Chapter 2: conversations with the hero's party

As James uttered those words, the air around him seemed to tremble with anticipation, as though even nature itself held its breath in anticipation of the heroes' response. The group before him turned their heads towards him, their expressions were mix of confusion and suspicion, but aside from the others, the only person james is concerned about... was arios due to his hatred towards rein was thicker than blood and he had to be careful of mentioning rein otherwise it would only further arios's wrath. so james took a moment and reached into his pack then offered each of them some fruits he gathered "if you need food this is all i got, but please take it." james said as he handed them out to each member of the hero's party.

As James extended his hand, offering the fruits he had gathered, the atmosphere around them seemed to shift. A tense silence settled over the heroes' party, their eyes flickering with a mixture of gratitude and suspicion. Each fruit glimmered in the sun's golden embrace, their vibrant colors mirroring the range of emotions coursing through their veins.

As the three members of the hero's party stood there, their expressions softened at James' offer of food. Aggath, a bald man with a sturdy build, his silver knight armor reflecting the sunlight in glimmers of brilliance, accepted the fruit with a grateful nod. His calloused hands enveloped the fruit, his grip firm yet gentle, as if he held something precious and fragile. "we really appreciate this very much young man, i'm sure you are doing your part for all of us here." aggath said to james. leanne just smirked "well i guess for once someone knows how to respect the hero's party, still we've already wasted enough time in this..." but before leanne could finish her sentence, James suddenly interrupted her "i be careful of what you say cause some people might find it offensive." James explains as leanne scoffed at him but reluctantly nodded her head. James then looked to Mina as he handed her the fruit he offers her "i'm assuming that you are a member of a church?" James asked Mina as she nodded her head "you are correct kind sir... and we thank you for your generous offering to the hero's party, god will reward you." mina said as james smiled at her. james then gave mina a small bag of gold coins "here milady, its not much but... in case you return to your church... please take it for the poor and homeless." James asked as he handed Mina the small bag of gold coins.

Mina's eyes widened in surprise as James handed her the small bag of gold coins. The weight of the bag felt substantial in her delicate hands, and she could not help but gasp at the sheer generosity that emanated from this stranger. Every coin glimmered with a brilliance that rivaled the radiance of the sun above, and Mina's heart swelled with gratitude at such a selfless act. Mina just smiled happily as if god is answering her prayers "oh my... this is very comforting of you kind sir... bless you." Mina said thankfully. James just smiled as he chuckled "well personally i was only saving those coins for a rainy day." James said with amusement. Arios Orlando however stood there silent as he reluctantly accepted the food James was offering while trying to stay calm "very well we the hero's party will humbly accept your generous offer on behalf of the entire party." arios said while trying to keep his anger under control. James however can somehow tell that arios is still trying to mask his true colors from everyone and the members of his group. although it seems that Mina, leanne and aggath are unaware that arios was the one responsible for the demon to appear and attack horizon. James gave arios a pretend smile "well i thought it be wise to do some good for a while, but the reason i came to this city... is because i heard rumors that a beast tamer was living here, he's an old friend of mine since i was a child." James said as the hero's party stood there in silence as they

As James stood there, his gaze shifted from one member of the heroes' party to another, his eyes like curious flames flickering with intrigue and a hint of wariness. The silence that hung in the air was almost tangible, each passing second with unspoken words and hidden intentions.

this made James nervous and was waiting for them to make the next move but then aggath approached James and stared at him until aggath spoke "who is this old friend of yours?" aggath asked, James felt nervous as he took a moment to speak "his name is rein shroud, we both lived in the same village together... well until me and my folks went on a trip to a city in the hills..." James explained.

As James uttered the name "Rein Shroud," he could sense a shift in the atmosphere surrounding the heroes' party. The air seemed to grow heavy with tension, as if holding its breath, waiting for their response. Aggath's eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze fixed upon James with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. Arios Orlando, the former hero, remained silent, his features a mask of barely concealed anger and resentment. James spoke nervously "um... did i say something wrong?" James asked them.
