Chapter 1: The First Taste of Submission
The overhead lights bathed the operating room in unforgiving white, bleaching the stainless steel tables and instruments into sharp relief. The air hummed with machinery and carried the sharp, clean sting of antiseptic, a smell Daniel usually found comforting. Tonight, it felt charged, almost electric. Across the sterile field, Kennedy lay on the gurney, draped not in surgical blue, but in a thin hospital gown, her fiery red hair fanned out against the pillow like spilled wine. Her eyes, wide and impossibly green, tracked Reece’s every move as he leaned close.
"You’re going to be such a good girl for us, aren’t you?" Reece murmured, his voice a low thrum beneath the ambient noise. His fingers, gloved in sterile latex, traced the delicate line of her jaw. The touch was feather-light, almost clinical, yet it sent a visible tremor through Kennedy. Her lips parted slightly, catching the harsh light, anticipation pulling them into a faint, expectant curve.
Daniel watched, a familiar grin tugging at his own lips. Dark curls brushed his forehead as he prepped the IV line, his movements precise, ingrained from years of practice. Athletic build honed rowing crew, now bent to this… unconventional task. He flicked the clear plastic tubing with a practiced snap, watching the saline bubble chase itself upward. "Let’s see how deep you can take us, Ken," he whispered, leaning in beside Reece. His tone was playful, mischievous, but his gaze held hers, sharp and assessing. It wasn’t just about the sedation.
Kennedy’s breath hitched. "Always deeper for you two," she breathed out, her voice raspy. A flush crept up her neck, visible even under the glare. Her gaze darted between them – Reece’s focused intensity, Daniel’s boyish spark. "Just… tell me I’m doing okay? That I’m good?"
Reece’s gloved thumb brushed the corner of her mouth. "You’re perfect," he stated, his usual professional reserve momentarily eclipsed by something warmer, darker. "Exactly where you need to be." He glanced at Daniel, a silent signal passing between them. Years of working in tandem, anticipating crises, now channeled into this shared, illicit focus.
Daniel nodded, his grin widening just a fraction. He swabbed the inside of Kennedy’s elbow with cool alcohol, the sharp scent briefly overpowering the antiseptic air. Her skin was smooth, warm beneath his touch. "Little sting coming, Ken," he warned, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial murmur. "Just breathe. Focus on Reece." He slid the needle in with swift, confident ease. Kennedy gasped softly, her eyes fluttering shut for a second before snapping back open, locked onto Reece’s face.
"Look at me," Reece commanded softly, his free hand cupping her cheek again, forcing her attention back to him. His blonde hair gleamed almost platinum under the lights, his charming grin replaced by an unsettlingly intense focus. "Just me. Only me." His thumb stroked her cheekbone. "You want this, don’t you? You want to go under for us?"
"Yes," Kennedy whispered, the word thick with desire and something else – a raw need for validation that vibrated in the sterile air. "Please. Make me good. Make me yours."
Daniel depressed the plunger slowly, watching the clear fluid travel down the line. He felt the familiar, almost imperceptible tremor run through Kennedy’s arm as the sedative entered her bloodstream. Her eyelids grew heavy, fighting the pull. Her gaze remained fixed on Reece, a mixture of surrender and defiance swimming in those green depths.
"Shh," Reece soothed, his voice a low vibration now, intimate against the clinical backdrop. "Easy. Just let go. We’ve got you. We’re right here." His fingers tightened slightly on her jaw, a possessive anchor. "Be our good girl now. Drift."
Kennedy’s breathing deepened, slowed. Her hand, resting on the gurney rail, went slack. The fierce intelligence, the bold mischief that usually animated her features, began to soften, blurring at the edges. A sigh escaped her lips, long and slow. Her eyes finally lost their sharp focus on Reece, the pupils dilating slightly.
Daniel watched the monitor above her head. Heart rate steady, oxygen saturation holding strong. Textbook. He met Reece’s gaze over Kennedy’s drifting form. Reece’s expression was unreadable for a moment – a flicker of professional detachment battling with the primal energy of the shared control they now exerted. Then, a slow, predatory smile spread across Reece's face, echoing Daniel’s own suppressed thrill.
"See?" Daniel murmured, his voice barely audible over the ventilator’s rhythmic whisper. He tapped the IV bag gently. "Told you she’d go down smooth." He leaned closer to Kennedy’s ear, his breath stirring a strand of her vibrant hair. "You're doing so good, Ken. Perfect."
