Chapter 1: Beginning
John Carter stared at the pocket watch resting in his palm, the tarnished silver surface reflecting the cluttered chaos of his living room. The ticking was steady, reassuring, yet today it seemed to whisper secrets only it knew. He turned it over, tracing the intricate engravings along the back - symbols he'd never noticed before, hidden beneath a thin layer of grime.
His grandfather left this pocket watch for him, he say it was a time travel device all he need to do to active it drop a drop of his blood on it to confirm his identity as Device only recognizes people of their bloodline .
John chuckled, "Right, because everyone gets a time-traveling pocket watch from their grandpa," he muttered, rolling his eyes.
But there was something about the watch, something that made him pause. He picked up a nearby letter opener, pricked his finger, and squeezed until a single drop of blood fell onto the watch face. The ticking stopped, then started again, faster, insistent. The symbols on the back began to glow, pulsing with an otherworldly light.
"Well, shit," John breathed, feeling a mix of excitement and fear coiling in his stomach.
He hear a voice are you my new master ? He was taken aback but he answered yes.
The voice replied I am your guide, I will help you understand how to use the device. The voice introduced it self as Tempus.
John shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts. "This can't be real," he muttered, but the pulsing light on the watch was impossible to ignore.
He picked up his phone, intending to call someone - anyone - to tell them about this, but paused. Who would believe him? He'd sound like a madman, Instead, he dropped the phone back onto the desk and ask Tempus what are rule of time travel .
Tempus replied Time travel is not as simple as stepping into a different era, John. There are rules, laws that govern its use. First, you can't travel with your Original Body you can only inhabit body of those already exiting past. Second, you cannot act out of character when you become past Person. Third, every trip has a cost, a toll on your physical and mental well-being. And finally, once you've returned to your own time, you must wait a full day before you can travel again.
John leaned back in his chair, absorbing this.
"So, let me get this straight," he said, rubbing his temples. "I can't be myself in the past, I have to possess someone else, and I can only go for a day at a time, once every twenty-four hours?"
"That's correct," Tempus replied, the voice echoing slightly in John's mind.
"And remember, any changes you make in the past could have unforeseen consequences in the future."
John sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Great, so no saving the world then?"
"Not exactly," Tempus said, a hint of amusement in its voice. "But you can certainly make a difference in smaller ways. Just be careful not to disrupt the timeline too much."
John nodded, an idea forming in his mind. "Alright, let's test this thing out. Can I go to... I don't know, the 1950s?"
"Of course," Tempus replied.
"But remember, you'll need to choose a vessel. Someone who exists in that time period."
John thought for a moment, then grinned. "How about Elvis Presley? I've always wanted to see what all the fuss was about."
There was a pause before Tempus responded, "Elvis is not an option. He is... unique. You must choose someone else."
John raised an eyebrow. "Unique? What does that mean?"
"It means," Tempus said, "that Elvis's timeline is... complex. It's best if you avoid him."
John shrugged. "Alright, alright. How about... Marilyn Monroe?
She's a bit too high-profile, isn't she?" John asked, leaning back in his chair, his eyes scanning the old movie posters adorning his walls.
"That would be... ill-advised," Tempus replied, a hint of dryness in its voice. "Try someone less... prominent."
John thought for a moment, then snapped his fingers. "Got it! How about James Dean? He's perfect. Rebels without a cause, right?"
There was a slight pause before Tempus responded, "James Dean is also... unavailable."
John blinked, surprised. "Unavailable?
What do you mean, unavailable?" John asked, his curiosity piqued. "Is he, like, off-limits or something?"
"Not exactly," Tempus replied, its voice measured. "Let's just say James Dean has... connections. To certain individuals who would not take kindly to his timeline being altered."
John whistled softly, impressed. "Sounds like he's got some powerful friends. Alright, no Elvis, no Marilyn, no James Dean. Who does that leave me with?"
"Someone more... ordinary," Tempus suggested.
"Someone whose life you can slip into without causing too many ripples in the timeline."
John considered this, his gaze drifting over the cluttered mess of his living room. His eyes landed on an old photograph tucked into the corner of a bookshelf - a snapshot of his grandfather as a young man, standing in front of a bustling 1920s city street.
"Wait a minute," John said, an idea striking him. "What about my grandfather? Could I... possess him, I guess?
See what his life was like when he was younger?"
There was a brief pause before Tempus responded, "You can travel to that time yes are you sure"
want to do that you can't change his life you know
John nodded, a determined look in his eyes. "I know. I just want to see what life was like for him back then. Maybe understand him a little better."
