Chapter 2: Building Tension

Steven stood in front of their massive floor-to-ceiling window, gazing out at the sprawling cityscape below. The late afternoon sun cast a warm golden hue over the concrete jungle, making the glass and steel skyscrapers gleam like precious metals. The breeze from the open window ruffled his short brown hair, carrying with it the scent of distant rain and the distant hum of traffic.

His reflection stared back at him, a startling contrast to the cityscape behind him. His once lean, masculine body was beginning to soften, rounding out in places it never had before.

The subtle curve of his hips was more pronounced, and he could swear he saw the beginnings of a swell in his chest. He brought a hand up, pressing it against the glass, feeling the coolness seep into his skin.

Susan came up behind him, her breath warm on his ear. "You know, Steven, I've always found the female form to be incredibly beautiful. The curves, the softness... there's a power in it that's often overlooked."

Steven turned to face her, his eyes searching hers. "Susan, what have you done to me?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

The cityscape reflected in the glass behind him seemed to blur and distort with his emotions.

Susan's blue eyes were intense, her gaze steady. "I’ve given you a chance to experience something extraordinary, Steven. A chance to understand the world in a whole new way."

Steven shook his head, his heart pounding in his chest. "But why? Why me?"

Susan reached up, her hand gently cupping his cheek. "Because you’re the perfect candidate. Intelligent, open-minded, and willing to take risks. Plus, you’re the love of my life.

I wanted to share this journey with you." Her voice was soft, almost confessional.

Steven’s heart ached at her words. He loved her, but this was all so sudden, so overwhelming. He needed time to process, to understand. "Susan, I... I need to think," he said, stepping back from her touch. "This is a lot to take in."

Susan nodded, her expression softening. "Of course. Take all the time you need. But promise me you’ll keep an open mind."

Steven hesitated, then nodded.

"Okay, I promise. I'll keep an open mind."

Susan smiled, her shoulders relaxing. "Good. Now, I have a meeting with the board this morning. I'll be home late. Don't wait up."

She leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to his lips before grabbing her bag and coat. Steven watched her go, the scent of her perfume lingering in the air. He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself as he looked back out at the cityscape.

As the day wore on, Steven found it hard to focus on his work. His mind was consumed by Susan's revelation.

He tried to concentrate on the lines of code on his screen, but the words blurred together, forming no coherent meaning. He let out a sigh, leaning back in his chair and rubbing his temples.

A knock at the door startled him. "Come in," he called out, his voice sounding distant even to his own ears.

The door creaked open, revealing a young intern from his team, holding a stack of printouts. "Hey, Steven," she said, pushing her glasses up her nose. "I was going through the latest updates and thought you'd want to see this."

Steven forced a smile, taking the printouts from her.

"Thanks, Emma. I appreciate it."

She smiled back, her eyes scanning the room briefly before she added, "No problem. Oh, and I heard you're going to be taking some time off soon? Congratulations!"

Steven blinked, taken aback. "Time off? I didn't mention anything about taking time off."

Emma's cheeks flushed slightly. "Oh, sorry. I must have misunderstood. Susan mentioned it to me yesterday. Something about a... a personal project she wanted you to help with?"

Steven's stomach churned as he realized Susan had been dropping hints. He managed a tight smile. "Right.

Well, thank you for dropping by, Emma," Steven said, his voice steady despite the turmoil inside him. He watched as she closed the door behind her, leaving him alone with his thoughts once again.

He set the printouts aside, his mind racing. Susan was already spreading word about his pseudo-sabbatical? It was still so new, so uncertain. He didn't know how to feel about it, let alone explain it to others.

He stood up, pacing the length of his office. His reflection in the window caught his eye again. He stopped, his breath fogging up the glass as he stared at his changing body.

The subtle curve of his hips, the softening of his shoulders, the budding swell of his chest—it was all so surreal. He reached out, touching the glass, and imagined Susan's words echoing in his mind. The power in softness, the extraordinary journey...

He turned away from the window, his pacing leading him to the small bar cart in the corner of his office. He poured himself a glass of whiskey, the amber liquid swirling in the crystal tumbler as he took a sip. The liquid burned a path down his throat, grounding him momentarily.

His phone buzzed on his desk, a message from Susan.

He picked it up, his heart pounding as he read her words.

**Susan:** Dinner reservations for tonight? Thought it'd be good to talk. xx

Steven hesitated before typing a response.

**Steven:** Sounds good. Looking forward to it.

He set the phone down, taking another sip of whiskey. The liquid warmth did little to soothe the storm of emotions inside him. He needed to sort out his thoughts, to find some semblance of clarity before their dinner date.

He decided to take a walk, to clear his head. The city was a blur of sounds and colors as he stepped out onto the bustling sidewalk.

The sun had begun to set, casting long shadows and a soft glow over the busy streets. Steven walked briskly, trying to outpace his jumbled thoughts.

He found himself in a quieter part of the city, the noise of traffic and chatter fading into the background. He stopped at a small park, the green oasis a sharp contrast to the urban jungle surrounding it. He took a deep breath, the fresh air filling his lungs.

As he sat down on a bench, he couldn't help but notice the way his body reacted to the simple action. The softness of his ass pressed against the hard wood, the sensation a strange mix of comfort and sensitivity.

He shifted, trying to get comfortable, but the new curves seemed to demand a different set of movements. He sighed, running a hand through his hair, his fingers catching on the slight buds of his nipples as he did.

The unexpected surge of pleasure made him gasp, his hips bucking instinctively against the bench. He looked around, his heart pounding, feeling a strange mix of excitement and embarrassment. No one seemed to have noticed, but he could still feel the echo of that sensation, like a flame igniting deep within him.

He stood up, the blood rushing to his head, and made his way back to the apartment. He needed to get laid.