Her eyelids fluttered, a faint moan catching in her throat. Not pain. Something else entirely. A sound of profound release.
Reece shifted his stance, his hand sliding from her jaw down to rest possessively on her shoulder, his touch burning through the thin gown. He watched the subtle changes in her face as the drugs pulled her deeper into unconsciousness – the slackening muscles, the utter vulnerability. "Okay," he breathed, the word loaded with dark anticipation. His eyes, glittering under the surgical lights, locked onto Daniel’s again. "She’s under."
The words hung in the sterile air, thick as the scent of betadine. "She’s under." Reece’s voice was low, stripped of its usual professional cadence, replaced by a raw, simmering intensity. He didn’t move his hand from Kennedy’s shoulder. Her chest rose and fell in the deep, rhythmic pattern of induced sleep, the ventilator sighing softly in counterpoint. The vibrant red of her hair seemed almost obscene against the bleached-white pillowcase, a splash of defiant life in the temple of controlled oblivion.
Daniel watched the steady blip on the cardiac monitor, a green line etching the proof of her surrender. Textbook perfect. A familiar professional pride warred with the illicit thrill coiling hot in his gut. He stepped closer to the gurney, the rubber soles of his shoes whispering against the linoleum. "Vitals are rock solid," he murmured, his gaze drifting from the screen down Kennedy’s still form. The thin hospital gown did little to conceal the slender lines of her body, the curve of her hip beneath the sheet. "Told you she’d be perfect."
Reece finally tore his eyes away from Kennedy’s face, the slackness of her jaw, the utter vulnerability etched there. He looked at Daniel, his blue eyes holding a predatory gleam that was entirely new. A slow, dangerous smile spread across his face, erasing the last vestiges of the conscientious anesthesiologist. "Yeah," he breathed, the word more a vibration than a sound. "Perfect." His hand slid from her shoulder, gloved fingers tracing a slow, deliberate path down her arm, over the thin fabric covering her ribs, coming to rest possessively low on her abdomen. His thumb brushed the edge of the gown where it met the sheet.
Daniel felt his own breath catch. The air crackled between them, heavy with unspoken intent. The sterile field felt less like a boundary and more like a stage. He reached out, not towards Kennedy, but towards Reece. His gloved hand closed over Reece’s wrist where it rested on Kennedy, feeling the tension coiled there, the muscle beneath the scrub fabric. "Easy, tiger," Daniel murmured, a playful edge in his voice that couldn't quite mask the hunger underneath. "We’ve got all the time we need. She’s not going anywhere." He gave Reece’s wrist a slight squeeze, a silent acknowledgment of the shared transgression.
Kennedy moaned softly, a low, guttural sound in the back of her throat. Her eyelids fluttered, a brief, drugged rebellion against the nothingness. Her head lolled slightly to the side on the pillow. Her lips, faintly chapped, parted.
"Shhh," Reece soothed, his voice dropping to a velvet whisper aimed at her, though his eyes never left Daniel’s. His free hand came up, brushing a stray strand of fiery hair from her forehead with surprising tenderness. The contrast – the gentle touch on her brow, the possessive claim, low on her body, the predatory look fixed on his partner – was electric. "Just sleep, Ken. Be good. We’re right here." He leaned down, his lips almost brushing her ear. "You feel so good like this. So ours."
Daniel watched, mesmerized. Reece usually played the straight man, the voice of reason. Seeing this unleashed intensity, this raw ownership radiating from him, was intoxicating. Daniel’s own playful charm felt suddenly insufficient, a shallow mask over a deeper, darker need awakened by the sight of Kennedy utterly yielded and Reece utterly consumed. He moved around the foot of the gurney, closing the small distance until he stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Reece, both of them looking down at their shared prize. The overhead lights threw their elongated shadows over Kennedy’s unconscious form.
Reece finally shifted his gaze back to Kennedy. His hand, still resting low on her abdomen, flexed slightly. The silence stretched, thick with anticipation, broken only by the hum of the ventilator and the soft beep of the monitors. Daniel could feel the heat radiating off Reece, smell the faint, clean sweat beneath the sterile scent.
Reece drew in a slow, deliberate breath. Then, with a gaze locked onto Kennedy’s parted lips, his free hand moved. Not towards her. Towards himself. The sound was shockingly loud in the hushed room: the sharp, metallic rasp of a zipper parting. He hooked his thumb into the waistband of his pale blue scrubs beneath the untied gown and pulled the zipper down, the sound grating against the sterile quiet, exposing a dark line of fabric beneath.
