Chapter 3: Rising Action
He cried out in agony, unable to comprehend what was happening to him. One of the aliens murmured soothing words in its native tongue, stroking his hair back from his forehead. Despite the kindness in its gesture, Tom couldn't help but feel terrified by the invasive probing of its fingers.
A warm, sticky fluid began to fill his abdomen, spreading outward from the point of entry until it reached every corner of his body. He could feel it pooling within him, suffusing his cells with an unknown energy.
It was unlike anything he had ever experienced before - a mixture of pleasure and pain that left him utterly confused. The grey aliens watched intently as the substance flowed through his veins, their expressions unreadable behind their featureless faces.
One of them reached out to stroke his cheek, and Tom flinched involuntarily at the touch. Even though they seemed to mean him no harm, he couldn't shake the sense of unease that settled over him like a heavy cloak.
