Chapter 1: Introduction
I glanced down at my watch and sighed. After three hours in a packed, stuffy bus, I was finally free. I slid my phone out of my pocket and shot a message to Silas.
Me: Bussed it & made it out of the traffic alive! See you soon!
I looked around, inhaling the sweet, green smell of grass mixed with the earthy scent of forest soil. It was good to feel alive again.