"Very well," Tempus said, its voice filled with a strange mix of resignation and understanding. "Remember, you will only be able to observe. You cannot act out of character or alter the timeline."
John nodded, eager to begin. "I understand.
Let's do this," John said, his heart pounding with anticipation. He set the pocket watch on the desk, the glowing symbols still pulsing softly. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and asked Tempus, "Okay, how do I..."
Before he could finish, a wave of dizziness washed over him. The room spun, colors blurred, and he felt like he was falling, tumbling through an endless void. He tried to scream, but no sound came out. Then, as suddenly as it had begun, everything stopped.
John opened his eyes, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
The world around him was no longer his cluttered living room, he looked around it look like a woman room. He look at himself in mirror, what he see is not his grandfather but his Grandmother, a memories come to him or now her today is the day his grandmother have date with his grandfather and became pregnant with his father . He was now in the body of his grandmother in 1920s.
He heard a knock at the door, he went to open it, there stood his grandfather, young and handsome, smiling at him, he mean her with a bouquet of flowers. John, now experiencing the world through his grandmother's body, felt a strange mix of emotions. He was seeing his grandfather in a new light, not as the stern, gruff man he remembered, but as a young, hopeful romantic.
"Good evening, Martha," his grandfather said, using his grandmother's name.
His voice was warm, filled with a youthful enthusiasm that John had never heard before. "You look radiant."
John, still adjusting to the strange sensation of inhabiting his grandmother's body, managed a shy smile. "Thank you, Henry." He chose his words carefully, trying to mimic the way he imagined his grandmother would speak. "Please, come in."
His grandfather stepped inside, looking around the small apartment with evident curiosity. "I must say, Martha, your place is quite charming.
Cozy, like you," Henry said, his eyes twinkling as he handed her the bouquet.
John, still getting used to the feel of his grandmother's body, blushed slightly at the compliment. "Thank you, Henry. I've tried to make it a home," he replied, taking the flowers and heading to the kitchen to find a vase.
Henry followed him, his gaze taking in the small, neat space. "You've done a wonderful job. It's warm, inviting. Like you," he repeated, his voice soft.
John felt a flutter in his chest, a strange mixture of joy and unease. He was experiencing his grandmother's emotions, her reactions to his grandfather's charm. It was both fascinating and disconcerting.
"Would you like some tea, Henry?" John asked, turning to face him. His grandfather's eyes met his, and John was struck by the intensity of the young man's gaze. It was like looking into a mirror, yet not. He saw the same determination, the same spark of adventure, but tempered by a vulnerability he'd never seen in his own reflection.
It was unnerving, yet intriguing.
Henry smiled, "That would be lovely, Martha. Thank you."
As John, now Martha, prepared the tea, he couldn't help but steal glances at his grandfather. The young Henry was a far cry from the stoic, reserved man he'd known. This Henry was animated, his hands gesturing as he spoke of his dreams, his passions. He was a man in love - with life, with Martha, with the promise of the future.
When Martha turned to hand him his cup, Henry reached out, his fingers brushing against hers.
A jolt ran through John, a sudden surge of emotion that wasn't his own. It was Martha's feelings, her reaction to Henry's touch. John felt his - her - heart race, a warmth spreading through him - her - like sunlight on a summer's day. He - she - quickly pulled away, setting the cup down with a clatter.
Henry looked at her, concern etched on his face. "Martha, are you alright?"
John, still reeling from the unexpected rush of emotions, nodded hurriedly. "Yes, yes, I'm fine. Just... I want to restroom for a bit I need to pee. I excused myself and went to the bathroom. I closed the door behind me and leaned against it, taking a deep breath. The emotions I'd just experienced were overwhelming - Martha's joy, her nervousness, her attraction to Henry. It was a lot to take in, especially since I was used to feeling... well, my own feelings.
I looked at myself in the mirror, trying to reconcile the image with the person I knew myself to be. It was strange, seeing my grandfather's eyes staring back at me from my grandmother's face. I splashed some water on my face, trying to cool down and gather my thoughts.
He ask Tempus why I am my grandmother not my grandfather, Tempus replied one thing I forgot to tell is can only possess female body in past, in past men have more opportunities and freedom than women so it's safer for you to be in female body in past.
John, still processing this revelation, took a deep breath and say to Tempus I can't have sex with my grandfather right?
