She swallowed a sudden surge of excitement at the stranger's nearness.
"Well, Meghan, it looks like you and Star here have quite the connection," Jake grinned, his eyes dancing with mischief.
Meghan's gaze shifted between Jake, the horse she'd come to think of as Star, and the woman who stood at his side, silently observing them.
"My girlfriend, Aimee," Jake gestured towards her, a warmth shining from his eyes.