The rasp of Reece’s zipper echoed like a gunshot in the hushed sterility. Daniel watched, pulse hammering against his ribs, as the pale blue fabric parted, revealing the dark waistband beneath. Reece’s gaze, molten and fixed on Kennedy’s slack mouth, didn’t waver. His hand remained possessively low on her abdomen, a stark claim beneath the thin gown.
Daniel moved. Not towards Kennedy’s face, not towards the exposed line at Reece’s hips. He circled the gurney silently, his own breath shallow. The ventilator sighed. Kennedy’s bare feet protruded from the end of the sheet, pale against the starched white linen, toes relaxed, soles soft and vulnerable. He’d prepped her IV there earlier, swabbing the cool skin with alcohol. Now, the scent of antiseptic lingered faintly.
He knelt. The cool linoleum pressed through his scrubs. He didn’t look up at Reece, didn’t break the charged silence. His focus narrowed to the curve of her arch, the faint dusting of freckles near her heel. He leaned forward, the harsh overhead light bleaching the color from her skin.
His tongue touched the ball of her foot first. A tentative, warm swipe. The taste was clean skin, faint salt, the ghost of antiseptic. Soft. Incredibly soft. He heard Reece’s sharp intake of breath above him.
Daniel closed his eyes, leaning into it. He traced the arch with the flat of his tongue, a slow, deliberate stroke from heel to toes. The texture was smooth, yielding. A low, involuntary groan escaped him, muffled against her skin. It wasn’t just the act; it was the utter surrender, the violation wrapped in sterile white, the shared secret thickening the air.
Above him, Reece shifted. Daniel sensed movement, heard the rustle of fabric. Then, warmth pressed against his shoulder. Reece knelt beside him, his presence radiating heat and intent. Daniel didn’t need to look. He felt Reece’s gaze burning into Kennedy’s other foot.
Reece didn’t hesitate. His hand, still gloved, gripped Kennedy’s ankle gently, lifting her foot slightly. He bent his head. His tongue, broad and hot, laved a wet path along her sole, starting at the heel and dragging slowly, possessively, towards her toes. A mirror image to Daniel’s ministrations.
The sounds filled the operating room – the wet slide of tongues on skin, the soft rasp of their breathing, the relentless hum of machinery. Kennedy remained utterly still, lost in the chemical twilight, her breathing deep and even. Her feet, cradled and claimed, were the only points of contact, islands of sensation in her sea of oblivion.
Daniel focused on the delicate bones of her toes, taking one gently between his lips, tasting the salt-dusted skin. Reece mirrored him, sucking lightly on her little toe, his breath hot against Daniel’s knuckles where their hands brushed near her ankle. The shared focus, the synchronized violation, was dizzying. It wasn’t just about Kennedy anymore; it was the raw connection thrumming between them over her unconscious form.
"Fuck," Reece breathed against her skin, the word vibrating against her arch. His tongue pressed harder, exploring the sensitive hollow beneath her toes. "So soft. All hers… mine."
Daniel answered with action, not words. He dragged his tongue firmly down the length of her sole again, a claiming stroke, meeting Reece’s intense gaze over the pale landscape of her feet. Reece’s eyes were dark pools, stripped of everything but hunger and a fierce, shared understanding. His hand tightened slightly on Kennedy’s ankle, pulling her foot fractionally closer as his tongue delved deeper into the curve. The ventilator sighed. The monitors blinked green. And beneath the sterile lights, two men worshipped the unconscious soles of the woman who belonged to them, the taste of salt and surrender thick on their tongues.
The wet heat of Daniel’s tongue traced the delicate arch of Kennedy’s right foot, savoring the yielding softness, the faint tang of antiseptic and clean skin. Beside him, Reece’s breath hitched audibly, his own mouth working hungrily over the sole of her left foot, his gloved fingers tightening possessively around her ankle. The ventilator sighed its mechanical rhythm. The monitors blinked their steady, reassuring green. Surrender was absolute, thick and heady in the sterile air.
Reece lifted his head slightly, his lips glistening. His gaze, dark and molten, locked onto Daniel’s over the pale landscape of Kennedy’s feet. "Christ, Danny," he breathed, the words rough, stripped bare. "Feels like she’s melting… just for us." He dragged the flat of his tongue from her heel to the base of her toes in one long, claiming stroke. A low groan rumbled in his chest.
