Chapter 3: Chapter 3
I was used to being ignored, even by my own family. It was better that way. People stared because they could not believe what they were seeing a girl who was not afraid to be herself, no matter how different that was from the norm.I guess that's what being different meant, and I was different. I was a freak. I was a monster. I was a beautiful girl, I heard myself say to myself as I continued my walk to the park. The closer I got to the park, the more I enjoyed the peace and quiet. No one bothered me, and I could just be myself."Just be yourself, just be yourself, just be yourself." I repeated to myself as I watched the ducks swim in the lake, the kids play football, and the bikers ride by.
When I got to the edge of the park, I stopped. Why did I stop? I don’t know.
