Chapter 1: Introduction
Elena's eyes dimmed as she peeled off the worn-out burgundy leather handbag she'd carried since college. It still hung around her wrist, the faded strap digging into her skin. She tossed it onto the bed with a sigh, revealing the glossy black surface of her computer desk. Taking a deep breath, she hit the power button, her laptop igniting with a soft hum.
A chaotic mix of spreadsheets and documents danced across the screen; a cacophony of numbers, proposals, and deadlines. Among the clutter were tabs she'd left open from her favorite literary magazines and news articles she planned to read, but never quite got around to. It was her life, crammed into a 13-inch monitor, and she'd never felt more overwhelmed.
Elena glanced at her phone, still nestled in the front pocket of her bag—no messages from Lena yet.
She waited, her heartbeat matching the rhythmic pulsing of the bass from the nearby nightclub. The night was young, and if she had learned anything from her years in the city, it was that there was always something happening after midnight. A quick glance at the clock confirmed her suspicion. Almost time.
The knock came, sharp and definitive, shattering the quiet of her apartment. She swung her legs out of bed and padded to the door, yanking it open to reveal Lena, her best friend and confidante, standing in the hallway, a wide grin painted across her face.
"Hurry up, you!" Lena shoved her shoulder playfully. "The night is waiting, and you know Ava's going to be there."
Elena stiffened, a cold sweat replacing the excitement she'd felt just moments before. She rubbed her forehead and sighed. "You know I'm still not entirely comfortable with this."
Lena waved dismissively as they walked down the hallway. "You've got to relax, babe. You can't fight progress, and this is the next stage.
The world is evolving, and we're part of it." Lena frowned, her eyes flitting around in search of her lost enthusiasm. Elena hesitated, watching the pulsing nightclub lights through the window of the corner store. It seemed so alien, yet familiar, like a call from another life she had once known but had long since abandoned.
"I just... I don't want to lose myself."
Lena scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Come on, be realistic. The changes aren't as drastic as you make them out to be.
Besides, when's the last time you even saw Ava? She could have completely transformed already, and you wouldn't even know." Lena nudged Elena's shoulder with her own, her grin returning full force.
Elena glanced at Lena, taking in the swell of her chest, the fullness of her waist, and the way the pink parasite coiled within the dip of her belly button penetrating deep in her guts making her look 4 months pregnant.
She couldn't help but feel a mix of envy and fear at what Lena had become.
As they entered the club, the energy hit them like a tidal wave. The bass pounded in their chests, making their hearts race. Sweaty bodies danced and writhed together to the erotic rhythm, the air thick with pheromones and a heady scent of lust.
Lena grabbed Elena's hand and tugged her towards the dance floor, pushing through the crowd to find Ava.
The mass of writhing bodies obscured their view, but it didn't stop the rhythmic pulse coursing through the room. Elena's heart raced, thumping in time with the beat.
When they finally reached Ava, she stood alone at the bar, her eyes wide as she took in the scene around her. Lena squeezed Elena's hand in excitement before dropping it and draping an arm around Ava's shoulders.
"You came!" Lena shouted over the music, her lips curled in a wicked grin.
"Isn't this amazing? Look at them all, so full of life and desire!"
Ava hesitated, unsure where to keep her eyes in the midst of so much exposed skin and swollen bellies. Elena and lena are gently caressing the parasites embeded in eachother s belly button. They trully love the parasites and consider them a miracle gift from men.
Despite her protests, Lena nudged Elena closer to Ava, urging her to break the ice. Elena hesitated but sighed, understanding that she wouldn't escape until she tried to connect with the seemingly overwhelmed newcomer.
"Hey, Ava. It's good to see you," Elena said, managing a barely convincing smile. Ava looked back and forth between Lena and Elena before sheepishly smiling back.
"It's been a while, hasn't it?
Ava finally managed to meet their gazes, and the fear in her eyes was unmistakable. "I'm not sure this is for me, honestly. I don't think the parasite is something for me."
Elena felt a pang in her heart, a mix of sadness and frustration. "Look, Ava, I understand your concerns. I really do. But trust me—this changes everything.
It's the next step in our evolution. Lena held her ground, her voice firm and persuasive. Elena, feeling the weight of her friend's words, struggled to find a thoughtful response.
Ava's eyes flickered to their swollen bellies, to their parasites pulsing with cells and energy. She looked back at Elena, taking a deep breath before finally speaking up.
"Okay, I admit it's different. But... it just feels wrong, somehow. The way it changes us...
I just don't know if I can do this."
Elena felt a sense of deja vu wash over her as she looked at Ava. It reminded her of her own initial resistance to the parasite, and how Lena had convinced her otherwise.
Lena, ever the optimist, reached out and took Ava's hand, her voice softening as she spoke.
"Ava, you may feel overwhelmed now, but once you experience the transformation, it's life-changing. The parasite connects us to men in a way nothing else can. It gives us an indescribable level of intimacy—something that goes beyond words."
Lena's gaze pierce Ava, reaching the depth of her soul. Her words hung in the air charged with a mix of anticipation and excitement, and Elena couldn't help but notice a spark in Ava's eyes as she absorbed the message behind Lena's speech.
"Let us help you," Elena said, laying a gentle hand on Ava's shoulder. "You don't have to face this alone—and trust me, the sex is unlike anything you've ever experienced."
Ava hesitated for only a moment before her resolve cracked.
A curious hunger flashed across her face, and she nodded slowly in agreement.
"Okay," she relented. "I... I'll try it."
A surge of exhilaration shot through Elena, a sense of victory that the two of them had managed to sway Ava to their side. She pulled Ava into the crowd, and Lena followed, weaving through the writhing bodies until they found an empty corner booth.