Daniel answered by taking Kennedy’s big toe fully into his mouth, sucking gently, feeling the delicate bone beneath the skin. He hummed against her skin, the vibration traveling up her leg. "All ours," he murmured, releasing her toe with a soft pop. His own arousal was a tight, insistent throb, pressed against the fabric of his scrubs. He shifted his focus to the sensitive hollow beneath her toes, laving it with deliberate, slow sweeps. "Told you she’d be perfect."
"More than perfect," Reece growled, his voice thick. He mirrored Daniel’s action, sucking Kennedy’s little toe, his teeth grazing the skin with just enough pressure to elicit a phantom response. His free hand, still resting low on her abdomen beneath the thin gown, flexed unconsciously. "She’s… everything." He lifted his head again, his eyes burning into Daniel’s. "Want to taste her everywhere."
The implication hung heavy, charged. Daniel met Reece’s fierce gaze, the shared understanding crackling between them like static. The sterile field felt less like a boundary and more like an invitation. He started to lean forward, his intention clear – to move higher, past the ankle, towards the tantalizing curve of her calf revealed beneath the draped sheet.
KENNEDY’S TOE TWITCHES.
It was sudden. Minute. A tiny, involuntary spasm in the big toe of her right foot – the foot Daniel had just released from his mouth.
Daniel froze, mid-motion. His playful grin vanished, replaced by instant, razor-sharp focus. His eyes snapped from Reece’s face down to Kennedy’s foot. The toe lay still again, relaxed against its neighbors. Had he imagined it? A trick of the harsh light? A muscle twitch unrelated to consciousness?
Reece saw it too. His intense hunger vanished, replaced by the cold, assessing gaze of the anesthesiologist. He released Kennedy’s ankle instantly, his hand hovering above her skin. "Danny?" His voice was tight, clipped. Professional. "Did you see—"
Before he could finish, Kennedy’s left foot – the one Reece had been lavishing attention on moments before – jerked slightly. Not a twitch this time. A distinct, reflexive flex of the toes, curling inward for a fraction of a second before relaxing again.
The steady green line on the cardiac monitor spiked. Just once. A single, sharp peak before settling back to its rhythmic blip. Oxygen saturation dipped a single percentage point. 99% to 98%. Statistically insignificant in most contexts. Here, in this room, with Kennedy chemically suspended between worlds, it screamed.
"Shit," Reece hissed, scrambling upright. All traces of the predatory lover were gone, replaced by the hyper-alert clinician. His eyes darted to the IV pump, then to Kennedy’s face. Her eyelids fluttered faintly, a ghost of movement beneath the delicate skin. Her lips parted slightly wider, a soft, almost questioning sigh escaping – a sound utterly unlike the drugged moans of moments before.
Daniel was already on his feet, his own arousal forgotten, cold dread prickling his spine. He scanned the monitors, his mind racing through protocols, drug half-lives, possible interactions. "Vitals?" he barked, though he could see them as clearly as Reece.
"HR spike, transient. Sat dipped minimally. Reflexive movement." Reece’s voice was clinical, rapid-fire. He gently lifted one of Kennedy’s eyelids, shining the small penlight clipped to his scrub top. Her pupil reacted sluggishly, contracting slowly against the beam. "Pupillary response delayed. Not fully under." He dropped her eyelid, his jaw clenched. "Propofol infusion rate?"
Daniel checked the pump display. "Steady. Exactly where we set it." He reached for her wrist, feeling for her radial pulse. It was strong, a little fast, but regular beneath his latex-covered fingers. Too fast for someone supposedly deep in anesthetic oblivion. "Pulse is tachycardic. Eighty-five." He met Reece’s alarmed gaze. "She shouldn’t be tachycardic."
Reece’s hand hovered over the syringe port on the IV line. "Do we push more?" The question was loaded. Pushing more propofol risked oversedation – respiratory depression, plummeting blood pressure. But leaving her in this twilight state… aware? The implications were horrifying. And thrilling. And utterly, catastrophically dangerous.
Kennedy’s head shifted minutely on the pillow. A tiny frown creased the space between her brows. Her lips moved silently, forming a wordless shape.
Daniel stared, his heart hammering against his ribs. The sterile air suddenly felt suffocating, thick with the scent of panic cutting through the antiseptic and arousal. The adventure had just plunged into uncharted, terrifying territory. The woman who belonged to them wasn't just surrendering anymore.
She was stirring.