Tempus replied yes you must, when you possess someone from past you must do what they did it that time, for this time going to date with your grandfather and having sex so your father can be born if you change that
Your time may experience changes or you may not be exist at all.
John felt a wave of nausea wash over him. The implications of Tempus's words were staggering. He was here, in his grandmother's body, on the night she conceived his father, and if he didn't... No, he couldn't think about that. He splashed more water on his face, steeling himself for what was to come.
He returned to the living room, where Henry was waiting patiently, sipping his tea. He looked up as John entered, his eyes filled with concern. "Are you sure you're alright, Martha?
You look a bit pale," Henry asked, his brow furrowed with worry.
John, still grappling with the weight of Tempus's revelation, managed a weak smile. "I'm fine, Henry. Just a bit... overwhelmed, I suppose."
Henry's expression softened, and he stood up, crossing the room to stand in front of her. "Martha, I must confess, I've been wanting to do this all evening," he said, his voice low and gentle.
Before John could react, Henry reached out, cupping her face in his hands, and leaned in to kiss her.
John, still taken aback by the suddenness of the action, and block him with her hand how about after end of date you know what i mean
Henry chuckled, "You're right, Martha. Let's not rush things. I want to make this evening special for you."
John, relieved, managed a smile. That means a lot."
Henry held out his arm, "Now, how about we finish our tea, and then I take you out for a walk? The night is beautiful, and I know just the place."
John nodded, taking Henry's arm as they walked out into the warm evening air. The streets were bustling with life, couples strolling hand in hand, children playing in the parks.
John think about it he can't make his father disappear but he can delay the time she must have sex long enough for time travel to active again and go back to his original time. He ask Henry to walk them to the park.
Henry agreed and they headed towards the park. John was enjoying the sights and sounds of the 1920s, the world was so different from what he was used to. The cars, the clothes, the music, it was all so alien and yet so fascinating.
As they walked, Henry talked about his dreams, his hopes, his plans for the future. He was a man with a vision, a man who wanted to make a difference in the world. John listened, captivated by the passion in Henry's voice.
The young man he knew as his grandfather was a dreamer, a romantic, a man with a fire burning within him. It was a side of Henry he'd never seen before, and it left him feeling both humbled and inspired.
As they have date together it's almost night Henry carry Martha in to hotel room as final, to delay time John ask Henry to bath before having sex, he agreed and have bath when he came out from bath room John said I will also wash myself the got into bathroom leaving Henry confuse as John as wash her body wait for Cooldown to end it was almost there when Henry knocked on the door asking what's taking so long John replied i am almost done please wait for few more minutes John waited until the watch's cooldown ended and then he use watch to return to his time.
He woke up in his living room back to his time, but he saw the changes it look like a Rich Lady room and he noticed he or she is not a man anymore she is now a Beautiful Half-Japanese girl with a elegant dress and expensive jewelry.
He looked at himself in the mirror, shock and confusion written all over his face. "What the hell happened?" he muttered, running a hand through his now long, silky black hair.
He heard a knock at the door, he went to open it, there stood a well-dressed butler, smiling at him. "Good evening, Miss Kaori," the man said, using a name John didn't recognize. "You look stunning, as always."
John, still trying to process the drastic changes in his appearance and surroundings, managed a polite smile. "Thank you...
The man said Miss dinner is almost ready your father and mother request you to come to dinner room in half hour, be remember to wear your Kimono then he bow and left.
John was left standing there, staring at the closed door, his mind racing. Kaori? Dinner with his parents? He had no idea what was going on, but he knew he needed to figure it out - and fast.
He turned back to the mirror, examining his new reflection. The girl staring back at him was beautiful, with high cheekbones, almond-shaped eyes, and long, dark hair that cascaded down her back in loose waves. She was dressed in an elegant, silk kimono, adorned with intricate patterns and delicate embroidery.
She recognized the style, the craftsmanship - it was Japanese, and it was expensive. She turned away from the mirror, her mind racing. She needed answers, and she needed them fast.
She heard Tempus's voice in her mind, "John, or should I say, Kaori, you seem to have some questions."
"Some questions?" John retorted, his voice echoing in his mind. "That's an understatement. What happened? Why am I... like this? And who are these people?"
Tempus paused before responding, "It appears you've made some changes to the timeline, John.
Unintended, I'm sure, but significant nonetheless."
John's grip tightened on the edge of the vanity, his knuckles turning white. "Changes? What kind of changes? And why do I look like... this?" he demanded, gesturing to his reflection.
