Chapter 1: Introduction

Layla adjusted her sunglasses, squinting as the blazing sun seared her eyes. The golden sand was scorching under her bare feet, but her skin already tanned from weeks of intense workouts remained stubbornly pale. The straps of her purple bikini top cut into her shoulders, leaving behind two red lines that itched like crazy. Exercising relentlessly over the past year, in preparation for the Olympics, gave her sculpted, toned muscles that caught men's attention every time she walked into a room.

But that wasn't why she kept pushing herself to her limits. She did it to escape the suffocating confines of her life, and if she happened to attract a few admirers along the way, well, that was just an added perk.

She glanced at Mia, her wild, carefree best friend since childhood, who sprawled lazily on her stomach, soaking in the sun. Her ample curves were on full display in a tiny red bikini, her golden locks spread out like a halo around her head.

Mia was the epitome of reckless abandon, the exact opposite of disciplined Layla. Waves crashed against the shore, and suddenly she was up on her feet, sprinting towards the water, leaving Layla in her wake. With a sigh, Layla followed, treading the cool water, feeling it lap at her thighs, then rising higher, wetting her crotch.

As they reached waist-deep water, Layla suddenly saw her friend being scooped up by a dark, muscular man. Being thrown over his shoulder it wasn't long before Layla felt a fellow surfer pick her up

as well, holding her tight against his body. The feel of his rough, surf-worn hands on her smooth, athletic skin sent a jolt of pleasure radiating to her core.

"What the fuck? Put me down!" Layla yelled, wriggling against the stranger's gripping hold. But he simply laughed, carrying her back to the shore like a pet.

When they reached sandy ground, the man dropped her and let the two go.

"Whoa there, did we scare you?" The man teases, hotdogging it up for his audience of one.

Layla's cheeks are on fire, the heat rivaling the afternoon sun. This isn't funny to her—it's an intrusion, these jocks manhandling her friend. But when Layla glanced at Mia, she was tossing her head back and cackling like this is just another Tuesday.

"Hey, I'm Dave. And who might you be, sweet thing?" The man who carried Layla looked to be in his late-twenties, early thirties. He had a rugged attractiveness; muscles rippling from his broad shoulders, his abs a tanned, toned slab.

"Layla," she said guardedly, her eyes cutting to Mia, who was already chatting up another one of the surfers, her laughter like a siren's song.

"Cute name for a cute girl.

The man named Dave winked at her, his eyes smoldering with unconcealed desire. Layla hesitated to respond, her heart racing in her chest, conflicted between the burning need coursing through her veins and the fact that she had a boyfriend.

"Come back to our villa with us, where there are no crowds. You'd enjoy the peace, I promise." Dave's words sliced through her thoughts like a hot knife through sheer silk.

Mia's eyes sparkle. "Layla, let's go! It's huge, trust me—" Mia grabbed her by the wrist, pulling her closer towards the group of surfers. "Come on, it'll be fun." Her eyes sparkle with mischief as she tugged Layla along. Layla's head whipped back and forth like a three-way pendulum, torn between her responsibilities and curiosity. Finally, she relented, needing a break from her constant regimen. It was an itch she couldn’t scratch anymore.
