Give it a voice

She said his name once, quietly, and the whole room leaned in to listen.✦

How narration works here

Made to be heard

Read along

Hear it as it is written

Narration is part of generation, not an export you queue afterwards. The chapter arrives, the voice starts, and the words light up in time with it.

Voices

A voice for each of them

Choose a voice per character from the stock library, or blend one of your own. The narrator takes the prose; everybody else takes their own lines.

Still an editor

Change a line, hear it again

The chapter stays yours to edit after you have heard it. Fix the sentence that did not land, then play it back — replays are one credit, and included with Pro.

Five steps

How the AI audiobook generator works

  1. Create a story. Start with a premise, then review the characters, cover and plot.
  2. Generate a chapter. DreamPress writes the prose for you to inspect and edit.
  3. Refine the text. Correct names, dialogue or pacing before listening.
  4. Play the narration. Use the story's read-aloud control to hear the generated chapter.
  5. Continue writing. Steer the next chapter, then listen again as the story develops.

Listen to a DreamPress story instead of reading every chapter on screen. Audio narration is built into story generation, so the text you create can be read aloud as part of the same project. Write and edit a chapter first, then use narration to hear how its pacing, dialogue and sentence length work. This is a text-to-speech story feature for DreamPress chapters rather than a separate upload service. It keeps writing, visual material and listening together, making it useful when reviewing a draft, following a story away from the editor or switching between reading and audio.

What makes DreamPress different

  • Narration is part of story generation. There is no separate document workflow for generated chapters.
  • The text remains editable. Improve the chapter before or after listening to it.
  • Writing can continue. Generate and steer later chapters within the same story.
  • Characters, covers and scene images stay together. Audio is one part of a broader story project.
  • Audio is included with generation. Narration is bundled with generation rather than charged as a separate action.

When to listen to your story

Read-aloud is useful at more than one stage. Listen after a first draft to notice repeated phrases or dialogue that sounds unnatural. Play a previous chapter before steering the next one when you need to return to its mood. Use audio when you want to follow the story without looking at the editor. Because you can still edit the chapter, narration becomes a way to review the prose as well as a way to experience the finished scene.