"Well," Tempus began, its voice measured, "You delayed your grandfather's meeting with your grandmother, which caused a ripple effect through time. Your father was born as a Girl, and as a result, your Father now a girl never Marry your mother and instead Marry a Rich Traditional Japanese man, so as result You are not a white man and US citizen in this timeline but instead Half Japanese girl who is Japanese citizen living in Tokyo."
John blinked, trying to absorb this. "So, let me get this straight. Because I delayed my grandparents' date, my dad was born a girl, never married my mom, and instead married a rich Japanese guy, making me... He gestured to his reflection again, still struggling to reconcile the image with his own sense of self.
"That's correct," Tempus replied.
John sighed, running a hand through his long hair. "Great. Just great. So, what do I do now? I can't exactly go to dinner looking like...
this," John said, gesturing to his reflection again, still struggling to reconcile the image with his own sense of self.
"Well," Tempus replied, "You have two options. You can either embrace your new identity and try to navigate this unfamiliar world, or you can use the pocket watch to erase your memories of original timeline." Tempus explained.
I don't want to erase my memories it's not possible to change timeline back to original timeline? John asked to Tempus.
"Unfortunately, no," Tempus replied, its voice filled with a mix of regret and understanding. "last time Change you made has turn your father into a girl but that is being lucky if you try to change again your father may not be born at all" Tempus said.
John sighed, the weight of his actions settling heavily on his shoulders. He looked at his reflection again, the image of the beautiful, elegant girl staring back at him still foreign and unsettling. But he couldn't deny the spark of curiosity burning within him. This was a chance to experience a completely different life, to see the world through a new set of eyes.
John said what will happen if I choose to embrace this life , Tempus said
"Well, Kaori, you'll have to navigate the expectations and norms of 1950s Japan. It won't be easy, but it will be an experience unlike any other. You'll have wealth, status, but also limitations and constraints that come with being a woman in that time and place."
John thought about it, the challenge of it all. He'd always been curious, always craved adventure. This was an opportunity to live a life entirely different from his own.
"Alright," he said, determination in his voice. "I'll do it.
Tempus said I will fuse you with living experience of Kaori, her skills, her manner, her way of speaking first.
Kaori feel her experiences how she was taught about what is expected of a traditional Japanese woman, tea ceremony, how to dress kimono, how to speak elegantly, how to walk and act with elegant and grace
.
John absorbed all these new sensations, these new experiences, these new ways of being. He felt a strange disconnect, yet also a strange harmony. This was Kaori's life, her experiences, her skills, but it was his mind, his consciousness, navigating this new reality.
He stood up, his - her - body moving with a natural grace he'd never possessed as John Carter. He walked over to the wardrobe, his fingers trailing over the exquisite fabrics, the intricate embroidery. He selected a kimono, a deep shade of blue with white cherry blossoms, and began to dress.
The silk slid over his skin like a whisper, cool and smooth. He wrapped the obi around his waist, tying it with practiced ease, a skill Kaori had learned as a child. He slipped on tabi socks and zori sandals, then turned to the mirror.
The man staring back at him was gone, replaced by a woman of grace and elegance. He - she - looked every inch the traditional Japanese lady, her long hair swept up into an intricate bun, her makeup subtle yet flawless. She looked... beautiful. And he felt a strange sense of pride, of accomplishment, at having mastered this art.
She felt memories of Kaori suppress memories of John, but she felt no sadness in it she still remember her life as John but she is now Kaori she should act like Kaori beside they are not erased .
Kaori, she reminded herself, as she took a deep breath and stepped out of her room. The house was quiet, the air filled with the scent of incense and the faint tinkling of a distant melody played on a koto. She made her way to the dining room, her zori sandals making soft, shuffling sounds on the tatami mats.
As she entered the room, two pairs of eyes turned to her. Her father, a stern-looking man with a neatly trimmed mustache, sat at the head of the low table, his hands folded in his lap.
Beside him, her mother, a woman of quiet elegance, offered Kaori a warm smile. "Ah, Kaori-chan, there you are," she said, her voice soft and melodic. "We were beginning to wonder if you'd gotten lost in your wardrobe."
Kaori bowed slightly, her hands pressed together in a respectful greeting. "I apologize for my tardiness, Mother. I wanted to ensure I was properly attired for tonight's dinner."
Her father cleared his throat, his gaze appraising. "You look... acceptable, Kaori.
