Scary is a heavy girl. Not because she's big, but because everything about her is heavy. Her eyes are heavy. Her skin is heavy. Hell, even her bones are heavy. You try carrying around a 50-pound backpack and tell me it's not heavy. I bet you can't do it for five minutes without getting tired.I bet you can't do it for five minutes without getting hungry.
That's how long she's been carrying around this damn backpack. It s the size of a small car, and she's been hauling it around since the beginning of the school year. Why? Because her parents think it makes her look cool. It doesn't. It makes her look like a freak.And a weirdo. And an ugly duckling. And a giant. And a burden. And a monster. And a disgusting sight to behold. "Stop," I said to myself. "Stop right now. You're being ridiculous."
But I can't stop. Not when every time I look in the mirror I see a different person.
