. "10k more like."

Dean's gaze lingered on Emily's robe, which was now open just enough to give him a teasing glimpse of her cleavage.

His heart began to pound in his chest, and he had to force himself to look away. He didn't want to make things awkward, especially since they were still just friends.

"So, are you planning on getting dressed anytime soon?" Dean asked casually, trying to hide the fact that his mind was racing with thoughts of peeling that robe off her.

Emily looked down at herself, as if just realizing she was only wearing a robe. "Oh, yeah, I guess I should," she said with a shrug.

She turned her back to him, giving him a clear view of her heart-shaped ass as she dropped her robe to the floor. Dean felt his mouth go dry as he watched her bend over to pick it up.

"You know, Dean, you're staring like you've never seen a naked woman before," Emily said, turning around to face him with a smirk.

Dean coughed, trying to hide his embarrassment. "Well, it's not every day I see the most beautiful woman I've ever known parading around naked in front of me," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Emily rolled her eyes.

"Parading? I'm just getting dressed, Dean. If you don't like it, you can look away."

Dean raised an eyebrow. "Oh, I like it. Believe me, I like it. I just don't want to get carried away and do something stupid like rip that robe off and have my way with you right here on the bed. Especially since I know Marcus is probably still lingering somewhere nearby, waiting for round two.

Emily breathed deeply. "Round 8 would be more accurate", she said under her breath.

Dean smirked "You know what, maybe i don't feel guilty looking at your ass. You owe me that much anyway."

"Whats that supposed to mean?" emily asked

"Just that you had dinner with me and a beautiful conversation on the way home just to sprint to your bedroom and bang Mr huge cock all night."

Emily laughed, "Oh please, it wasn't all night, we only went at it for like 4 hours. maybe 5 at the most."

"5 hours is all night for most people" dean replied

"Well, maybe you need to find someone who is more your speed then" Emily suggested

Dean raised an eyebrow, "And who might that be?"

Emily shrugged, "I don't know, maybe someone who isn't so hung up on their ex"

Dean felt a pang of guilt in his chest but pushed it aside. "I'm the one who's hung up on his ex, even though she's fucking half the town. I'm the one who can't sleep at night because I hear her moaning and grunting like a wild animal. I'm the one who's still in love with her, even though she's moved on. happy now?" Dean's voice was laced with frustration and pain, his eyes blazing with emotion.

Emily's smile faded, and she took a step closer to him, her voice softening. "Dean, I...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I thought... I thought you were just... teasing." Emily's eyes welled up, and she reached out to touch Dean's arm.

Dean looked at her hand, then back up at her face. He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I know, Em. I know you didn't mean to. You never do."

He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. "Look, it's just... it's hard. You know? Seeing you with other guys, hearing you... enjoying yourself. It's hard not to feel like... Look forget I said that, It was dumb."

He shifted his feet. "I think I felt like a bit of a fool in our driveway last night. I'm just being overly sensitive.

You have every right to enjoy yourself. I just... I wish it didn't have to be with other guys, you know?"

Emily's eyes softened, and she reached up to cup Dean's cheek in her hand. "Dean, I...I care about you too. More than you know. But we can't keep doing this dance, can we?"

Dean sighed, his hand covering hers. "No, I suppose we can't. It's just...it's hard to let go, Em. Even when I know it's the right thing to do."

Emily leaned into his touch, her eyes searching his.

"I know it is, Dean. I know how hard it is for both of us. But we can't keep torturing ourselves like this. It's not healthy for either of us."

"I know I know," He gave his best fake chuckle. "Look I'm not really that upset I'm just trying to avoid hearing about this guy that gives you the best sex you've ever had. Now lets get cleaning young lady."