You've learned well from the geishas of our employ," he said, his tone approving yet distant. "Please, sit. We have much to discuss."
Kaori glided over to the table, lowering herself onto the cushioned floor with practiced ease. She arranged her kimono around her, making sure the hem didn't bunch up beneath her. As she did so, she stole a glance at her parents, taking in their formal attire.
Her mother wore a beautiful silk kimono in shades of green and gold, her hair intricately styled with ornate hairpins.
Her father, ever the traditionalist, was dressed in a formal montsuki haori and hakama, the crisp, pristine white of his shirt contrasting sharply with the deep, almost black, hue of his suit.
"So, Kaori," her father began, his eyes narrowing slightly as he studied her, "Your mother and I have been discussing your future."
Kaori felt a flutter of unease in her stomach. This was a conversation she'd been dreading, ever since she'd started to notice the subtle changes in her parents' behavior, the way they'd begun to treat her with a mixture of pride and wariness.
She knew what was coming, and yet, she found herself bracing for the impact nonetheless.
"Yes, Father?" she replied, her voice steady despite the turmoil within her. She kept her hands folded in her lap, her back straight, her eyes downcast. She was Kaori, daughter of the prestigious Nakamura family, and she knew her place.
Her father cleared his throat, his gaze never leaving her. "Your mother and I have decided that it's time for you to be married."
There it was. The words she'd been expecting, yet still dreading. She felt a pang of something - sadness? Regret?
No, not quite. It was more like a sense of loss, a realization that the life she'd known as John Carter was slipping further away with each passing moment. But she also felt a spark of curiosity, a flicker of excitement at the prospect of this new path her life was taking.
"Married, Father?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I'm not even... I mean, I haven't even-"
Her father waved a dismissive hand, cutting her off mid-sentence. "Age is but a number, Kaori.
You are of marriageable age, and it is high time you fulfilled your duties," her father said, his tone brooking no argument. "We have found a suitable match for you. A person of good standing, with a respected family name and considerable wealth."
Kaori felt a lump form in her throat. She had always known this day would come, but she had hoped for more time. Time to explore, to learn, to understand the world beyond the confines of her family's estate. But it seemed fate - or rather, her father - had other plans.
"And who is this...suitable match, Father?" Kaori asked, her voice barely above a whisper. She kept her eyes downcast, her hands folded neatly in her lap, the picture of demure obedience. But inside, her mind was racing, a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions she dared not show on her face.
Her father leaned back slightly, his expression softening ever so slightly. "Her name is Hiroshi Tanaka. She is the youngest Daughter of the Tanaka family, owners of the largest textile mill in Osaka.
Her family is one of the wealthiest and most influential in Japan, and they have long been friends with ours. Hiroshi is a delicate flower, sheltered and naive, but her heart is pure, and her spirit is strong. I believe she will make you a fine wife, Kaori."
Kaori felt a chill run down her spine at the mention of Hiroshi's name. She had heard whispers of the Tanaka family's only daughter, a girl who was said to be as beautiful as a spring cherry blossom and as delicate as a porcelain doll. But Kaori had never met her, had never even seen her face.
And now, she was to be her wife. The thought sent a shiver down Kaori's spine, a mix of trepidation and curiosity.
"And when is this... marriage to take place?" Kaori asked, her voice steadier than she felt.
Her father's expression hardened, his eyes narrowing slightly. "In one month's time. The Tanaka family has agreed to the union, and the betrothal ceremony will take place next week. Afterwards, you will begin your preparations for the wedding."
One month. Kaori's mind raced.
That was all the time she had to prepare for this life-altering event. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for what was to come. "I understand, Father. I will do my best to honor our family name and make this union a successful one."
Her mother, who had been silent until now, spoke up, her voice soft yet firm. "Kaori, I know this is not what you expected, but remember, a good marriage is built on mutual respect and understanding.
Hiroshi may be young and inexperienced, but she comes from a good family, and together, you two can create a loving home," her mother said, her eyes filled with a quiet wisdom.
Kaori nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "You're right, Mother. I will give this marriage my best effort. I promise."
Her father seemed satisfied with her response, his expression softening. "Very well. Now, let us enjoy our dinner. We have much to celebrate."
The rest of the meal passed in a blur of polite conversation and delicious food.
Kaori look at her mother she look similar to her past timeline male self , she try to imagine how she would look like if she was born female in that timeline, she realize she would look exactly like her mother, she find it strange that she can look like her mother but she is not her mother, she is her father in this timeline.
