Chapter 6: Conflict
As Subaru and Otto argued, their voices rising in a cacophony of accusation and defense, the tension crackled like electricity in the air. The fine china on the tables rattled in protest, disturbed by the intensity of their raised voices.
"How could you betray me like this?" Otto shouted, his face contorted with rage. His green eyes, usually sparkling with warmth and kindness, were now filled with icy hatred. His hands balled into fists, knuckles whitening beneath the strain.
"I'm done playing games," Otto spat, venom dripping from every syllable. "I deserve answers, and I demand respect."
Subaru's eyes widened, his heart pounding wildly in his chest. "Otto, please," he pleaded, stepping forward to appease his friend. "I know you're upset, but let's talk calmly about this."
Frederica's eyes flashed defiance, her jaw set firm.
"You know what? Otto, I never loved you, I entertained you only because I was lonely.''
Frederica's declaration echoed ominously in the dimly lit chamber, sending chills down Subaru's spine. The air was thick with tension, palpable waves of hostility threatening to erupt like a volcano.
"No," Otto croaked, his voice cracking with anguish. "That can't be true."
Frederica shrugged dismissively, her sharp fangs flashing menacingly in the shadows. "What can I say?
" Frederica shrugged coolly, her fangs gleaming in the dim light. "You're just not my type."
"You're joking, right?" Otto snapped, his voice strained. "After all these months, you're telling me you never meant a thing by it?"
"What do you expect?" Frederica retorted, her eyes flashing dangerously. "I told you from the start that I only wanted to pass the time."
Subaru watched their exchange with a sinking feeling in his gut.