After dinner, Kaori excused herself and retired to her room. She needed time to process, to think, to understand this new life she was living. She undressed, slipping out of her kimono and into a simple cotton yukata, then sat down at her vanity.
For a moment, she just stared at her reflection, trying to reconcile the image of the elegant Japanese woman with the memories of the adventurous American man she once was. She picked up her hairbrush, running it through her long, silky hair, the rhythmic motion soothing her frazzled nerves.
"You know, Kaori, it's not every day a girl gets engaged," a familiar voice said, breaking the silence. Tempus, her ever-present companion, had taken the form of a small, intricately carved wooden fox perched on the edge of her vanity.
Its eyes, two tiny rubies, gleamed in the soft light of the room.
Kaori looked at her reflection, then at Tempus, a wry smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "Well, Tempus, I suppose you're right. It's not every day a girl gets engaged. Especially to someone she's never met."
Tempus chuckled, a soft, melodic sound that seemed to fill the room. "Indeed, Kaori. It seems your life has taken a rather unexpected turn."
Kaori sighed, setting the hairbrush down and turning to face Tempus.
What do you know about Hiroshi Tanaka how it's possible that my parents will marry off me to a girl although it's better than being marry off to a man. I am a woman now but I am still not attracted to men Kaori asked to Tempus.
Tempus tilted its head, its ruby eyes gleaming with a mix of amusement and understanding. "Ah, Kaori, always the curious one. Well, let me enlighten you. In this timeline, the Tanaka family has a... unique tradition. They believe in arranging marriages between two women of high social standing, as a way to maintain and strengthen their family's influence and wealth.
It's not about love or attraction in the traditional sense, but rather a strategic alliance. Hiroshi Tanaka, being the only daughter of the wealthy and influential Tanaka family, is expected to follow this tradition."
Kaori frowned, her mind racing. "So, Hiroshi and I... we're not getting married because we love each other? It's just a business arrangement?"
Tempus nodded. "Precisely. And it's not uncommon in this time period, especially among the upper class.
Kaori, you must understand that your role in this marriage is not just to be a wife, but to be a partner, a confidante, a hostess. You will manage the household, entertain guests, and support Hiroshi in her endeavors."
Kaori nodded, absorbing this new information. She understood the expectations placed upon her, the responsibilities that came with her new identity. But she also felt a spark of defiance, a desire to forge her own path within these constraints.
"And what about Hiroshi? What are her expectations, her desires?"
Kaori asked, her curiosity piqued. "I mean, I'm supposed to be her wife, but I don't even know what she looks like, what she likes, what she wants from this marriage."
Tempus leaned back, its tail swishing thoughtfully. "Hiroshi Tanaka, from what I've gathered, is a young woman of nineteen, with a keen interest in art and literature. She's been sheltered, yes, but she's not without her own dreams and aspirations. She wants to travel, to see the world, to experience life beyond the confines of her family's estate, and Lucky for her She is a Lesbian and like Woman so she will not have to pretend to be attracted to men. She sees this marriage as an opportunity to gain some freedom, to live a life less confined by tradition and expectation.
Kaori felt a pang of sympathy for Hiroshi. She understood the feeling of being trapped, of being expected to live a life that wasn't truly yours. She remembered the weight of her own expectations, the pressure to live up to her grandfather's legacy, to be the man he had always wanted her to be. And now, here she was, a woman in a different time, with different expectations, but the feeling of being trapped was all too familiar.
But after Her Marriage with Hiroshi Tanaka she will have more freedom and as Bonus she will have a beautiful wife, in past timeline she doesn't even have chance to hold hand with a girl now she is going to free from being single and will have a beautiful wife, Kaori think about it and smile.
Kaori spent the next few days preparing for the betrothal ceremony. She was fitted for a new kimono, a intricate design of golden phoenixes on a deep red background, and taught the proper way to adorn herself with the traditional hair ornaments and makeup. She practiced her curtsies and bows, her posture and poise, until she moved with the grace and elegance expected of a woman of her stature.
She was Kaori Nakamura, daughter of a wealthy and influential family, and she would not embarrass them on this important day.
The morning of the betrothal ceremony arrived, and Kaori was a bundle of nerves. She stared at her reflection in the mirror, taking in the elaborate hairstyle, the intricate makeup, the beautiful kimono. She was dressed to impress, but she felt anything but impressive. She was a fraud, a man playing dress-up in a woman's body, and the weight of that deception sat heavy on her shoulders.
